Chapter 1358 Discharge from the Hospital
Fu Yancheng, who was originally thinking of slowly getting out of bed, changed his mind: "Wife, why don't you feed me? Raising my arm will aggravate the injury on my back. If it reopens, you'll have to treat it for me."
Fu Yancheng wasn't lying. Chu Xue knew what he was thinking, but she didn't refuse: "Okay, I'll feed you."
Seeing that she had agreed, Fu Yancheng smiled and said, "You eat first, and then you can feed me when you're full. We can't let the baby in your belly go hungry."
Thinking that the chicken soup was still quite hot, she said, "Okay, I'll eat it first. The temperature will drop a bit later, so I won't have to blow on it and can just eat it directly."
Listening to their conversation and thinking about his wife's selfishness, Battalion Commander Zheng felt a pang of sadness. Apart from their son, who was her life, she herself was probably the most important person to him. During his hospital stay these past few days, she would only occasionally go to the canteen to get some food and bring it over, and she never cared about him at all.
Fu Yancheng is a man of strong likes and dislikes. Even though Battalion Commander Zheng often glanced in their direction, he would not repay kindness with ingratitude. This was not the case even with comrades-in-arms; his wife was his bottom line.
With Chu Xue's meticulous care and after spending a few more days in the hospital, Dr. Zhao finally agreed to let Fu Yancheng be discharged and go home to recuperate.
In the past few days, people have come to visit Fu Yancheng one after another, bringing quite a lot of things. So we had to borrow a car from the group and have someone come and pick them up.
Back at the family compound, Chu Xue stopped Fu Yancheng, who wanted to help move things, saying, "You'd better just focus on recovering. I'll take care of it."
Just as she finished speaking, she saw several women who had been chatting under the tree ahead coming over: "Commander Fu, you've been discharged from the hospital?"
Fu Yancheng nodded: "Yes, once it scabs over, it won't take up any more medical resources. It can just go home and rest for a while."
Seeing the driver unloading things, they all helped carry them.
When Chu Xue went back inside, she actually took out a large handful of fruit candies from her spatial storage: "Thank you everyone, here, take a few candies to sweeten your mouths."
They not only gave the money to the military wives who helped them, but also handed the rest to the young soldier who brought them back: "Thank you for making this trip and bringing us back."
The young soldier was too embarrassed to accept it, and was about to refuse when Fu Yancheng's voice came over: "If your sister-in-law is giving it to you, then accept it."
The young soldier blushed, thanked him, and then drove away.
As soon as they entered the yard, Zhuifeng started acting cute, wagging its tail and looking at them expectantly, just wanting to be set free.
This guy really went crazy in the space a few days ago, even running up the mountain and chasing all sorts of animals. If she hadn't come back last night to clean up the house and let it out, who knows how much trouble it would have caused in her space.
She gave Fu Yancheng a warning look: "You've just gotten back, so there will inevitably be people coming to see you. Don't let your guard down, or you'll scare the kids who come with the adults."
After saying that, she turned to Zhui Feng and said, "Alright, stop acting cute and charming, and calm down."
He helped the person into the house and said, "Alright, you rest for a while. I bought a watermelon yesterday, I'll cut it open and bring it over."
But when Chu Xue came back in, she saw him standing there in a daze: "What are you thinking about?"
He handed her a slice of watermelon, saying, "I was thinking about the disaster area. I wonder how things are there?"
Chu Xue thought of the watermelons in her space that were ready to be picked and couldn't help but sigh. The world was different now than in later years. Even if she wanted to donate something, she didn't dare to do it openly, otherwise she would get into trouble.
