Chapter 30: Zhou and Li, all of you, get away from her daughter



Su Miantang said in a hushed voice, his voice like that of a teenager who had just changed his voice, hoarse and unpleasant.

"Okay, round trip, rent a car for one dollar."

The ferryman nodded, took a deep breath and exhaled the smoke.

"Okay, but you'll pay for the fare when you come back."

Su Miantang agreed readily, but he also kept a trick up his sleeve.

"You little bastard, you're so petty, get in the car."

The ferryman was amused. How could he not know that there was such an interesting boy in the village?

But the rule is this: he doesn't ask any questions, just come and work. Making money is better than getting nothing.

Su Miantang put the backpack on the donkey cart first, and then sat on it herself, but half of her legs were at the back of the cart, so that she could stay alert and escape in case of any accident.

The ferryman didn't care about the little guy's little thoughts. He lit the oil lamp, sat in the front of the donkey cart and drove the donkeys.

He would take a puff of his pipe from time to time and hum a little tune, feeling very happy.

"Uncle, it's late at night, aren't you afraid of encountering a ghost wall?"

Su Miantang felt a bit bored, so he started chatting.

"There's nothing to be afraid of with ghosts. People are the scariest."

The ferryman shook his head. Perhaps it was because there were few people here today and it was boring, and he was lonely, so he was interested in chatting with the young man.

"Master, have you ever encountered murder and robbery?"

Su Miantang became interested. It was obvious from the old man's tone that there was a story behind it.

"Killing and robbing is nothing. I've experienced things that a kid like you has never seen or heard of."

This flattery, or rather, the tone of curiosity, actually reminded the ferryman of his glorious past, and he couldn't help but start chatting...
