"Wondering why you are so popular?" Lin Shu joked with a smile.
Han Yan was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "No matter how popular you are, it's still yours."
Lin Shu's face flushed, and he glared at him. This guy... didn't even look where he was.
Han Yan's eyes were full of smiles. He picked up the lean meat from his plate and transferred it to hers, then picked up the fat meat from her plate.
Lin Shu looked at him with a smile.
Suddenly, she keenly caught a sight directed at her.
Lin Shu looked up.
She was a very beautiful and elegant female soldier, more beautiful than any of the female soldiers she had just seen.
The two looked at each other for several seconds before the female soldier looked away.
Lin Shu didn't think much about it and lowered his head to start eating.
"Hey, brother, are you here to eat?" A tall, handsome soldier sat down next to Han Yan and said with a smile, placing his plate of food on their table. "You don't mind having one more, do you?"
Han Yan glanced at him with disdain and said lightly, "I mind."
"Oh, I don't mind." He said nonsense seriously, and looked at Lin Shu curiously for several times, "This is my sister-in-law, right? Why don't you introduce her to me?"
Lin Shu found it funny and guessed that this should be the instructor Gao mentioned in Han Yanxin.
Han Yan glanced at him and said, "You are not important."
"I'm very important." He didn't care at all and said with a playful smile: "Hello, sister-in-law, I'm Gao Feng, his good brother."
"Hello, I'm Lin Shu." Lin Shu said with a smile, "I heard him mention you."
"Oh?" Instructor Gao looked flattered and leaned closer to Han Yan. "I knew I was important to him."
"Shut up." Han Yan pushed his face away with a finger and said in a deep voice.
"Okay, okay, shut up, shut up." Instructor Gao glanced at Lin Shu and Han Yan from time to time while eating, his face full of gossip.
In a short while, he started talking again.
Han Yan looked helpless.
Lin Shuyan's eyes narrowed slightly. He wondered how two people with such different personalities could become brothers.
After the two of them had lunch, Han Yan went out again.
Lin Shu went back to take a nap and then continued to write about what he wanted to buy.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Cao came to see Lin Shu: "Xiao Lin, do you want to go to the vegetable garden with me?"
Lin Shu's eyes lit up and he said happily, "Okay." He also had something he wanted to ask her.
"Can I grow my own vegetables here?" Lin Shu asked curiously as he walked.
"Of course you can," Mrs. Cao said with a smile. "There's plenty of land here. If you want to plant something, just tell Director Yu and ask him to allocate you a piece of reclaimed land."
"Is there someone who specializes in clearing wasteland?"
"Yes, we will go when we are free, and they will come to help when they are free after training."
Lin Shu nodded.
They soon arrived at the vegetable garden that Mrs. Cao had mentioned.
But it was not the small vegetable garden that Lin Shu had imagined. At a glance, it was a large, neatly arranged area.
There were some people watering the vegetables around, and when they saw them, they came over and greeted them.
"Are you surprised?" said Mrs. Cao.
“I didn’t expect it to be that big.”
"Most of it is grown by the troops themselves. They take turns to take care of it, so it can be considered self-sufficient."
"Look, that's mine." Mrs. Cao said, pointing to a piece of vegetables.
Lin Shu saw the lush greens of vegetables. "They're growing really well," she praised.
"You have such a sweet mouth." Mrs. Cao said with a smile.
Lin Shu suddenly remembered the scene with Han Yan at noon, and his face turned red.
"By the way, when are you going to warm up the house?"
A greenhouse? Han Yan hadn't told her about it. "I'll go back and ask," Lin Shu said.
"Yes. Tell me if you're sure, and I'll come over to help." Mrs. Cao said as she picked vegetables, "You don't have to buy any more vegetables, just pick them from my side."
"No, no." Lin Shu waved his hand, "We'll buy some ourselves."
"You're welcome," Mrs. Cao said cheerfully, "I can't finish it at home anyway."
Lin Shu thought about it and agreed: "Then I'll trouble Sister Cao."
"What's the trouble? I'll pick some and try them tonight."
"Okay." This time Lin Shu readily accepted her kindness.
She also almost knew Mrs. Cao's personality.
"That's right," Mrs. Cao said. "I like dealing with straightforward people. Those who beat around the bush and talk make people guess."
Lin Shu smiled slightly.
Han Yan brought back dinner from the cafeteria.
He said that I should take a good rest for the next two days and we will see later. If I don’t want to cook, he can bring it back from the cafeteria.
Lin Shu stir-fried a dish of vegetables given by Mrs. Cao.
"Did Mrs. Cao give it to you?" Han Yan asked.
Lin Shu nodded and looked at him with admiration: "You can guess this."
Han Yan smiled and said, "You just came here. Besides Sister Cao, who else do you know?"
Lin Shuhan smiled: "That's right."
"When are we going to warm up the house?" Lin Shu asked Han Yan as he passed the fat meat on the plate.
Han Yan naturally picked it up and ate it. "Can it be the day after tomorrow? Will it be too late?"
Lin Shu thought about it and decided that it would be better to do it sooner rather than later, so he nodded.
"Don't worry about the tables and chairs," Han Yan said. "Wait a minute, I'll make a list for you. You can decide what dishes to prepare. I'll ask the canteen chef to help purchase some tomorrow."
Lin Shu nodded with a smile, then said with some concern, "Is this okay?"
"It's okay, I just asked someone to bring some back on the way." Han Yan paused and said, "I'll ask some sisters-in-law to come and help you."
