Chapter 53: Crying for a man

"Arguing with reason is frivolous? Do you have to just accept being bullied? Mom, sometimes I really doubt if you are my real mother. What mother would not blame the man who bullies her daughter, but instead blame her daughter for resisting?" Lu Manyue looked at Li Fen with burning eyes.

Li Fen's face froze, and she said angrily, "I really regret giving birth to you and raising you. Not only are you becoming more and more disobedient, but now your mother doesn't even recognize you."

"Man Yue, your mother seems to be crazy and what she says is unpleasant to the ear. Don't listen to her. Go and rest. You have sprained your waist. You will recover faster if you lie down more." Lu Dashan waved his hand.

"It was so painful when Wei Dingbang pushed me yesterday, but I found it was much better when I woke up today. He said that if something hurts, it means it's blocked, and it's really true."

Lu Manyue had enough sleep. Wei Dingbang didn't bother her last night. The pain in her waist was much relieved, and the house hadn't been cleaned for several days.

She first went back to her room and folded the quilt neatly, then straightened the four corners of the bed sheet and pressed it under the four corners of the mat. After smoothing out the wrinkles, she picked up the broom and swept the floor in the room.

After sweeping her own room, she went out to sweep the hall, poked the stove in with honeycomb coal, and put a pot of water on the boil, intending to make a simple soup.

Li Fen lay quietly, her eyes following Lu Manyue's movements. Her eyes were dim, and occasionally revealed a hint of hatred.

"Did you really not see the shit bucket in our room or what? Take it away and empty it and clean the bucket."

Lu Manyue washed her hands and was already kneading the dough.

Hearing Li Fen's words, she raised her eyelids and glanced at her, then said unhappily, "After dinner, I'll go downstairs to empty the slops and take them away with me."

Li Fen rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, "It's really different with a man backing you up. Before, you wouldn't dare to say a word when I told you to do something, but now you won't listen to me and even talk back."

"You said it was in the past. There's nothing good about looking through the old almanac. You know how you treated me. We can't go back to the past." Lu Manyue sighed and lowered her head to knead the dough seriously.

The sunlight poured onto her beautiful face, as if it was coated with a layer of soft light.

Li Fen glared at her hatefully.

A man suddenly walked in quickly from outside and snatched the basin from Lu Manyue's hand, "Your waist is injured, why don't you lie down properly? Go lie down, tell me what you want to do, and I'll do it for you."

Lu Manyue looked at Zhu Yan in astonishment as she stretched out her hand to knead the dough, and quickly asked her, "Have you washed your hands?"

Zhu Ke chuckled, ran to the fighting area, quickly washed his hands in the basin, and walked back here while shaking off the water.

"Is this all right now?"

Lu Manyue nodded reluctantly and slowly sat down on the stool next to her.

"Why are you here?"

"Your old man came to knock on the door early in the morning and said he wanted to go back to the countryside. You injured your waist, your father injured his knee, and your mother..." When Zhu Yan said this, she lowered her voice and winked at Lu Manyue and said, "Your mother is always making trouble. He is worried that you can't handle it by yourself and that you will be bullied by your mother, so he asked me to come and help your family for two days.

He said he would give me a bag of candy as a thank you gift.”

Lu Manyue felt warm in her heart and had a sweet feeling.

"He's such a jerk. I can take care of my family by myself."

"It's a good thing that people care about you. Let me say, although this old man in your family is a little ugly, he treats you very well. Hey, if I find a partner in the future, I have to find someone who knows how to care about others like him." Zhu Yan said carelessly.

Li Fen pouted and clicked her tongue twice, "You are a grown-up girl, but you have no shame in shouting about looking for a man."

"Men should get married when they are old enough, and women should get married when they are old enough. This is the moral code of nature. Yanzi was just saying it in front of me, she didn't shout it everywhere. Mom, you'd better stop telling lies." Lu Manyue turned her head and glared at Li Fen.

Li Fen raised her eyebrows and was about to get angry, but Lu Dashan slapped her on the edge of the bed and said, "Man Yue is right, if you can't speak, just shut your mouth and don't say anything that would offend others."

"Oh, you are trying to curry favor with Old Zhu to get your son-in-law a temporary position in the boiler room. Lu Dashan, you are really capable. You are so servile to Old Zhu's daughter just for a temporary job.

I tell you, you've got the wrong person, no matter how much you try to please him, the temporary job quota won't go to Wei Dingbang, that bastard." Li Fen sneered.

"Who said that? My dad has already agreed to help Wei Dingbang talk to the director. Don't worry, Man Yue, we are friends. My dad will definitely do his best to help you make this happen." Zhu Yan said.

Li Fen couldn't speak to three people at once, so she sneered and shut her mouth. From time to time, she glanced at the door with a little impatience in her eyes.

Why hasn't her brother come yet?

Li Fen was waiting for Li Ruliang, and Li Ruliang was also waiting for someone.

He shaved and washed his face, then smeared a large amount of Astragalus cream on his face. He changed into a neatly ironed Zhongshan suit, combed his hair upwards, smeared it with hair oil, and combed it into a big backcombed style. He looked energetic and radiant.

As a result, no one came, and he even fell asleep while sitting. The air outside the door was still cool and quiet.

A fly buzzed into the room and hovered around the gauze-covered plate on the table.

Li Ruliang chased it away, but it flew away half a circle and then turned back, drilling into the gap under the gauze.

"You damn fly, I'm going to kill you." Li Ruliang took out a sharp knife and hit the fly.

The flies buzzed away in fear.
