Chapter 32: The Adulterous Couple
Jiang Yubai subconsciously picked up a piece of food with chopsticks and put it into his mouth.
It was a piece of lotus root, crispy, spicy and delicious.
When he couldn't help but want to take another bite, he suddenly froze.
"What's wrong? Why don't you eat it? Is it not delicious?" Ruan Yuntang asked puzzledly.
Jiang Yubai lowered his eyes and looked at the delicious food in the bowl. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't say it was bad.
He shook his head. "Delicious."
"Then you should eat more. There are a lot of dishes today, and you can't eat too much in this hot weather." Ruan Yuntang smiled and pushed the dishes towards him.
Jiang Yubai didn't refuse, but just stopped eating from the bowl. Instead, he picked up a piece of shredded pork with green peppers with his chopsticks.
This dish is mostly meat, without any fishy smell, and the meat is tender and not tough.

At this moment, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Ruan Yuntang had finished eating by this time, and she got up first to open the door.

Jiang Yu stared at her with his white eyes and said calmly, "I have to go back to the army soon and don't have time to clean up the dishes. These are your reward."
Hearing the voice, Ruan Yuntang raised his eyebrows slightly.

Jiang Yubai choked inexplicably and looked at her deeply with an unfathomable expression.
After a while, he didn't say how long it might take for him to come back, and went straight to the table to clear the dishes.
Ruan Yuntang was startled, but didn't ask him. He moved a small stool to the gate of the yard to enjoy the cool breeze.
Jiang Yubai moved quickly, putting the dishes in the kitchen and coming out to put on his military cap. Before leaving, he glanced around the room again, remembering something and suddenly asked:
"Didn't the Deputy Political Commissar's wife come to bring you food? Why are you cooking for yourself?"
"Deputy Political Commissar's wife?" Ruan Yuntang was puzzled, and said with certainty, "No one came to bring food today."
Jiang Yubai frowned.
Before he left, Political Commissar Chen specifically told them not to eat in the cafeteria at night and to have food delivered to them.
Ruan Yuntang quickly realized that someone should have come to bring her food, but for some reason no one came.
So Jiang Yubai thought she had food at home.
Jiang Yubai didn't explain much, just said:
"There's a cafeteria here. You can go there when you don't feel like cooking. I drew a simple map and put it in the kitchen. If you want to cook by yourself, I'll buy you the tools tomorrow."
"I'll do it myself." Ruan Yuntang said without hesitation.
In her previous life, besides making perfume, she also loved to cook delicious food. I guess the canteen couldn’t cook as well as her.
Hearing the voice, Jiang Yubai's eyes flashed with deep surprise.
As far as he knew, Ruan Yuntang was a young lady who had never done housework, so how could she possibly cook?
At first, he thought the meal was sent by the deputy political commissar's wife.

His drawing was not simple, and he basically drew the cafeteria, bathhouse, and other places she needed to go to.
He also carefully marked the names of the neighbors living on both sides.
Ruan Yuntang's eyes lit up, and he quickly memorized everything before stuffing the map into his pillow.
A good night's sleep.
