Chapter 101 Marriage 1

Lin Shu nodded and went out to the yard with him.

"What's going on?" Lin Jianguo spoke first, his face serious.

Lin Shu then told Lin Jianguo how Director Zhou had lost his memory due to injury and was unable to come back to contact them.

Finally, she couldn't help but add one more sentence: "He didn't come to see us because he lost his memory."

Lin Jianguo listened with a serious expression: "Are you sure?"

Lin Shu nodded: "The name and date of birth match, and it looks the same as the portrait you gave me. There is also the scar on the elbow that mom described in her diary." This was discovered later when she read the diary written by Lin Zhi.

"He did suffer a severe head injury," Lin Shu added.

"Seriously injured? Is he okay now?"

Lin Shu nodded. "I've been seeing him for treatment these days, and he's fine now, but his memory hasn't recovered yet."

Lin Jianguo's face was heavy, but he stopped talking.

Lin Shu knew that he needed time to digest the news, so he didn't say anything else.

There was a long silence.

Lin Jianguo sighed heavily: "Does he have a new family?"

"No."

"Will he be nice to you after he knows the truth?"

"Okay, very good." Lin Shu said seriously, "Even if I don't recover my memory now, it's good for me."

Lin Jianguo patted Lin Shu's shoulder gently: "Then accept him. It's always good to have someone who loves you."

Lin Shu's eyes moistened slightly. She had imagined many possible outcomes of Lin Jianguo finding out.

For example, he resented his father for indirectly causing the death of his younger sister Linzhi, and would forbid her from having any contact with him.

For example, the best outcome would be for her to treat him as an ordinary relative and just interact with him occasionally.

But the only thing he never thought of was letting her recognize him and let her have another person who loves her.

Lin Shu had a thousand words to say, but he finally choked up and said, "Thank you, Dad."

"Well, don't think too much. Go back to sleep quickly, you have to wake up early tomorrow." Lin Jianguo looked relieved and comforted in a deep voice.

Lin Shu nodded. The other half of the wall she had built in her heart also collapsed.

The next morning, Lin Shu got up early, washed up simply, and ate a few bites of breakfast when he was dragged into the room by Xu Juan: "Hurry up, change your clothes quickly, the bridesmaid will be here soon."

Xu Juan and Xiao Qiao hurriedly helped her put on her wedding dress.

The bride's dress is a long, bright red dress similar to a cheongsam, but more elaborate than a cheongsam.

The skirt was prepared by Han Yan, who said it was made by an experienced craftsman.

"Wow! It's so beautiful." Xu Juan praised, "Even though I tried it on once, I was still amazed by it."

Xiao Qiao was also amazed: "It's so beautiful."

Lin Shu touched the simple yet exquisite embroidery on the skirt, and a sweet feeling welled up in her heart.

Not long after, the bridesmaid arrived. She was hired by Aunt Liang and was a well-known bridesmaid in the surrounding area.

She wore a red flower on one side of her hair, and her face was full of smiles. As soon as she entered the door, she kept saying happy words to Lin Shu: "Congratulations, Miss, Congratulations, Miss..."

After saying that, she began to dress up Lin Shu.

Lin Shu sat quietly in front of the mirror, watching the matchmaker put a simple bun on her hair, tied a circle of small red flowers, and then put makeup on her face.

"Your skin is so good," the bridesmaid praised as she worked on it. "And your eyebrows are so nice too..."

Lin Shu's face was hot and he just smiled.

"Okay." After a while, the bridesmaid straightened up and said with a smile.

Lin Shu opened his eyes and looked into the mirror, lost in thought.

"Wow! So beautiful, guaranteed to charm the groom."

It was not until he heard Xu Juan's praise that Lin Shu came back to his senses and felt a little shy.

Suddenly, there was a "crackling" sound of firecrackers outside.

Xu Juan, who was standing by, immediately jumped up and said, "The groom is coming! The groom is coming! Hurry up, close the door!"

Xu Juan and Xiao Qiao immediately closed the door and put their ears to it.

Lin Shu also pricked up his ears to listen.

There was a burst of laughter outside. It seemed that all the educated youth in the yard were blocking the gate of the compound. Some were testing the groom, some were asking for money, and some were asking for candy. It was very lively.

Lin Shu heard the sound of the crowd laughing getting closer.

She knew Han Yan was coming over here, so she nervously clenched her hands that were folded on her legs and looked towards the door of the room.

Bang bang bang!

After a while, there was a knock on the door, and then Han Yan's voice rang out: "I'm here to pick up the bride."

Lin Shu's heart tightened.

Xu Juan shouted outside with a chuckle, "That depends on whether the groom is sincere enough."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Shu saw a red envelope stuffed through the crack in the door.

Xu Juan took the red envelope with a smile.

Xiao Qiao continued, "Not enough, not enough."

Several more red envelopes were stuffed through the crack in the door.

"Is it enough? Is it enough?" Someone outside the door laughed.

There was a lot of traffic going on inside and outside the door.

Soon, Xu Juan opened the door.

The first person to walk in was Han Yan, wearing a brand new military uniform. His face was full of joy, and he looked at her with fiery eyes.

Soon after, some people rushed in, including the educated youth in the yard, as well as Zhang Liang, Han Yuan, Qin Hao and others brought by Han Yan.

Everyone had smiles on their faces, kept saying happy words, and kept praising the bride and groom.

Lin Shu's face turned red and he lowered his head shyly.

"The bride is shy..." the crowd began to laugh and cheer.

Han Yan came over, stretched out his hand in front of her, and said gently: "Shu'er, I'm here."
