Chapter 476 There is one and only one variable

The two children, Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao, stood beside Cheng Yehan.

Huang Zheyue, Shen Ting, Zhou Huai, and Cheng Ke, four young people, stood together.

After Cheng Shaojun finished setting up the camera and the time-lapse photography, he quickly ran to Shen Conghe's side.

The group of people connected by Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli took their first group photo in October 1982, the day before Jiang Ci left Beijing to go abroad.

That evening, Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli treated everyone to dinner, and the four families went out for another meal.

The next day, Jiang Ci went to see several leaders who had helped her.

I listened to their insights and guidance.

She also met a high-ranking official at the minister's house.

The top leader was deeply impressed by her and gave her a long list of earnest instructions upon meeting her.

Jiang Ci extracted a lot of important information from it.

Jiang Ci met with everyone she needed to see, and by the time she got home it was already evening.

Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao both knew she was leaving, and they lingered by her side, reluctant to part.

Zhou Miao's eyes welled up with tears, "Can't things really be like before, where Mom would come back after a few months away?"

Jiang Ci and Zhou Mingli would often return after being away for several months when they went out.

In fact, Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao were already used to it, but this time Jiang Ci was leaving for several years.

The two children still can't quite accept it.

Jiang Ci wiped away her tears. "Didn't we get a phone at home? You can call me once a month."

Jiang Ci smiled and said, "I miss you all very much when I'm away."

"Mom, do you miss me too?" Zhou Yang quickly asked.

Jiang Ci looked at Zhou Yang.

This kid was definitely spoiled when he was young; he wants to have everything to himself.

But he was also brought back to his senses by himself and Zhou Mingli; he was lively and mischievous, but also smart and sensible.

Jiang Ci rubbed his slightly prickly head. "Yes."

Zhou Mingli walked in from outside, accompanied by Huang Zheyue.

He was carrying a plate with three cups of warm milk on it.

"Yangyang and Miaomiao, drink your milk quickly, you have to go to school tomorrow."

Huang Zheyue said to Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao.

Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao were still unwilling to leave, and they lingered by Jiang Ci's side for a while before reluctantly drinking their milk and returning to their rooms.

Zhou Mingli sat in the spot that Zhou Yang and Zhou Miao had just occupied.

Jiang Ci didn't drink the hot milk; her eyes were full of smiles as she looked Huang Zheyue up and down.

Huang Zheyue felt a chill run down her spine under her gaze. "W-what are you doing?"

"Yangyang and Miaomiao listen to you very well."

“When you’re not home, it’s just me, Yangyang, and Miaomiao with you, so of course they listen to me.”

Jiang Ci smiled and said, "I'm not home, and your Uncle Zhou is busy at the factory. If you have time, could you help look after Yangyang and Miaomiao?"

Huang Zheyue: "I'll do it even without you telling me."

After speaking, Huang Zheyue's eyes darted around. He raised his hand and scratched the back of his head, looking somewhat annoyed and embarrassed.

Jiang Ci raised an eyebrow, glanced at Zhou Mingli, as if to ask, 'What's this kid doing?'

Zhou Mingli shrugged.

Huang Zheyue took a deep breath and took out a very thick black leather notebook.

"Here you go, I have several more. That should last you a long time, right?"

Jiang Ci took it and opened it; it was a notebook.

Jiang Ci chuckled, "You're still dragging your feet when it comes to giving a gift."

Seeing that she didn't seem to dislike it, Huang Zheyue breathed a sigh of relief.

"Anyway, I've already sent the items. Things are definitely expensive overseas. If I can buy them in China, I'll definitely prepare them in China."

"It's getting late, you should all get some rest. I'm leaving now."

Huang Zheyue didn't know what to say, and her words became more and more incoherent. In the end, she couldn't continue and turned to run away.

“Zheyue is different from Yangyang and Miaomiao; he can’t really show his reluctance on his face.” Zhou Mingli took the black leather notebook from her hand and said, “Drink your milk.”

Jiang Ci picked up her cup, finished the milk, and said, "He's still the same as when he was a child, awkward and clumsy in everything he does."

Zhou Mingli placed the notebook and the empty cup on the table, and turned his head to see Jiang Ci sticking out her tongue to lick the milk stains off her lips.

Zhou Mingli reached out, pressed his hand against the back of her neck, and turned his head to kiss her.

The lingering sweetness of milk in his mouth was thoroughly cleansed by Zhou Mingli, who carefully cleansed every corner of his mouth. The sound of him swallowing was unusually clear in the quiet room.

Zhou Mingli licked her lips and stroked her neck, saying, "Many people are reluctant to see you leave."

“This proves I’m popular.” Jiang Ci hugged his waist and buried her head in his chest.

Zhou Mingli gently stroked her, pulled her onto his lap, and held her tightly.

Strangely, Jiang Ci has met with many relatives and friends these past few days, and she has taken care of almost everyone. However, she seems to have deliberately or unintentionally neglected Zhou Mingli, with whom she spends every day.

It wasn't that I ignored others, but rather that I ignored our parting.

Zhou Mingli seemed unaware of this, and didn't go to the TV factory, content to stay by her side.

The room was very quiet.

Jiang Ci felt the soft warmth of his chest and gently shook her head against him.

"I'm so popular that I almost regret making the decision to apply."

Jiang Ci's voice was very low, almost like a murmur.

Zhou Mingli would sometimes rub her neck, sometimes press Jiang Ci's rounded shoulders, and sometimes place his hand on her back, gently stroking her like he was coaxing a child.

Jiang Ci heard him ask, "Just because of them?"

What is ignored does not mean it does not exist.

Zhou Mingli felt the spot where his nose was pressed against his chest tighten even more.
