"Oh...ah..."
As Lu Fangfang stepped out of the storage room, she saw the little wild donkey braying in the yard again.
It stared angrily at the tree, its two front legs kicking upwards.
"You stubborn little donkey, what's wrong now?"
Lu Fangfang followed its gaze and saw that the little chubby bird on the tree had another tuft of donkey hair in its beak.
Having guessed what had happened, she almost laughed.
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey quickly walked up to Lu Fangfang, brayed at her, and then turned around to signal the donkey cart.
With this thing around, it can only let the little chubby bird steal its fur, which is quite inconvenient.
Lu Fangfang chuckled again, not entirely without principle; it wasn't easy to make this stubborn little mule at home suffer a setback.
She untied the donkey cart, then slapped the donkey's rump. "Alright, go outside and graze."
The little wild donkey didn't move. It circled the birch tree twice, then stared intently at the tree again.
Lu Fangfang stroked the donkey's head, knowing that the little wild donkey wanted revenge.
Looking up, she saw that the little chubby bird was also staring at the donkey under the tree without moving. She was a little annoyed. This little white ball really didn't know how powerful the wild donkey was.
Not wanting the little chubby bird to die in the donkey's mouth, she grabbed the donkey's ear and drove the wild donkey to the pasture outside.
Back in the storage room, she found the remaining planks and got busy on her own.
After a while, Da Niu came with her notebook and Da Ya.
The two looked at their aunt, who had made a small wooden box, and found it rather strange.
"Auntie, what are you busy with?"
“A little bird was brought to the farm and kept pecking at the little stubborn donkey’s hair. I made it a home to shelter it from the wind and rain so that it wouldn’t annoy the little stubborn donkey.”
As Lu Fangfang spoke, she almost laughed.
Seeing that the two girls were quite curious, she pointed outside and told them to go out and take a look.
After a while, Daya ran in excitedly.
"Auntie, that little bird is so cute! It looks like a little snowball. What's its name?"
"In my hometown, we call it Little Fatty Bird."
"Little Chubby Bird?"
When Da Ya heard this nickname, she smiled and showed her big teeth.
It quickly ran to the shed in the breeding farm and told its mother about the little fat bird.
She ran out again and started building a birdhouse for the little chubby bird with her aunt.
After a while, Lu Fangfang sat down to the side to supervise the work, leaving Daya to build the birdhouse by herself.
She discovered that this girl's handicrafts were actually better than hers.
"Auntie, how do we put it on the tree?"
"Just tie a ladder to the tree, Da Niu. Nail a plank to the entrance and put some grass seeds in it. When the little fat bird sees it, it will fly over."
As Lu Fangfang spoke, she thought of finding some soft, dry grass to put in the birdhouse later.
Otherwise, this ignorant little fat bird would still peck at the wild donkey's hair.
When she walked into the yard, she found that Da Niu was still standing in front of the birch tree, looking up at her.
Upon closer inspection, I saw that the girl had already drawn a chubby little bird in her notebook, and it looked quite like one.
Lu Fangfang felt that this little girl was drawing better and better.
Just as she was marveling at this, she heard someone calling her from outside.
"Sister, sister, another letter has arrived."
"Huh? A letter?"
Lu Fangfang turned around and saw Xiuxiu leading Xiaohua and the little Tibetan fox, carrying a large package into the courtyard.
"Sister, this was sent by Comrade Hao Dazhuang. There seem to be quite a few letters."
Xiuxiu walked up to her sister, still feeling a bit of a headache.
At first, she was quite happy to read the letters from her young readers, but after reading many, she lost her curiosity.
"How many letters are there now?"
Lu Fangfang also had a headache, so she quickly opened the package.
At a glance, it was clear that her husband's jinx had come true; there were indeed more letters in the package than last time.
The addresses on the letters were varied, mostly from other provinces, while there were far fewer from the provincial capital.
She carefully selected the letter the publisher had sent her, and then wrapped the rest in kraft paper.
There are so many letters, I can't possibly reply to them all, I simply can't.
Lu Fangfang decided not to reply to each letter one by one, but to simply keep them at home and read them slowly.
She felt that once the "Major Spy Case" was finished and published, she would have to buy a house to store the letters from her young readers.
The young readers of this era are so enthusiastic.
She put the letter the publisher had sent her into her pocket, then called out to Xiaohua and Xiaozanghu as they entered the house.
She took out the comb that Mingcheng had made from the horn of a rock goat and began to groom the fur of Xiaohua and the little Tibetan fox.
"Meow~"
Little Flower rolled over and squinted her eyes slightly.
Lu Fangfang stroked its fluffy head, then took a comb and began to brush its body.
The little flower has thick fur that clings tightly to its skin.
She combed it a few times and a huge clump of hair came off.
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox was the same; its fur was yellowish and longer than that of the little spotted fox.
At this time, the birdhouse in Daya's hands was almost finished.
Xiuxiu went to the meadow to gather some hay, softened it by kneading it, and then put it in the birdhouse.
She then combed the fur from the little flower and the little Tibetan fox and put it on the dry grass to make a small bird's nest.
The fur on Little Flower and Little Tibetan Fox is much softer and warmer than that on Little Wild Donkey. Little Fatty must feel very comfortable sitting inside.
She took the birdhouse to the yard, leaned the ladder against the birch tree, and then had Xiuxiu climb up and carefully tie the birdhouse to the tree.
