Old Master Yu listened to Wei Mo's words and looked at him with a puzzled expression:
"Dragon King? What Dragon King? This elixir was given to you by the Dragon King, the one I'm thinking of who controls the rain, lakes, and rivers?"
Just as Old Master Yu was asking his question, he heard Wang Zhenhua explain to him from the side:
"Godfather, let's keep our voices down. Our little Mo is under the protection of the Dragon King. Many of the things he has received before were rewards from the Dragon King."
"We are still cracking down on feudal superstition, as you, sir, are well aware of. We must protect it."
"Even a lot of the grain in the house, the one I just washed my hair with, and many other things were all rewards from the Dragon King."
When Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu heard this, they couldn't help but worry. They were both quite old, and although there had been a crackdown on feudal superstition recently, they were still deeply believers in it.
Grandma Yu asked nervously from the side:
"Zhenhua, the Dragon King won't harm my grandson, will he? If he does harm my grandson, please don't do this kind of thing again."
Upon hearing Grandma Yu's words, Wang Zhenhua quickly shook his head. Wei Mo, standing nearby, smiled when Grandma Yu expressed her concern and explained to her:
"Grandma, don't worry. The Dragon King only asks me for gold as an offering, and he often gives me other rewards. It doesn't harm me at all."
When Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu heard this, they went to Wei Mo's side and checked him over again. Seeing that it was still their grandson and he looked the same as before, they breathed a sigh of relief.
You see, they've heard far too many stories about gods and ghosts, and any one of them could bring them harm.
After checking on Wei Mo, Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu began to check on their own bodies. Grandpa Yu felt that he was at least ten years younger and was now full of energy again.
Grandma Yu is the same. Although the two of them don't get sick now that they live in Wei Mo's house, they can't stop aging.
The elixir's effect was to prolong their lives and increase their vitality. Looking at the two elderly people who cared for him, Wei Mo pondered for a moment and decided to give them a demonstration on the spot.
His consciousness entered the trading mall, where he purchased two bags of rice and then took them directly from his spatial storage.
Two bags of rice suddenly appeared in front of Wei Mo and fell to the ground. Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu were shocked and rushed over to check.
The rice inside the packaging bag was crystal clear; wasn't this the fine grain they ate at home? Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu had different reactions.
Grandma Yu immediately guarded the doorway, while Grandpa Yu peered out the window. Seeing their tense expressions, Wang Zhenhua, Wei Mo, and the other two breathed a sigh of relief.
Grandpa Yu even drew the curtains before returning to Wei Mo's side, while Grandma Yu remained at the door and did not come over.
Old Master Yu's face was somewhat serious as he solemnly addressed the three people before him:
"Zhenhua, Xiuxiu, grandson, you must not tell anyone this news. Let this secret remain buried among us."
"If there's anything you can't bring out in the future, just pin it on me. Especially you, grandson, you always like to get your hands on weird little things. Is that related to the Dragon King too?"
Wei Mo nodded obediently to the side, pretending to be a child, and said to Grandpa Yu:
"Grandpa, Grandpa, it was all taught to me by the Dragon King."
When Grandpa Yu heard this, he felt it was only natural. However, he thought it was a blessing for his family that his grandson could be protected by the Dragon King.
Wei Mo is still young, and there has been no news of his father, Wei Guo. The old man must protect Wei Mo and his family.
Wang Zhenhua walked to the side, took Grandma Yu's hand, and pulled her to the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed):
"Don't worry, godmother. Nothing will happen if we stay at home. Right now, only the five of us know about this, and most of the time no one comes into Wei Mo's room."
Grandma Yu nodded in agreement. Although she was old, she wasn't stupid. Now she finally understood why her family's food supply never seemed to run out.
She had actually noticed this before and thought it was because Wang Zhenhua was worried about not having enough food and was constantly replenishing it. She never expected it was actually her beloved grandson's doing.
She glanced at her husband beside her, looking at his youthful face, and realized that she herself looked the same.
They were happy that their grandson knew how to care for them, so they were determined to protect their precious grandson.
Wang Zhenhua and Li Xiuxiu told the two elderly people about some of the things Wei Mo had taken out, which greatly surprised them.
When Grandma Yu learned that Wei Mo needed to offer gold to the Dragon King, she immediately opened the door and went back to her room.
Not long after, she returned to Wei Mo's room carrying an antique box. She smiled and said to Wei Mo:
"Grandson, this is full of gold, including small goldfish and jewelry made of gold. I originally planned to pass it on to my granddaughter-in-law when you got married, but I'm giving it to you ahead of time."
After Grandma Yu finished speaking, she opened the box, and Wei Mo saw small yellow fish and jewelry inside, which were glittering with gold.
Wei Mo hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should accept his maternal grandmother's family.
Just as he hesitated, Old Master Yu gently patted Wei Mo, then said with a hint of reproach:
“Take what I’m giving you. These things are things you can’t take with you when you die. They were prepared for you by your grandma and me.”
Seeing that Old Master Yu also said so, Wei Mo had no choice but to take the whole box of gold into his hands and then wave his hand to put it into his spatial storage.
The old man witnessed Wei Mo's methods again. The antique box from before had vanished into thin air once more. However, he had now accepted that Wei Mo must have offered it as a sacrifice to the Dragon King.
Wang Zhenhua didn't go to work this morning either. He stayed in Wei Mo's room with Grandpa Yu, Grandma Yu, and Wei Mo, observing Grandpa Yu and Grandma Yu's condition.
Until Qian Manman's voice came from outside the door.
"Dinner's ready! Everyone come out and eat!"
The five of them walked out of Wei Mo's room together. Qian Manman and Zhou Fen looked at their godparents with suspicion.
They wondered if it was just their imagination, but their godfather and godmother looked much younger; their wrinkles had mostly disappeared, with only a few remaining.
Moreover, she looked radiant and full of energy, so Qian Manman quickly asked:
"Godfather and Godmother, did you take some kind of magic pill? You look so much younger, and all the wrinkles on your faces have disappeared."
Qian Manman spoke without thinking, but the listeners took it to heart. Wang Zhenhua and the old man all felt a jolt of unease. It was Wei Mo who forced an explanation from the side.
"Aunt Manman, Grandma and Grandpa have always looked like this. Have they changed at all? You haven't noticed that their wrinkles have gotten less lately, have you?"
Qian Manman felt a little embarrassed by Wei Mo's words. She quickly scratched her head and said somewhat shyly:
"Is that so? But are there any ways to remove wrinkles?"
Xiao Weimo nodded, quickly purchased two bottles of skincare products from the trading shop within the space, removed the packaging, and stored them in the space. Weimo then spoke to Qian Manman:
"Aunt Manman, wait for me a moment, I'll go get that good stuff for you so everyone can try it out."
After he finished speaking, he ran back to his room, took out the skincare products he had just bought from his storage space, and then ran back to the dining table.
