Chapter 1382 From Mother-in-Law's Concern
Chu Xue was surprised to find that not only Fu Yancheng had returned, but also her mother-in-law.
She stood up with a delighted expression: "Mom, what brings you here?"
Madam Fu put the things in her hands aside and looked Chu Xue up and down: "Not bad, not bad. Apart from her belly showing, she hasn't changed much. It seems my grandson and granddaughter are both very caring."
Fu Yancheng quickly reminded her, "Mom, let's go inside and talk."
Madam Fu ignored those things and pulled Chuxue into the house, saying, "Come on, let's go back and talk. Let Yancheng handle the rest."
With a big smile, Chu Xue pulled the person into the house: "Mom, you must have been very busy lately?"
Madam Fu felt a surge of warmth in her heart. Of her four daughters-in-law, apart from the eldest daughter-in-law whom she had met on the street that day and who told her to take care of herself, it was her fourth daughter-in-law who had been so considerate: "You have indeed been very busy, but the busiest time has passed."
After entering the room and sitting down, I asked, "Xiao Wan said you haven't been as sleepy as before, but you've been experiencing morning sickness?"
Chu Xue was also quite helpless: "Yes, most people start experiencing morning sickness after a month or so of pregnancy, but I only started when I was almost three months pregnant. Fortunately, I can't stand the smell of stir-fried dishes, so it doesn't affect my eating. But it's strange."
Mother Fu stared at her belly and laughed: "The babies in your belly are here to repay a debt of gratitude, otherwise how could such a good thing happen?"
Chu Xue raised her hand and touched her belly: "That's what I think too. To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of a pregnancy reaction where the person can't stand the smell of cooking oil but can still eat delicious food."
Mother Fu's face was full of smiles, and she thought to herself: My grandson and granddaughter knew how to care for people even in the womb, they will definitely be good when they grow up.
Thinking of what she had brought, she got up and pulled over a bag: "Inside are some defective fabrics that I had someone exchange for without needing a ration coupon. I've checked them; there are only some problems on the edges. The color is light, which I thought would be perfect for making diapers for the children. After finding out it was multiple pregnancies, I exchanged a few more. You can use these for now. I've already told the person that they'll keep any more defective fabrics for you."
I never expected my mother-in-law to bring so much fabric, all of it pure cotton and in light colors, perfect for making diaper rings: "Mom, thank you."
Mother Fu smiled at her and said, "No need to thank me. When your eldest sister-in-law, second sister-in-law, and third sister-in-law were pregnant, I also prepared some for them, but not as much. But you are pregnant with multiple babies, so naturally I wanted to prepare more."
Then he took out two bags of milk powder: "Don't be stingy with this milk powder. Your dad and I will exchange some more tickets with someone. You're eating for three people right now, so you have to make sure you get enough nutrition."
Thinking of something, she continued nagging, "If there's formula, we should drink formula first. The doctor said it's more nutritious than malted milk powder."
Chu Xue didn't mind her nagging. In her opinion, her mother-in-law treated her better than her own mother. Of course, it was possible that her mother-in-law was only being nice to her because of the grandchildren she was carrying. But she was also a beneficiary, so why be coy? "I'll listen to Mom."
Malted milk powder is indeed too sweet; ever since I got pregnant, I haven't been able to drink anything too sweet.
She had previously wondered if the babies in her belly were all super intelligent, and she was worried that she would become diabetic from eating too much malted milk powder.
To her surprise, among the things her mother-in-law brought was a jar of dried meat: "This dried meat was brought back from the countryside by a worker at your father's factory. He happened to see it that day, so he deliberately avoided people and went to find that person to exchange it with meat coupons."
She spoke happily, but didn't notice Chu Xue's reddened eyes.
