The two of them ate in silence, as if they had endless topics to talk about in the letters, but didn't know what to say face to face.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Ah?" Lin Shu was stunned. He looked up at Han Yan and said, "No, nothing."
Han Yan chuckled: "Why are you only concerned with eating? Not eating the vegetables?"
Lin Shu's face flushed, and he looked at the dishes embarrassedly, which had indeed not been touched much.
"Don't you like celery?"
"No." Lin Shu picked up a piece of celery and put it in his mouth. "I'm not picky about food."
"So what do you like to eat?"
Lin Shu thought about it carefully and said, "I like everything delicious."
Han Yan chuckled and hummed, "Me too."
"I'll make braised pork for you next time." Lin Shu blurted out.
Han Yan looked confused, as if he didn't understand why she suddenly said this?
Lin Shu coughed lightly and said, "I owed you a few meals before. I thought of the braised pork you wrote in the letter and thought you would like it.
Han Yan hummed softly: "I like it."
"I like everything you make." He looked at Lin Shu deeply and continued, "Do you like it? I'll make it for you in the future."
Lin Shu shyly avoided the gaze and hummed softly.
She quickly changed the subject and said, "I didn't expect you could cook."
"I don't know much," Han Yan paused, "I will learn more in the future."
Is that what she understood? Lin Shu couldn't help but look at him, and his eyes met his.
"Are you all full?" At this time, Li Qiu came in.
"Eat, I'm full." Lin Shu said hurriedly as he took the last bite of rice in the bowl.
After a short rest, Lin Shu began to give Han Yan the first treatment.
Lin Shu took out her tools, cleared her mind of all distracting thoughts, turned to Han Yan and said, "If you feel anything, tell me."
Han Yan nodded seriously.
Han Yan didn't say a word from the beginning to the end of the treatment, which meant that he still had no feeling in his legs.
Lin Shu removed the last needle and comforted her, "This is just the first treatment. It's normal not to feel anything."
Han Yan smiled and jokingly said, "I understand, Doctor Xiaolin."
Lin Shu glared at him, his eyes fixed on his upper body. There was a bandage on it, and he wondered what the condition of the wound was.
"What are you looking at?" Han Yan asked, as if sensing her gaze.
"Look at you."
"Look at your wound." Lin Shu added hurriedly, fearing that he might misunderstand.
Han Yan's lips curled slightly, and he hummed softly: "It's okay, they are just minor wounds, they will heal soon."
Lin Shu didn't believe it. Does a minor injury require so many bandages?
"Let me see the wound above." Lin Shu said, walking up to him.
"Don't need to watch it, right?"
"Yes." Lin Shu stared at Han Yan stubbornly.
Han Yan helplessly reached out to untie the bandages on his body.
Lin Shu raised the corner of his mouth. Seeing that his movements were not smooth, he was afraid that his wound would break open, so he went over to help.
"Let go and let me do it." Lin Shu said, bending down and moving closer.
Han Yan's body stiffened and he put his hand down obediently.
Lin Shu didn't think too much about it. She carefully unwrapped layer after layer of bandages.
Looking at the scars of varying sizes, as well as the scabby wounds, Lin Shu felt a pang of pain in his throat. He couldn't help but gently touch the stitched wound, which was more than ten centimeters long, with his fingers, and choked out, "Does it hurt?"
Han Yan took Lin Shu's hand and said, "It doesn't hurt."
"You're a liar." Lin Shu couldn't help but let the tears flow down his face.
"Really, really." Han Yan frantically wiped the tears from her face. "When you cry, my wound doesn't hurt, but my heart hurts."
Lin Shu burst into laughter and said angrily, "You're such a smooth talker."
"I'm telling the truth." Han Yan raised his hand to swear.
"Okay," Lin Shu grabbed his raised hand and said in a soft voice, "I believe you."
Han Yan held her hand in his backhand and looked at Lin Shu deeply.
The two looked at each other.
Lin Shu's face flushed and he broke free from his hand: "I'll bandage you again and get you some medicine tomorrow."
Han Yan nodded and cooperated with her obediently.
"Okay, I should go back now," Lin said as he tied up his straps and stood up.
"Then be careful." Han Yan said with a look of annoyance, "Sorry, I can't take you there."
"Don't worry." Lin Shu said casually, "You forgot I have a secret weapon. Besides, it's not too late now."
Han Yan seemed to relax and nodded at her.
After Lin Shu left, Han Yan's face was filled with worry again.
He knew that she was afraid of the dark. Her forced expression could deceive others but not him.
Han Yan's gaze fell on his legs, a trace of pain flashing in his eyes. If it doesn't get better, if it doesn't get better, then he will...
After that, Lin Shu went to Han Yan's house after work every day to treat Aunt Liang and him.
Since that night, Liu Fang has been absent-minded and her faith has collapsed every day.
That day, when Lin Shu was treating Aunt Liang, Li Qiu, who was sitting nearby and watching, suddenly pointed at Aunt Liang's hand and exclaimed, "Mom, she's moving, she's moving."
Lin Shu straightened up and looked at Aunt Liang's hand. After a long while, he didn't move.
"I really saw my mother's fingers move." Li Qiu said hurriedly.
Lin Shu thought about it, picked up a short needle, and pierced another acupuncture point on Aunt Liang's head.
Then she immediately looked at Aunt Liang's finger and found that it had moved.
Lin Shu and Li Qiu looked at each other happily.
Lin Shu breathed a sigh of relief. It finally worked.
