Chunhua's face was ashen.
She touched her belly, her voice trembling with tears, "This is the third one."
Tao Susu breathed a sigh of relief and offered a weak consolation, "It's alright as long as you have a child, try to take it easy."
Chunhua can't let go of this at all!
How did it come to this? It was clearly that vixen Wang who seduced her man, so how could her father be so heartless as to kick Zhao Wei like this?
This is her man!
Chunhua felt wronged and resentful, and suddenly she started to hate her own father again.
When Zhou's eldest daughter-in-law heard that Zhao Wei's testicles were broken and he couldn't take it anymore, she almost burst out laughing.
The captain and two police officers looked constipated.
That father-in-law really went all out; he kicked him so hard he was practically crippled!
Cruel, too cruel.
After laughing, Zhou's eldest daughter-in-law remembered that her husband was also inside, and eagerly leaned over, "Doctor, doctor, where's my husband? How is he?"
"And who is your man?" Tao Susu pinched her brow again. "The injuries of the remaining three people have been treated. The other two male patients are more seriously injured, especially the shorter one. His head was hit no less than eight times, almost hitting his temple. Although I did my best to treat him, I can't be sure if there's anything wrong with his head."
Zhou's eldest daughter-in-law felt dizzy and her voice trembled, "My husband is very tall, doctor, you're not talking about my husband, are you? No way?"
The captain glanced at Zhou Laoda's wife and said, "Zhou Laoda isn't as tall as Li Hu."
Zhou's eldest daughter-in-law screamed and broke down in tears.
Seeing this, the captain sighed and asked, "Where are the other two? Are they alright?"
"The woman is alright; her head injury isn't serious. As for the other man, his injury is more serious, but not life-threatening. Let their families go and complete the hospital admission procedures; he'll need to stay in the hospital for a long time."
The captain nodded. "Okay, I understand."
Chunhua covered her face and wept, watching the four people wheeled out of the emergency room. Her resentful gaze fell on Widow Wang, and she continued to mutter curses, saying things like they should be sent to the farm.
Tao Susu paused as she prepared to leave, turning her head to glance at Chunhua.
The police officer who knew Tao Susu understood why she had stopped. He quickly went over and pushed her along, saying, "Dr. Tao, you've been working hard all night. Go and rest. We're here for you."
Tao Susu grabbed the policeman's arm. "Xiao Zhao, please help me find your teacher. I'm begging you."
Police officer Xiao Zhao pursed his lips tightly. "I can't tell you, Dr. Tao. Don't ask anymore. Teacher Shen is innocent, he'll be fine."
"Don't try to fob me off with those high-sounding words," Tao Susu said bitterly. "I just want to know where he is now."
A hint of helplessness and bitterness appeared in Officer Zhao's eyes. "Teacher's wife, I really don't know where Teacher Shen was taken."
Tao Susu stared at him intently for a while, and Xiao Zhao looked away, not daring to meet her gaze.
"If you don't tell me, I'll find it myself!"
Tao Susu let go of Xiao Zhao's arm, wiped away her tears, and walked towards the office.
The next morning, Tao Susu returned home after finishing her shift and heard a commotion as soon as she entered the courtyard.
The child's shouts and the sounds of things being smashed all reached Tao Susu's ears.
That's her son's voice!
Tao Susu took off running and hurried home. A crowd had gathered at her door. Some people outside saw Tao Susu and shouted, "Dr. Tao, someone has come to take your husband's things!"
As soon as Tao Susu entered the room, she saw her son struggling.
"Let go!" Tao Susu's eyes flashed with ferocity as she rushed forward and grabbed the person holding her son. "Let my son go!"
They hadn't intended to harm Tao Susu's son, but the boy was incredibly difficult to deal with. As soon as Tao Susu rushed over, they released him.
Shen Ting was immediately hugged by Tao Susu. His eyes reddened, and he tightly gripped his mother's arm, choking out, "Mom."
Tao Susu comforted her softly, "It's alright, it's alright, Lele, don't cry."
Tao Susu's gaze was sharp as she looked up coldly at the man in the lead wearing a Dacron shirt.
The man smiled. "Dr. Tao, that's the situation right now. Your husband has been dismissed, but you still have to continue working at the school. I'm here to pick up some documents. Don't overthink it."
Tao Susu's hands clenched tightly, she was so angry she almost fainted, but she held on tightly, gritting her teeth and saying, "Zheng Xiaowen, you can take the documents if you want, but why did you turn my house upside down?"
Principal Zheng Xiaowen was quite blunt, saying, "Since we're handing over the work, we can't leave out any important documents or tasks. Dr. Tao, we're just following the rules, so please don't disrupt our work."
After saying that, Zheng Xiaowen ignored Tao Susu and Shen Ting. He had come here to pick up things, so he took whatever he could in no time.
They took everything – tea, thermos flasks, radios, flashlights – and if the sewing machine hadn't been so big, they probably would have taken it too.
The people in the compound watched silently, pointing and whispering.
When Shen Ting saw that these people were even trying to put the fountain pen that his father had given him into their pockets, his eyes turned red and hatred surged into his brain. He rushed forward, bit the man's hand, and snatched the pen back.
"Ugh! That damn brat!"
Enraged, the man slapped Shen Ting hard across the face.
Tao Susu's head buzzed for a moment, then she rushed forward and shoved the man, yelling, "Have you no shame! Why did you hit my son!"
The man retorted confidently, "He bit me first!"
Shen Ting roared, "You took my pen! This was a gift from my father, what right do you have to take it!"
Someone rushed over and snatched the pen away, shouting, "Anything Shen Conghe gave us is stolen goods!"
Shen Ting was only eleven or twelve years old, and he couldn't compete with the gift his father had given him. His fingers were pried open inch by inch, and the gift was also taken away.
