Chapter 139 Amnesia

No, Lin Shu stared at Han Yan, and her feeling told her that this was really Han Yan.

"Number Nine, they are..."

At this time, someone came in and asked.

Lin Shu looked up.

It was the man with long eyebrows and almond-shaped eyes whom they almost bumped into when they came in just now.

"Number six, number six." Number nine slid up to him, gesturing with his hands. "That's number two's wife. Turns out number two wasn't bragging."

The man called number six glared at him with a look of disgust: "Be serious."

Lin Shu now understood that "Number 2, Number 6, Number 9" were the code names for Han Yan and his team's mission.

"Hello." Lin Shu smiled and spoke first, "I am Han Yan's wife, Lin Shu."

Lin Shu glanced at Han Yan. It was unlikely that he could introduce someone now.

"I am Han Yan's comrade-in-arms, Gao Jin." Instructor Gao said immediately.

"Hello, I'm Han Yan's comrade-in-arms Liu Yong." He saluted her.

After he finished speaking, he looked at Han Yan and said, "Number two, the doctor will be here soon."

Lin Shu suddenly looked at Han Yan, his heart tightening: "Are you feeling unwell?" Then he stepped forward and grabbed his hand, wanting to take his pulse.

Not wanting to, Han Yan immediately withdrew his hand.

Lin Shu was stunned. The worry he had felt for him over the past two days suddenly turned into grievance, and tears welled up in his eyes uncontrollably.

"You, don't cry, don't cry..." Han Yan's face was full of panic. He stretched out his hand to wipe her tears, but seemed to think of something and retracted his hand.

Lin Shu quickly grabbed his hand, holding back tears.

Instructor Gao on the side winked at Xiang Jun and Liu Yong.

The three men quietly walked out of the ward and closed the door.

After the door was closed, Lin Shu could no longer hold back his tears and they streamed down.

Before she saw him, she thought, no matter what he became, as long as he was alive, it would be fine.

But after seeing him, she couldn't help but want more.

She wanted him to touch her hair affectionately like before.

She wanted him to kiss her cheek lovingly like before.

She wanted him to hold her in his arms as domineeringly as before...

Instead, like this, although there is love in his eyes, there is also restraint and unknown alienation...

The more Lin Shu thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. She lowered her head, buried her face in his warm, slightly rough palm, and began to cry.

"Don't cry, don't cry... It's all my fault, my fault." Han Yan's tone was filled with helplessness and anxiety.

"It's your fault, your fault." Lin Shu choked.

"Yes, yes, it's my fault."

"So where did you go wrong?"

"My mistake was—"

There was silence for a moment.

"Tell me where you went wrong." Lin Shu sobbed and couldn't help asking.

At this moment, Lin Shu felt his hand gently placed on her head.

Then a sigh was heard.

"My mistake was that I forgot my beloved daughter-in-law."

"My mistake was making my beloved daughter-in-law sad and crying."

"The mistake is—"

Lin Shu suddenly looked up and widened his eyes.

"You," she said hoarsely, "what did you just say?"

"I'm sorry." A trace of heartache flashed in Han Yan's eyes. He raised his hand and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes. "I don't remember you."

Lin Shu's heart felt like it was stabbed by an arrow.

The hand holding Han Yan unconsciously loosened.

Han Yan hurriedly grabbed her hand and said, "Give me some time, I'll remember it."

There was a hint of pleading in his eyes.

There was silence for a few seconds.

Feeling his grip tightening, Lin Shu struggled for a moment and said in a deep voice, "Let go."

"No, I won't."

"Let go."

"No, you promised me."

"I--"

Boom boom boom!

A knock on the door outside the ward interrupted Lin Shu's words.

"The doctor is here."

It was Instructor Gao's voice.

"Let go first." Lin Shu calmed down.

"I won't let go." Han Yan looked stubborn.

"Be good and listen." Lin Shu coaxed gently, "Let the doctor come in first."

"Okay, alright." Han Yan finally let go of her hand.

Lin Shu immediately took out a tissue from the space and wiped away his tears.

When she opened her eyes, Han Yan looked at her in surprise, wanting to say something but stopping himself.

Lin Shu paused for a moment before remembering that Han Yan in front of him had lost his memory.

However, Lin Shu calmly put the used tissue back into the space.

She believed that Han Yan would still keep her secret as before.

"Please come in." Lin Shu turned and shouted towards the door.

"Don't tell anyone." Han Yan moved closer to her and said quickly and quietly, looking at her seriously.

Lin Shu was stunned, then felt warm in his heart and nodded with a smile.

The doctor pushed the door open and came in, followed by Instructor Gao, Xiang Jun and Liu Yong.

Instructor Gao looked at Lin Shu worriedly.

Lin Shu shook his head slightly at him, indicating that he was fine.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" the doctor walked to Han Yan's bedside and asked.

"Doctor." Han Yan regained his usual calm expression. "I have lost my memory."

"Amnesia?" The doctor said seriously, "Why didn't you mention it when you woke up?"

Han Yan couldn't help but look at Lin Shu, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes: "I forgot my wife. To be more precise, I only lost the memory of her."

A hint of surprise flashed across the doctor's face. He thought for a moment that this situation was relatively rare. "According to our previous examination of you, you didn't find any injuries on your head."

Han Yan nodded: "I only remember being hit on the head, but I didn't feel any discomfort at the time."
