Chapter 378 Purchasing

Before leaving, Huang Zheyue's father told her that he was going on a business trip, but he never came back.

Huang Zheyue still had some lingering concerns about this, and subconsciously voiced her worries.

Jiang Ci chuckled, "What danger could I possibly be in? It's not like I'm going into a dragon's den or a tiger's lair."

Huang Zheyue picked up the lunchbox and bowl and took them out to wash. He turned around and glanced at Jiang Ci again and again, as if he wanted to say something but didn't. It was unclear what he was thinking.

At 2:30, Zhou Mingli returned. She was going abroad in two days, and this break was for that purpose.

Thinking about the weather there, Zhou Mingli decided to go to the department store with Jiang Ci to buy a few more dresses.

Zhou Mingli asked Huang Zheyue, "Zheyue, are you going?"

He glanced at the time; it was only a little past two o'clock. Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao's kindergarten would let out early, and Huang Zheyue had nothing to do at home. "I'll go!"

The three of them then set off together for the department store.

This time, the main purpose was to buy clothes for Jiang Ci. There weren't many styles of dresses available right now, and she had already bought summer clothes once, so Jiang Ci only bought a dress and a pair of white leather shoes at the department store.

"I estimate I'll stay there for about ten days. I'll exchange some pounds in a few days."

Jiang Ci looked at Zhou Mingli, her gaze lingering for a moment on his empty wrist.

Compared to Jiang Ci's summer and spring outfits, which already filled most of his wardrobe, Zhou Mingli's attire was much simpler, with only a few changes of clothes.

The only watch in the family is worn by Jiang Ci. The family isn't exactly poor, but Zhou Mingli has never mentioned spending money to buy one.

He bought things for Jiang Ci without batting an eye.

Zhou Mingli, oblivious to Jiang Ci's gaze, pondered for a moment and said, "Should we go ask Sister Ailian and Doctor Tao?"

Products from Country Y are quite good; they might need them.

Jiang Ci smiled and patted Zhou Mingli's shoulder, "You're pretty savvy!"

Zhou Mingli smiled calmly, "It's not easy to go abroad, so it's good if I can buy more things that aren't available in China."

Huang Zheyue scratched his head, somewhat confused.

Wasn't Aunt Jiang going abroad on a business trip? How come she could still buy things?

Young people don't understand; young people look completely ignorant.

The young man is unaware that there is such a thing as a personal shopper.

After Jiang Ci finished shopping, she went home to put her things away and picked up her child. Then, Zhou Mingli took half a pig's head and the whole family went to the Cheng family's house.

Li Ailian is a teacher with a fairly regular get off work schedule. When Jiang Ci's family arrived and explained their purpose, Li Ailian became happy, "You're going abroad!"

"I'd like to buy some, but I don't know what I can buy!"

Jiang Ci smiled and took out a piece of paper. "These are articles I read in the newspaper at work. They're all about cosmetics and skincare products that aren't available in China. Which brand would you like to use? I'll go and buy them for you."

Women have a lot to say when it comes to this.

Li Ailian didn't go to the kitchen to help Zhou Mingli. She called out, "Mingli, thank you for cooking! I need to talk to Xiaoci for a bit!"

Zhou Mingli, “…”

Jiang Ci used to be able to chat with female friends for a long time, which Zhou Mingli understood, so he went to the kitchen to help cook.

Cheng Ke didn't even do her homework anymore. Instead, she squeezed next to her mother and Aunt Jiang, listening to the two women talk about skincare.

Cheng Yehan, who had studied abroad, glanced at the two women, then turned and went to the kitchen to find Zhou Mingli with his hands behind his back.

"Have you packed all of your wife's things?" Cheng Yehan asked. "It's hot in Y country now, so don't pack any thick clothes. Also, prepare an umbrella for her."

"Most of them are packed." Zhou Mingli quickly prepared all the dishes, one by one, looking quite neat. "She said she wanted to bring two more suitcases over, saying she wanted to buy more things abroad."

Zhou Mingli looked at Cheng Yehan, smiled, and said, "Grandpa, would you like Jiang Ci to bring some books back?"

Cheng Yehan was somewhat tempted, but then shook his head. "Women say it's fine to buy skincare products, but this stuff is for sensitive skin, so it's better not to bring it."

"You make a list. If you can buy it, then buy it; if not, then forget it."

Cheng Yehan thought for a moment. Jiang Ci was a shrewd person; that group had been out of power for almost a year, and now the policies were starting to loosen up. It seemed...

He walked towards the study with his hands behind his back, saying, "Then I'll go write a form."

Jiang Ci, the purchasing agent, had dinner with the Cheng family. Not only did Li Ailian want Jiang Ci to help her buy things, but Cheng Huasheng and Cheng Yehan also wanted her to help them buy things.

They made a list, and Cheng Huasheng went back to his room and took out a thousand yuan to give to Jiang Ci.

Cheng Huasheng handed the money to Jiang Ci and said with a smile, "Convert it all to pounds. Check if the things we bought for our home are worth a thousand pounds. We'll refund any overpayment and collect any underpayment!"

Jiang Ci didn't stand on ceremony and took the money, saying, "Okay."

The next day, Jiang Ci went to see Tao Susu again. When Tao Susu heard that she was going abroad, she was indeed tempted. Jiang Ci even asked her if Shen Conghe wanted to buy books.

When it came to buying foreign books, Tao Susu was more decisive than Cheng Yehan: "No need. We've already suffered enough losses on books; let's not drag you down with us."

Jiang Ci nodded and took the things Tao Susu needed to bring home.

Jiang Ci's preparations for going abroad were carried out in an orderly manner, and he even bought an extra suitcase for the purpose.

That evening, Zhou Mingli packed her clothes into a suitcase, along with a small umbrella.

"Even though you're on official business, you still need to be careful abroad."

Zhou Mingli put her small clothes at the very back of the suitcase, then placed her work clothes and everyday clothes on top, and took out a cloth bag. "These are my usual cold medicine, seasickness medicine, and motion sickness medicine."

After saying that, Zhou Mingli put away the seventy pounds he had exchanged, as well as Tao Susu's seventy pounds and Cheng's one hundred and eighty pounds, in the inner pocket of Jiang Ci's wallet. "All the money and their written receipts are in there."

Jiang Ci watched him tidy up and didn't let her do anything. She took out a piece of clothing and told him what was inside and where it was placed.

The man was tall and squatted in front of the suitcase, calmly and earnestly explaining things to her, which seemed quite contrasting.

It's like he looks like he's capable of great things, but he's actually just a cook.

For some reason, Jiang Ci thought of the word "feeling of being a husband".

He is a perfect match for Zhou Mingli now.

“I don’t know which county you’re going to. You know Y country better than I do, but times have changed, so we have to be careful, okay?” Zhou Mingli closed her suitcase, still squatting there, looking up at Jiang Ci sitting on the bed.

She wasn't wearing shoes, and her slippers were nowhere to be seen on the ground, so she had to lift her leg and step on Zhou Mingli's knee, looking down as she said, "It would be great if you could come with me."

Zhou Mingli stroked her ankle. "I want to go with you too."
