The lingering kiss he received that night, and Jiang Ci's softening of her sharp edges, made Zhou Mingli feel no fatigue at all.

Zhou Mingli almost laughed out of anger at her words.

The two talked as they went downstairs to get their medicine.

This was a man's angry shout.
"Did anyone say we had to wait in line? Nobody said that me standing here doesn't count as cutting in line! Let me tell you, my son is sick and waiting for his medicine! If he misses his medicine because of you, you're harming my son! I'll never forgive you!"
This is the voice of a woman yelling and throwing a tantrum.
"You're being incredibly unreasonable! Everyone who comes to the hospital is sick, right? Your child is precious, but whose child isn't? Everyone's queuing up patiently, why should you cut in line? Get out of my way!"
As he spoke, the man shoved the woman away.
The woman pretended to fall to the ground and started crying, "There's no law! I get bullied just for buying medicine! There's no law at all!"
"Everyone, come quick! This old man is bullying me, a woman! He wouldn't let me buy medicine and even pushed me down! He's abusing his power!"
The crowd watched as the woman threw a tantrum and pointed at the man.
"Who bullied my mom?!" A chubby boy of about eleven or twelve years old ran out, rushed to the woman's side, glared at the people around him, and finally looked at the man who had pushed his mother, "Was it you?!"
"Who bullied her? It was your mother who cut in line!" The man wasn't going to tolerate this tantrum. He sneered, "Your tantrums won't work. Go ahead and cry! Even if you cry yourself to death, I won't let you cut in line!"
The man spat at the woman again, "You still say your son is sick and taking medicine? I think your son is perfectly fine, he doesn't look sick at all!"
The woman's tantrum intensified, "You old-fashioned feudal man, how dare you bully women in this day and age? Where are the hospital staff?! Why isn't anyone doing anything about him?!"
"You bullied me and even cursed my son! You're definitely not as jealous of me as your son!"
The man was so angry he didn't know what to say. Just then, the hospital staff finally came out. The nurse, not caring about anything else, shouted, "What's all the noise about?! This is a hospital, not a place for you to argue and fight! If you keep making a scene, I'll call security!"
The woman dared not vent her anger on the nurse, but glared fiercely at the man, saying, "You just wait, I'll make you pay!"
The man sneered, "I'll wait and see how you make me pay."
After saying that, the man remained standing in place, glaring back angrily, determined not to let her cut in line.
The woman was furious, but in the end, a kind-hearted mother and daughter gave her their spot so she could buy her medicine ahead of time.
The woman finally calmed down and stood over there arrogantly, saying, "Get out of my way, are you trying to crush me to death?"
After saying that, she pulled her son to stand in the line and fussed over him.
The kind-hearted mother and daughter: "???"
Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli watched the whole thing and exchanged a glance.
