Chapter 653: A Trip to the Small Market

Chapter 653: A Trip to the Small Market

Chu Xue didn't know that someone was trying to plot against her.

There is a small market not far from the hospital. Every morning, villagers from nearby villages would bring some agricultural and sideline products from their own homes to exchange for supplies. Yesterday, when she was cooking in the patient's kitchen, she heard other family members mention this.

In order to cover up, she went there early in the morning and also wanted to see if there was anything she needed.

I turned around and saw a sapling on someone's stall. "Comrade, what kind of sapling is this?"

The man smiled and said, "These are plum trees. One is a camel yellow plum, and the other two are Dahongpao plums. They taste sweet and sour, and the fruits are delicious."

He kept rubbing his hands while speaking, his eyes full of anticipation.

Chu Xue wanted it in the first place, and seeing his action, she asked, "How do I change it?"

The man thought it was a good idea: "You can use a receipt or pay cash, it depends on your convenience."

He lowered his voice and asked, "How much is one tree?"

She doesn't have many tickets, so it's better to give her money.

The man was a little nervous and raised two fingers: "Do you think it's okay?"

To be honest, Chuxue didn't understand, so she tried to ask, "Two?"

The man waved his hands and shook his head again: "No, no, 20 cents a tree."

Then he added: "If you want all three, just give me 50 cents."

Seeing that the man was honest, Chuxue turned to look at other things on the stall. She unexpectedly found several rhizomes of Polygonum multiflorum placed next to the plum tree. They were obviously dug out not long ago, which surprised her. She looked to the side and saw some licorice, scutellaria, and bupleurum there, all of which were just dug out not long ago.

Thinking that they could be planted in the space, with the blessing of the pond water, they would not have to worry about not growing. She pointed at the ones she liked and said, "I want these too. How many are they in total?"

The man was even happier now: "Just give me 80 cents in total."

Seeing that Chuxue didn't have anything to hold the things in her hands, she took out a wicker basket from behind her and said, "You can put these herbs in the basket, otherwise it will be difficult for you to carry them."

Chuxue naturally didn't want to take someone else's basket for free, so she handed over a dollar and said, "The extra two cents is for your basket."

The man obviously didn't expect Chuxue to say that, and waved his hand and said, "I made the basket myself, it's not worth much, you can use it."

As he said this, he was about to take money out of his pocket to give Chuxue the change.

Chu Xue squatted down and put the herbs she wanted into the basket. "No need to give me change. I need to cut the thorns and weave them myself. Besides, I really need a basket."

After saying that, he picked up the basket in one hand and the three saplings in the other, and left the stall with a smile.

The man's eyes were full of gratitude: "Thanks, big sister."

There was everything in the space, so coming here was just a formality. After a look around, I found that there was nothing I needed, and I still had to make breakfast, so I turned and headed towards the hospital.

When passing by an alleyway between houses, he saw that there was no one in front or behind, so he slipped in, put the things in his hands into the space, and exchanged some flour, eggs, and vegetables into the basket.

Then he hurried to the hospital.

Yesterday she noticed that there was a small steel plate near the cafeteria. After asking, she found out that the people in the cafeteria sometimes used it to cook and make pancakes.

She planned to make dumpling soup and egg and vegetable pancakes this morning.

Because she went there early, there were not many people in the sick area.

After she went next door to explain the situation, the people in the cafeteria told her to get it herself.
