"Okay!" Sister-in-law Yu readily agreed, then turned to Dazhu and Erzhu in the house and shouted, "Dazhu and Erzhu! You two, each of you carry two stools to your Uncle Zhou's house!"
Dazhu and Erzhu are already eight or nine years old, and they are very sturdy. They had just come home from school when their mother ordered them to do chores. They followed Jiang Ci with their stools, grumbling and complaining.
The Zhou family doesn't even eat as well as his family. What would we eat at his house?
Dazhu and Erzhu exchanged knowing glances and made some subtle moves, clearly not wanting to eat at the Zhou family's house.
But Zhou Yang didn't think so. He happily followed behind his two older brothers, trying to say, "My family made meat! Meat is the best!"
Erzhu said, "You're bragging. Your mother came to my house a few days ago to exchange cornbread and eggs. How could your family possibly have meat to eat?"
Zhou Yang panicked, "I have meat at home!"
"Hmph, I don't believe it." Erzhu turned his head away, ignoring the little brat.
Dazhu suddenly sniffed and nudged his younger brother with his shoulder, "Erzhu, smell this, what's this? It smells so good."
Zhou Miao tilted her head back and said, "That's meat my dad makes! My dad's meat is the best."
Erzhu's eyes widened. "You really cook meat?"
"Of course." Zhou Yang put his hands on his waist, about to say something, when Jiang Ci patted him on the head.
Zhou Yang let out a pitiful howl, clutching his head and whimpering.
"Your parents helped us a lot today, so your aunt and uncle thought of treating you to dinner. Don't overthink it, just come and eat when it's time," Jiang Ci said calmly to Dazhu and Erzhu.
Dazhu and Erzhu exclaimed in surprise and unconsciously quickened their pace, quickly arriving at the Zhou family's kitchen. Sure enough, they smelled an extremely rich, intense, and domineering aroma that they had never smelled before!
Smells good! So good!
It smells like meat!
