Chapter 78 Implicate

A few days passed.

This way.

Lin Shu's father Lin Jianguo received a letter from Lin Shu.

After reading the letter, Lin Jianguo stood up with a serious expression and paced back and forth in the room.

"What happened?" Lin Shu's mother Li Hongying, who was sitting on the sofa, looked at him like this and asked in confusion.

"Didn't Shu'er write back?" She frowned. "Did something happen?"

Lin Jianguo sighed, sat back on the sofa, and handed the letter to Li Hongying.

Li Hongying took the letter and read it. Then, she exclaimed, sat up straight, and said in disbelief, "Shu'er is looking for a partner in the countryside."

"What? Lin Shu has a boyfriend?" Lin Hui, Lin Shu's sister, who had just come downstairs, shouted. Then she hurried over and snatched the letter from Li Hongying's hand, "Mom, let me see it."

After reading the letter, Lin Hui chuckled: "Mr. Lin actually fell in love with a peasant in the countryside."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Lin Jianguo scolded with a stern face, "You country bumpkin, watch your words."

"And what was your attitude just now? Is this how you treat your sister?" Lin Jianguo said angrily.

Lin Hui pouted and glanced at Li Hongying.

Li Hongying immediately said, "Jianguo, Hui'er is just a little quick-witted, but she's not a bad person. Let's talk about Shu'er again."

Lin Jianguo snorted coldly.

Li Hongying gave Lin Hui a look.

Lin Hui quickly poured a cup of tea and placed it on the table in front of Lin Jianguo: "Dad, I was wrong."

Lin Jianguo stared at her for a few seconds before his expression softened.

Li Hongying and Lin Hui looked at each other and both breathed a sigh of relief.

"Jianguo," Li Hongying said, "How can Shuer find a partner in the countryside? We absolutely cannot agree to this."

"Yes," Lin Hui continued, "the mud in the countryside..."

She quickly glanced at Lin Jianguo and said, "How can someone from the countryside be worthy of Lin Shu?"

"Don't look down on country people." Lin Jianguo said unhappily, "He's a soldier and now a battalion commander."

"Battalion Commander, what's so great about that?" Lin Hui muttered.

Lin Jianguo frowned.

Li Hongying quickly gave her a wink.

Lin Hui looked at Lin Jianguo and immediately fell silent.

"Yes, Jianguo," Li Hongying said, "You must be quite old to be a battalion commander, right? You haven't gotten married yet at this late age. Is there something wrong?"

"Oh my God!" Lin Hui exclaimed, "Could this be a second marriage?"

Lin Jianguo glared at her but did not refute. His face was full of worry, as if he was also worried that the man had the problems they both mentioned.

After a moment of silence, the worry on Lin Jianguo's face grew heavier. He quickly said, "Help me find some paper and a pen. I need to write back to Shu'er."

Lin Shu was unaware of the small disturbance at home caused by her letter.

She sat on a stone block to comfort little Tiger, who was also sitting on a stone block with an obviously unhappy look on his face.

"Little Tiger, why don't you go play with them?" Lin Shu said, pointing to the children playing not far away.

"I don't want to go." Little Tiger said with a pout.

Lin Shu saw him hiding his hands behind his back and felt confused.

"What's wrong?" Lin Shu asked gently, "Tell your sister if there's anything upsetting you."

Little Tiger pursed his lips with a stubborn look on his face, but tears slowly welled up in his eyes.

Lin Shu was startled, and quickly straightened his body and touched his head: "What's wrong?"

Little Tiger sobbed and burst into tears.

Lin Shu quickly hugged him, patted his back, and comforted him in a gentle voice: "Don't cry, don't cry."

After a while, Lin Shu suddenly heard him hissing, and thinking that he was hurt somewhere, he quickly turned his body over to check.

I found that the palms of his hands were bruised and swollen, as if he had been severely beaten.

Lin Shu was shocked and angry, but he suppressed his anger and calmly took Xiao Huzi's hand and asked, "What's wrong with Xiao Huzi's hand?"

Little Tiger was sobbing, his face still showing panic, and he pursed his lips and said nothing.

Lin Shu hugged him again and said softly, "Little Tiger, tell me secretly, and I won't tell anyone else."

After a while, Xiao Huzi slowly said, "It was Teacher Li who beat me. She said I couldn't tell anyone. If I did, she wouldn't let me go to school."

Teacher Li? Lin Shu frowned slightly. There were only two teachers in the brigade school: Li Mei and Zhang Ying.

That was Li Mei who hit me.

"Teacher Li, why did I hit you?" Lin Shu continued to ask.

"He said I was making trouble in class, but it was the fat boy who threw the stone on my desk, and the teacher didn't hit him." Little Tiger said aggrievedly.

Lin Shu felt a surge of anger. If what Xiao Huzi said was true, then was Li Mei implicating her personal grudge on Xiao Huzi?

If it was really Xiaohu who was making trouble in class, his hands shouldn't have been beaten so bruised and swollen. How much strength did he use to hit him?

Lin Shu comforted Xiao Huzi, and when he felt better, he took his hand and sent him back.

On the way, I happened to meet Li Mei walking towards me.

Li Mei stopped in front of her with an unfriendly look.

Little Huzi slowly hid behind Lin Shu.

"How rude! You don't even say hello to the teacher when you see him." Li Mei glanced at Xiao Huzi, then turned to look at Lin Shu with a smug look on her face.

Lin Shu stared at him fiercely and said coldly, "Some people are not worthy of being teachers."

"Who are you talking about?" Li Mei stared at Lin Shu with a gloomy look.

"Who? You know it very well." After Lin Shu said that, he wanted to take Xiao Huzi away.
