Lin Shu breathed a sigh of relief and quickly changed the subject: "Let's go quickly, or we'll get scolded."
The three of them hurried over and followed the team leader to the cornfield allocated to them.
Lin Shu looked ahead at the vast field of corn stalks taller than they were. She had a feeling the work ahead wouldn't be easy.
"You two are new here, so follow along and learn first." The team leader stared at Lin Shu and Xu Juan and said sternly, "Don't fall behind."
Lin Shu and Xu Juan both nodded nervously.
"Don't worry." Wang Fang whispered to comfort him, "Mrs. Zhou may look a little strict, but she's actually kind-hearted."
Then, she put on the hat in her hand, looked at Lin Shu and the others worriedly and said, "Why don't you wear hats? These leaves are very sharp."
Only then did Lin Shu realize that most people were wearing hats similar to Wang Fang's, with cloth hanging down around the hats, leaving only the front part of the face exposed.
There are even young girls who wrap their entire heads and necks with scarves, leaving only their eyes exposed.
Lin Shu and Xu Juan looked at each other in bewilderment. They only wore gloves.
"It's okay." Wang Fang thought for a moment and said, "Today is your first time doing this, so you can take your time. Just be careful later."
Lin Shu nodded and put on the gloves she had brought with her. Fortunately, she had considered that they would be necessary for work and had prepared several pairs in advance.
"Lin Shu, thank goodness you gave me the gloves." Xu Juan said thankfully, "You're so thoughtful."
Lin Shu smiled: "Zhou Quan will not forget the hat."
After saying that, their faces suddenly fell, and they were worried that their necks and faces would be scratched by the corn leaves.
