Chapter 1167 The Deal

Chapter 1167 The Deal

Chu Xue glanced at her watch in the light of their flashlights. Since it was still early, she figured she could catch up on sleep on the way to the car tomorrow. "There's no way we can trade here anymore. In two hours, you'll take your men to that construction site in the northwest corner of the Canton Fair venue that's been shut down. But you'll have to bring your own fish-catching equipment."

Without the slightest hesitation, the man's eyes gleamed. He immediately offered a price that satisfied Chu Xue, then pointed to the two boxes on the ground: "Take a look at the contents first. If there are no problems, I'll have someone start moving the goods."

Chu Xue didn't mince words and opened the box directly.

Just as the man said, they were all good things. I don't know if it was because of the space, but I had a special feeling when I touched these things. My fingertips felt a kind of affinity. My heart was racing. These things would be worth a fortune in the future.

Seeing her staring at him for a while, the man asked, "So, are you satisfied?"

Chu Xue knew that even by today's market rates, the contents of this place were more than enough, so she naturally told the truth: "Very satisfied."

He pointed in a direction and said, "Have your people help move the box over there; someone will pick it up later."

With a wave of his hand, the man sent people forward to carry the items and place them in the designated spot as Chu Xue had requested.

Unbeknownst to them, as soon as the two people carrying the items left, Chu Xue remotely stored the two boxes into her spatial storage.

After the two finished discussing the next steps of the transaction, the man glanced casually into the distance and immediately froze. The two boxes he had placed there earlier had vanished without a trace.

He pointed in that direction, somewhat incredulously, and said, "The box is gone?"

Chu Xue laughed: "Don't panic, it was my boss who sent people to take it away."

The man was now even more certain that he couldn't mess with the person behind this young girl.

Now that the money and goods were settled, Chu Xue didn't linger: "I'll go ahead and tell them to deliver the goods. You can come over in two hours."

Chu Xue left in a hurry, took out her bicycle, and headed to the agreed-upon meeting place.

After Chu Xue left, the man behind him spoke up: "Boss, should we follow her?"

The man raised his hand to stop her, saying, "No need. You saw her skills the other day, and those two boxes were taken away right under our noses without us noticing. Do you think an ordinary person could do that?"

He glanced in the direction Chu Xue had left and said, "The people behind him are not people we can afford to mess with. Besides, we're after money, so we should prioritize harmony."

After saying this, he gave his subordinates a few instructions and left with them. After all, the next transaction involved fresh goods, and he needed to contact someone to send some out first, since his cold storage capacity was limited.

Meanwhile, in a small courtyard in Panyu District, Qi Shufang was slapped to the ground by a man: "Qi Shufang, what the hell do you think you are? If your mother hadn't come to beg me in person, do you think I would have taken a liking to you?"

As he spoke, he kicked her several more times: "You dare to harm my daughter? I think you don't want to live anymore."

Qi Shufang screamed as she was beaten, begging for mercy, "I didn't, really, how could I possibly hurt Xiang Bao'er? It was those children who said those things on purpose because I didn't share candy with them during the day. Please stop hitting me."

The man didn't let her go despite her pleas; instead, he hit her even harder: "You dare touch Xiang Bao'er? You're asking for death."

He never really cared about Qi Shufang. If his mother hadn't come to him and brought up the kindness of the older generation, why would he have married a woman who couldn't have children?

The reason he agreed was naturally to put his mother-in-law's mind at ease. She was no ordinary old lady; she had been on the battlefield and killed Japanese soldiers, and had a wide network of connections. He thought that with Qi Shufang at home to support him, he could make plans when he was more capable. He never expected such a thing to happen. If he didn't handle it well, he was afraid he would never be able to bring Xiang Bao'er back.

And this woman was indeed the one who started the evil deeds. No matter how much I deal with her, her family probably won't have the face to confront me.
