Liu Fang breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to herself, "I said it's impossible. How could it be possible? Clearly in my previous life—"
Liu Fang immediately covered her mouth, looked at Lin Shu in horror, and ran out.
Previous life? Lin Shu looked sharply at the direction Liu Fang left.
She had a bold idea: if she could have memories of her past life, why couldn't others?
Then, Liu Fang's inexplicable hatred towards her can be explained.
But who was she in her previous life?
Lin Shu searched through his memories of his past life but couldn't find anyone who matched him.
Lin Shu thought about it for a long time, but had no idea at all. He could only put the matter aside for the time being and pay more attention to Liu Fang.
At night, Lin Shu lay on the bed staring at the dark ceiling.
Although she swore that Han Yan would be fine, if he really couldn't get better...
No, it won't. She bit her lip tightly and immediately closed her eyes, forcing herself not to think about it.
The next morning.
Because he didn't sleep well at night, Lin Shu felt dizzy and had to wash his face with cold water several times before he woke up.
She forced herself to go to the clinic, but she was absent-minded the whole day. Fortunately, no one came to see a doctor that day.
In the evening, she rushed to Aunt Liang's house as soon as she got off work.
Not only does she have to treat Aunt Liang today, she also has to talk to Han Yan.
Along the way, Lin Shu could hear people in the team discussing Han Yan's family affairs from time to time.
"I heard that Han Er's youngest son is paralyzed."
"Ah, is this true? That's impossible."
"Why not? Did you see that car yesterday? It was the one that brought him back. Someone even saw him being carried out of the car."
"Tsk tsk, this is really unlucky. The mother is going to die at any time, and the son is paralyzed again."
"He's so young, and he can't even find a wife, yet he used to complain about this and that. Look at how arrogant he is."
"Hey, look at you, you're such a jerk. You wanted to marry your daughter off to someone, but they didn't agree, did they?"
"You said that the Han family's affairs have been going on for a long time. Isn't this a violation of something?"
"Ugh, let go, why are you covering my mouth?"
"You're killing yourself, talking about this."
“…”
She suppressed her unhappiness, quickened her pace, and ignored their discussion.
After Lin Shu finished treating Aunt Liang, he went to Han Yan's room.
The door of the room was still closed. Lin Shu took a deep breath and raised his hand to knock.
"Who?" Han Yan's voice came from inside.
"It's me."
There was silence for a moment.
"Come in, the door is not locked."
Lin Shu breathed a sigh of relief. She was afraid to hear the words asking her to go back again.
Lin Shu pushed the door open and went in.
Han Yan was leaning on the bed and looking at her.
Their eyes met, and Han Yan looked away first.
"Sit down," he said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry, I can't get out of bed to greet you."
Lin Shu's heart ached. "It's okay," she said casually.
The room fell silent.
"Han Yan, let's talk."
Han Yan hummed softly.
The evening sun shone through the window onto Han Yan's thin and pale face. He kept his eyes downcast.
Lin Shu's nose felt sore and she quickly let out a breath.
"Qin Hao told me about your physical condition."
"Um."
"Han Yan, I want to see your injuries." Lin Shu said softly, "Didn't the doctor say it's almost impossible to stand up? That means it's still possible to stand up."
Han Yan clenched and opened his hands on the quilt.
"I told you that I'm a good doctor. Don't you believe me now?" Lin Shu stared at Han Yan closely.
A look of struggle flashed across Han Yan's face. After a moment, he finally raised his eyes, looked at Lin Shu, and said softly, "Okay."
Lin Shu was so happy that he couldn't help but run over, shook his hand, looked at him with wide eyes and said, "It's a deal then."
The two looked at each other. After a while, Han Yan avoided her sight and nodded slightly.
Lin Shu held his hand tightly.
"What are you doing?" Suddenly, Liu Fang rushed in and yelled at them.
Lin Shu let go of Han Yan's hand and looked at Liu Fang with a frown: "Why are you here?"
"Why can't I come?" Liu Fang glared at Lin Shu, then turned to look at Han Yan and said softly, "Brother Han Yan, I heard you were injured, so I came to see you."
Han Yan had a cold face and said nothing.
Liu Fang didn't seem to care and continued, "Isn't that funny? Everyone in the team said your leg was injured and you couldn't stand up."
"I refuted them, how is that possible?" Liu Fang said with a smug expression on her face.
"I can't stand up anymore." Han Yan said expressionlessly.
"How is this possible?" Liu Fang asked in disbelief, "Are you lying to me?"
Then, she glared at Lin Shu: "Did she ask you to lie to me?"
Before Lin Shu could react, she rushed over and lifted the quilt covering Han Yan's legs.
Han Yan held the board, and his legs wrapped in thick bandages were exposed.
Lin Shu pushed Liu Fang away, picked up the quilt and covered his legs again.
"What are you doing?" Lin Shu was angrier than ever before.
Liu Fang was pushed back two steps, but she didn't say anything to Lin Shu. Instead, her face was full of disappointment. She stared at Han Yan's legs and muttered, "Impossible, this is impossible!"
"This is impossible!" Liu Fang roared like a madman and rushed out with his head in his hands.
Lin Shu looked at the direction Liu Fang left with a strange look on his face.
Then she looked at Han Yan.
