In the early morning, the sky was slightly bright and everything was quiet.
Luo Yiyi was woken up by the urge to urinate in a daze. Afraid of waking up the other people in the ward, he got out of bed quietly.
Luo Yiyi tiptoed and slowly walked to the door of the ward. He gently turned the handle, opened the door a crack, tiptoed out of the ward, and walked towards the toilet.
However, just as she passed the corner of the corridor, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure sleeping against the wall out of the corner of her eye.
Luo Yi took a closer look and was shocked. It was Gu Sihan!
She thought she was seeing things, or was hallucinating because she wasn't fully awake yet, so she rubbed her eyes hard and looked carefully again, only to find that it was indeed Gu Sihan.
This guy didn't go home, but fell asleep here!
Luo Yiyi was furious. He raised his foot and kicked Gu Sihan's calf lightly.
Gu Sihan was sleeping soundly when he was suddenly kicked. He woke up with a start and almost fell to the ground.
When he came to his senses and looked up to see that it was Luo Yiyi standing in front of him, an expression of helplessness instantly appeared on his face.
He stood up in a panic, stammering as he tried to explain: "Yi Yi, I..."
Luo Yiyi quickly stretched out an index finger and placed it to his lips, making a gesture of silence, signaling Gu Sihan not to make a sound.
Then, without saying a word, she reached out and grabbed Gu Sihan's sleeve, dragging him quickly towards the toilet.
The two came to the end of the bathroom corridor. Luo Yiyi stopped, looked around, and after making sure that there was no one around, he pulled Gu Sihan into the space.
After entering the space, Luo Yiyi released his hand, put his hands on his hips, looked at Gu Sihan seriously and asked, “Tell me, why didn’t you listen to me?
Why didn't you go home and sleep, but came here instead?"
Gu Sihan lowered his head, like a child who had done something wrong, and his voice was so low that it was almost inaudible: "I told Uncle Liu yesterday that he would come to pick up my brother and sister-in-law today.
And I thought, if I go back early today, I can heat the kang in time and won’t let my sister-in-law and the baby get cold.”
Luo Yiyi looked at the stubborn man in front of him with a puzzled look on his face, and asked in confusion: "Why do you have to sleep here?
Wouldn’t it be nice to go home and have a comfortable sleep on a warm kang?
It smells much better than here!"
However, in the face of her barrage of questions, Gu Sihan kept his head down and said nothing.
In fact, he had his own little plan in mind - he simply didn't want to be too far away from Yi Yi.
For him, being able to see Yi Yi before going to bed every night and being able to confirm that Yi Yi is still by his side when waking up in the morning is the greatest happiness and satisfaction.
Seeing that he couldn't get any words out of Gu Sihan, Luo Yiyi shook his head helplessly and stopped asking questions. Instead, he warned, "When you get out of this door later, you must go home quickly."
Hearing this, Gu Sihan, who had been silent all this time, finally raised his head and looked at Luo Yiyi tenderly. Then, like an obedient child, he nodded gently and said, "Okay!"
Then, Luo Yi stood up and went in to solve a personal problem.
After she came out, she led Gu Sihan out of the hospital.
The two walked side by side to the entrance of the quiet alley outside the hospital. Luo Yiyi took out a bicycle like a magic trick and handed it to Gu Sihan, and carefully instructed him: "Here, it will be faster to ride back.
When you get home, remember to heat up the kang first, and then make some delicious food."
As he spoke, Luo Yiyi seemed to suddenly remember something, and hurriedly took out some ribs and a lively rooster from the space and stuffed them into Gu Sihan's hands.
Gu Sihan held these things in his hands, his face filled with happiness. He said repeatedly: "Well, I know, you should go inside quickly, it's cold outside!"
Although it was already early summer, the morning breeze still carried a hint of coolness, gently blowing on their faces.
