The wound was as big as a bowl, and the surface skin and the layer of flesh on top that was nearly two or three centimeters deep were all dug out by the sharp weapon.
"How did you do that?" the doctor asked as he asked Wang Tingting to get saline solution and medical alcohol for cleaning.
"I dug it with a hoe."
Wang Tingting quickly went to the medicine cabinet to get the medicine.
The doctor frowned and said, "The shape of your wound shows that someone dug it while you were standing. Who can lift a hoe so high, and dig it straight? When you saw the hoe coming towards you, didn't you know to hide?
Only if you don't hide, the cuts from the hoe will be so continuous. What's going on? Is someone committing a crime? Do you need us to contact the Public Security Bureau to send someone over?"
"No, no." The farmer lowered his head, avoiding the doctor's gaze, his voice trembling, "No, no one committed a crime, I just dug it up accidentally."
His voice was halting and anyone with a discerning eye could tell he was lying.
The doctor looked behind him again and found that he had come to the hospital alone.
"Where did you come from?"
"Three Rivers Brigade."
Sanhe Brigade?
It’s more than twenty miles away.
He just walked along like this with his hand covering his shoulder and blood dripping?
The doctor's face was full of surprise.
"Doctor, can you be quick? I have to go back on time. If I'm late, I might get into trouble." This farmer, who looks to be in his forties, seemed to be in a hurry.
"The wound is so large. If it's not treated properly, it will get infected and the patient will die." The doctor frowned tightly. "No matter how urgent it is, wait for me."
The farmer then stopped talking, but the anxiety in his eyes grew more and more intense.
Bottle after bottle of ice-cold saline solution was poured onto the wound. It mixed with the blood and turned into lighter blood water, which flowed down and into the enamel basins that Sister Qin had prepared in advance.
After filling the basin, Sister Qin took it to the back window and poured it into the drain outside.
"It will be very irritating when applying alcohol for disinfection. Sister Qin, Wang Tingting, please help me hold the person down to prevent anything from happening." said the doctor.
Wang Tingting and Sister Qin immediately stood on the left and right of the farmer and put their hands on his shoulders.
The doctor poured a bottle of alcohol onto the bowl-sized wound.
The intense pain made the farmer's whole body twitch violently, but he clenched his teeth tightly and swallowed all the sounds.
When the doctor was about to prescribe medicine, he asked in a trembling voice: "Give me the cheapest medicine. I can't afford the expensive ones."
After bandaging the wound on site, the farmer got up and left in a hurry with the list.
Lu Manyue met her uncle.
My uncle was very tall, about 1.8 meters, only slightly shorter than Wei Dingbang. He had a very upright appearance, with a square face, thick eyebrows and big eyes. There was a soybean-sized bump on his cheekbone, which should be a small cyst.
Lu Manyue saw that his face was as pale as a piece of paper and his lips were so pale that they were almost transparent. When he walked to the door, he stumbled and was about to fall. She subconsciously reached forward to support him.
The uncle seemed to have rarely received such kindness from strangers and was stunned.
He held the door frame with his uninjured hand, stood there for two seconds, then lowered his head and walked past Lu Manyue and walked straight away.
His steps were clearly unsteady, yet he was walking very fast.
It was as if he was afraid that Lu Manyue would call him out and that he would have no contact with her.
Lu Manyue felt a little strange, but she didn't want to think about it at the moment.
Several waves of injured patients and their families had left the emergency area, and it wasn't so crowded inside. She had to hurry in to confirm whether the man sitting on the sedan chair was Wei Dingbang.
Lu Manyue carefully avoided the wounded and moved towards the young woman whenever she could.
When she had walked halfway, someone suddenly stepped forward and blocked her way.
Someone nearby pushed her hard.
She was caught completely off guard and was almost pushed out.
When she looked up, she found that the person pushing her was an old woman in her fifties.
The old woman had thin hair, which was tied into a small bun at the back of her head with a rubber band made of red wool. She wore a black cloth dress stained with grass leaves, and her trouser legs were rolled up high, revealing two skinny legs.
Lu Manyue thought she did it unintentionally and prepared to move on.
At this time, the old woman stretched out her hand and pushed forward again, and said to the person in front who was blocking the road: "Stop her, she is trying to cut in line. She is so young and doesn't learn her lesson. She has to cut in line with the injured people instead of standing in line honestly."
Lu Manyue explained that she didn't want to cut in line, she just wanted to go to the front and take a look.
The old woman was very aggressive. She pushed Lu Manyue hard again and said, "Take a look? Who doesn't want to go to the front and let the doctor take a look? Get out of the way. If you cut in line again, I will either push you or hit you next time."
Lu Manyue looked at Wei Dingbang, who was sitting steadily on the sedan chair in front of her without looking back, and slowly pursed her lips.
Unable to get through, she could only look at the back of his head through the crowd.
Soon, the sedan chair was carried to the doctor's desk.
The doctor asked the patient's name without even looking up.
Lu Manyue held her breath and looked at the young woman's slightly opened mouth.
Soon, she heard a voice saying clearly: "Wei Dingbang."
These three simple words exploded in Lu Manyue's mind like three thunders.
So, she didn't recognize the wrong person.
She woke up from the nightmare and wanted to desperately grasp the life-saving straw of Master Wei. She pestered him shamelessly, but only asked the person who showed her the way whether he was married, but never asked him if he had a girl he liked...
