"Old Xu? Old Xu? Do you want a wife?"
"Hey, just ask and I'll bring it to you right away."
Lu Fangfang shouted loudly as she stepped into the courtyard.
Before she could find Xu Huayun, she saw the family's big wild donkey standing at the gate of the stable, looking at her in disbelief.
Its expression was like... like it had seen a ghost.
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey raised its head and brayed, then ran towards her.
"Hey, I was talking to Lao Xu about his wife, I didn't call you."
Lu Fangfang hugged the donkey's head and laughed uncontrollably.
It seems she wasn't mistaken; that gluttonous donkey really did come to Team Six.
"Okay, okay."
The little wild donkey was so enthusiastic, it kept licking her face while whimpering, looking quite aggrieved.
"Oh...ah..."
"Alright, alright, I'm back now. Hey little wild donkey, what are you doing at Old Xu's house?"
Lu Fangfang stroked it vigorously, still feeling a bit doubtful.
"oh……"
The little wild donkey's whimpers ceased.
It wagged its little tail, left Lu Fangfang's arms, and started to run away.
"You stubborn little donkey, have you done something bad?"
Lu Fangfang grabbed the little wild donkey's tail and pulled it back.
She moved closer to the little wild donkey and examined it carefully.
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey looked completely innocent, and it whimpered as it snuggled closer to Lu Fangfang.
"Go away, don't get close to me."
Lu Fangfang pushed the donkey's head aside and looked into the horse pen. She saw several mares also looking out curiously, and she immediately understood what was going on.
She rubbed the donkey's head vigorously and said earnestly:
"You stubborn little donkey, this is a distorted form of love! You can't do this!"
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey snorted and broke free from Lu Fangfang's grasp.
Wagging its little tail, it walked back into the stable by itself.
"Look at you, so pathetic! Can't you just find a proper female Tibetan wild ass?"
Lu Fangfang glared at it fiercely.
But the little wild donkey ignored her completely and moved closer to the mare.
Lu Fangfang was too lazy to care anymore.
Anyway, we've tried it before, and none of the mares in the group have given birth to Tibetan wild mules.
Looking around, she couldn't see Xu Huayun, so she called out again, "Old Xu? Old Xu? Do you want a wife?"
"Sister! Stop shouting."
Xiuxiu blushed with embarrassment, stamped her foot, and quickly pulled her sister back.
"Okay, okay, I won't call anymore, I won't call anymore. Old Xu is probably not home."
Curious, Lu Fangfang walked to the south side of the yard and found two large piles of mud bricks that had already been made, covered with straw mats.
She pulled one out and examined it; it felt very heavy and sturdy.
"Sister, these are the adobe bricks that Old Xu made in the summer, he's going to use them to build a house."
Xiuxiu stepped forward and pulled the straw curtain up again.
“That’s right. The main house will be built with bricks. You can keep these adobe bricks to build a side room. This can’t be delayed. Once the weather warms up, we’ll build the house.”
Lu Fangfang nodded, quite satisfied.
After looking around the yard, she noticed that Old Xu's yard was much cleaner than before.
"Sis, it's cold outside, let's go inside."
Xiuxiu pulled her sister along and walked into Old Xu's mud-brick house.
Old Xu's room wasn't locked either...
Sigh, this dilapidated house is useless even with the lock on.
The house was still dark and dilapidated, looking even more run-down than it had been a few years ago.
Xiuxiu skillfully walked to the stove, stuffed it with horse manure, and lit it.
The room warmed up quickly.
Lu Fangfang sat on the bench, picked up a book at random, and started flipping through it.
Before long, she heard noises coming from outside.
I peeked through the window and saw that it was Old Xu rushing back.
"Xiu, your husband is back."
"Sis, what did you say?"
Xiuxiu couldn't help but stand up.
She opened the wooden door and found herself face to face with Old Xu.
Both of them were taken aback, a mix of emotions welling up inside them.
Beside them, Lu Fangfang watched them with a smile, without saying a word.
After a long pause, Xu Huayun spoke up, "Xiuxiu, you..."
"Old Xu, do you want a wife?"
Xiuxiu interrupted Xu Huayun and looked at him expectantly.
"want!"
"I want!"
I want a wife!
Xu Huayun responded loudly without the slightest hesitation.
"Old Xu, then I'll be your wife!"
Xiuxiu ran forward and hugged Xu Huayun tightly.
Xu Huayun also hugged Xiuxiu tightly.
After a while.
"Ahem, there are still people inside."
With a motherly smile on her face, Lu Fangfang could only take the initiative to remind the two of their separation.
"Comrade Lu... Comrade Lu is here too."
Xu Huayun quickly let go of her hand.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling incredibly embarrassed.
Beside her, Xiuxiu looked almost the same, her face as red as a monkey's bottom.
"Old Xu, my parents have already agreed to your relationship with Xiuxiu. You're not getting any younger, so don't delay any longer..."
"By the way, your house will have to be demolished and rebuilt in a month or two when it gets hot. We can't let that delay our important business."
"It won't be a delay. I've already talked to Uncle Guo and Grandpa Dong in the team, and they'll all come to help."
Xu Huayun was very excited and nodded repeatedly.
Seeing this, Lu Fangfang talked about something else.
Xu Huayun nodded in agreement.
