Chapter 27: Boss Zhou Makes Trouble at Zhou's House

Zhou Mingli had just unloaded the fifty kilograms of noodles hanging on the front bar of his bicycle when his gaze fell on the window of the room where they were resting, and suddenly realized that something was wrong.

When Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli left this morning, they closed all the doors and windows and locked the door, just in case a thief took advantage of their absence to sneak in and steal things.

Before leaving, Zhou Mingli checked it again, and there was a crack in the window near the kitchen.

How could there be a crack in a tightly closed window?

Zhou Mingli immediately opened the window and could see all the furnishings in the room at a glance—there was a person inside!

It wasn't Zhou Miao, it wasn't Zhou Yang, and it certainly couldn't be him or Jiang Ci; it was a complete stranger!

He was hiding under the bed. Although his face wasn't showing, his feet and legs were, and Zhou Mingli spotted him immediately!

Zhou Mingli shouted, startling the stranger, and Jiang Ci heard it at the same time.

Upon seeing this, Jiang Ci immediately ran towards the Yu family's house, her face still damp with sweat.

"Brother Yu! Brother Yu! My house has been burgled!!!"

Jiang Ciren hadn't even gone inside when he shouted at the Yu family's gate.

Brother Yu and Sister-in-law Yu, who were taking a nap, woke up immediately.

thief!

Such scum are despicable and hateful in any era!

Brother Yu hurriedly put on his shoes and ran outside, shouting to Sister-in-law Yu, "Don't go out! Watch the children! Don't let them run around!"

Brother Yu ran out the door and saw Jiang Ci covered in sweat.

"Where is the thief?!"

"My...my home!"

Jiang Ci was still a little out of breath. She and Zhou Mingli didn't dare to slow down on their way back. The bicycle was flying everywhere, and she didn't know if the bicycle was okay, but Jiang Ci herself was definitely in trouble.

Before Brother Yu could ask any more questions, he heard a loud bang.

The two of them quickly looked in the direction from which the sound came.

The door to the Zhou family's house was kicked down.

Rotten.

Brother Yu immediately ran towards the Zhou family's house.

At this moment, the man who had kicked down the door was standing in front of Zhou Mingli, looking at him with a cold and resentful expression.

Two bicycles laden with goods stood before Zhou Mingli, and flour lay beneath his feet…

All of this was bought by Zhou Lao Er with his own money!

One hundred and fifty yuan!

Zhou Mingli stared coldly at the man, saying each word clearly, "You stole things, you stole from my house, Boss Zhou..."

"I'm just taking back what's mine. Second brother, you're a real spendthrift! This is my money! You spent it all in one day?!"

Boss Zhou was furious!

Around 11 or 12 o'clock today, Zhou Laoda went to work and heard from others that Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli had gone to town and hadn't returned yet.

Zhou Laoda's mind immediately started working on something.

He still remembered the 150 yuan that Zhou Mingli had taken from him.

Zhou Lao Er went directly to his house to threaten him and demand money, completely disregarding their brotherly relationship. So what could Zhou Lao Er do to him if he went and stole the 150 yuan back?

Zhou Laoda felt heartbroken whenever he thought about the 150 yuan he had lost. Since he and Zhou Laoer had already fallen out, it wouldn't matter if he got his money back, right?

So Zhou Laoda pretended to work for a while. Just as he was about to steal money from Zhou Mingli's house, his wife called him home for dinner. Zhou Laoda figured that Zhou Mingli was injured and Jiang Ci wasn't exactly a strong person, so they probably wouldn't be back so soon.

So Zhou Laoda went home and ate dinner first, and then went to Zhou Mingli's house.

Just as he expected, there was no one at Zhou Mingli's house; the two little brats were at home and hadn't come back at all.

Zhou Laoda practically swaggered into Zhou Mingli's kitchen. There was nothing in the kitchen, and since there were no extra locks in the house, the kitchen was unlocked.

The rice, vegetables, and noodles were almost all eaten this morning, leaving only a pitifully small amount of seasonings that weren't worth much. All that was left was a pile of disgusting-smelling pig offal that was only half-processed.

The smell made Zhou Laoda feel nauseous. He immediately left the kitchen and spat on the ground in disgust, yelling, "You penniless wretch!"

The door to the inner room was locked, but the window was unlocked, so Zhou Laoda climbed through the window and went inside.

This was where Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli used to sleep. The two tidied up the room several times. Although the walls were still covered in black grime, everything that needed to be organized was organized. The clean clothes were folded and put into the only cabinet. The water bottle that "Jiang Ci" brought when she went to the countryside was placed on a table with a missing leg propped up on the corner of the cabinet. The bed was covered with clean linen sheets, and the whole room looked much tidier.

Without thinking twice, Zhou the Elder overturned the table, opened the cabinet, and started rummaging through it.

Clothes covered in patches were carelessly thrown on the ground, and things were overturned and in disarray.

"Damn it, where's my money?"

The closet only contained clothes; there was no money hidden inside.

Zhou Laoda stepped on the clothes and started flipping over the bed again.

Sheets, pillows, everything that could be thrown was thrown on the floor, leaving no corner untouched.

If it weren't for being wary of the Yu family and not daring to make a big fuss, Zhou Laoda would have wanted to flip the whole bed over.

The red pillowcase used on the pillow, by sheer coincidence, landed right where Zhou Lao Er had hidden the iron box, completely obscuring it.

Zhou searched the room thoroughly, smashing and throwing away everything he could, but he couldn't find a single penny.

He was so angry.

He secretly thought that Zhou Lao Er and Jiang Ci must have gone to town and taken all the money to live a carefree life.

He gritted his teeth, feeling a little better after seeing the mess on the ground. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard the sound of a bicycle braking outside the door.

Zhou Laoda was startled. He looked around and finally hid under the bed.

Then, he heard Zhou Lao Er tell Jiang Ci to go pick up the child.

Zhou Laoda secretly figured out that he would take advantage of Zhou Laoer's busy schedule and jump out of the window to run away.

But to everyone's surprise, Zhou Lao Er was so vigilant that he immediately noticed something was wrong and even shouted it out!

Damn it! Boss Yu must have heard it!

Old Master Zhou was furious. Fueled by both old and new grudges, he pulled himself out from under the bed and kicked the door!

The door was kicked down.

Looking at Zhou Mingli returning with a full load of goods, what else could Boss Zhou not understand?

His money!

His 150 yuan! It was all squandered by that wretched Zhou Lao Er!

He even bought a bicycle!

Old Zhou's eyes were red with anger; these were all bought with his money!
