"A big red envelope!" Zhou Yang's eyes immediately lit up.
He reached into his small bowl and found three dumplings inside.
He started eating with gusto.
Zhou Miao, not to be outdone, quickly took a bite of her own dumpling.
Jiang Ci reminded them, "Don't eat too fast. Chew the dumplings thoroughly before swallowing."
"Zheyue, why aren't you eating dumplings?"
"Eat later."
Huang Zheyue didn't think he would get any coins; his luck had never been very good.
Zhou Mingli glanced at him and said to Jiang Ci, "If you don't want to eat, then forget it."
"Hmm!"
Before she could finish speaking, Zhou Miao suddenly grunted, covered her mouth with her small hand, and spat out a coin.
A one-cent coin.
Zhou Miao's eyes sparkled, and she immediately held the coin up in front of Jiang Ci, "Mom! I got it!"
Zhou Yang cheered, "I got to eat some too!!"
Huang Zheyue, who was engrossed in eating, looked up and saw that Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao were holding two one-cent coins.

Jiang Ci sighed and looked at Zhou Mingli, "Is it really necessary for you to waste time cooking only three dumplings?"
Zhou Mingli suppressed a laugh and said, "No."
Huang Zheyue was stunned for a moment, then thought about it silently for a long time and realized that it made sense.
Uncle Zhou hates trouble the most, how could he possibly waste time just to cook three dumplings?

Jiang Ci took three red envelopes and handed them to the three children.

Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao only receive 50 cents a month in pocket money, which is considered a lot. Children their age in other families don't receive any New Year's money at all.
Huang Zheyue didn't open it; she carefully put the red envelope into her pocket.
The corners of my lips are turned up, damn it, I can't suppress my smile no matter what!
Seeing how happy the children were, Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli exchanged a glance, their eyes full of smiles.
The lively atmosphere was still going strong, and the aroma of the dishes was soothing and comforting.

Brother Yu works as a driver at the quarry, so he comes home a little late at night.

Brother Yu chuckled and said, "These are the things the quarry sent us, and this too. I got them from the quarry today after I finished delivering the goods. They said they were sent from Beijing to the quarry, and my name is written on them!"
"I guess it was the second brother and Xiao Jiang who brought this back."
When Sister-in-law Yu heard "Beijing," her eyes lit up. "Did Xiao Ci and the second son send it?!"
"Yes, the people at the quarry said it's been almost two months since they got here. That's incredibly slow!"
The couple quickly went inside. Sister-in-law Yu asked Dazhu to watch the pot, while she and Brother Yu went to unpack the package from Beijing.
Zhou Mingli and Jiang Ci wrapped the item very tightly; it was large and heavy, and no one knew what was inside.
Erzhu leaned closer and asked curiously, "Did Uncle Zhou and Aunt Jiang send this over?"
Sister-in-law Yu smiled broadly, "Yes, they brought it."
Brother Yu took Sister-in-law Yu's scissors and quickly opened the package.
What came into view was a piece of cloth.
A large piece of cotton cloth folded neatly!
Dark blue fabric is the most fashionable color right now!
"Such a big piece!" Sister-in-law Yu was shocked. She quickly picked it up and examined it closely. The color was dyed very evenly, and it felt very thick. She estimated that it could make a whole set of clothes!

Erzhu exclaimed in surprise, “Wow! So many books!”
Brother Yu and his wife hadn't received much education, so they quickly asked Erzhu, "What kind of book is this?"
"Let me see..." Erzhu picked it up and read the small characters written on it, "Presented to Dazhu, Erzhu."

“I’m giving you all this so you can study hard! This piece of cloth of mine is not as good as these books!” Sister-in-law Yu tapped his head.
Erzhu placed the book on the table, and a letter floated out from a hidden compartment.
Brother Yu pulled it out, and he could vaguely make out a few words, but he couldn't make out most of them.
He handed the letter to Erzhu, saying, "Read it!"
Erzhu could only act as a tool, reading aloud, "To our dear Brother Yu and Sister-in-law Yu, we have arrived safely in Beijing. It is very... well, what a place... Mr. Cheng's arrangements have allowed us to settle down in Beijing. Since the house is rented, we may have to move again, so I have written Mr. Cheng's address below. If you can come to Beijing, you can find Mr. Cheng at this address I have written."
