Chapter 10 He Can't Die
Su Jinhui didn't make things difficult for her because she had lost face, and let her go.
"I didn't expect you to be so protective of your child. I'll make you a delicious treat tonight." She couldn't help but look at someone with a new respect.
Yan Li'an waved his hand and said, "My superiors have a mission and we will be leaving soon. You can go back first."
"Is it dangerous?" Su Jinhui asked subconsciously.
He was stunned. "It's just to eliminate the remaining enemy spies. It's not dangerous."
Watching his hurriedly leaving back, his upright military uniform was eye-catching.
But she never expected that the man she had seen off standing would be carried back three days later.
Mrs. Liu from the next door room heard the news and immediately ran over to inform her, "Mrs. Yan, your husband is injured! He's in the hospital!"
Su Jinhui felt a ringing in her ears. She could clearly see Mrs. Liu's mouth opening and closing, but she couldn't hear a single word.
She came to her senses and rushed to the island base hospital without even locking the door.
Seven or eight soldiers gathered in front of the emergency room door. Except for the man sitting on the chair who showed no emotion, all of them looked worried.
"Are you Xiao Yan's fiancée?" The oldest man present walked towards her.
She glanced at the man's clothes, the four pockets on his shirt, and thought, "Yes, leader, how is he now? How could he be so seriously injured?"
"During the operation, the enemy spy resisted fiercely and a huge explosion occurred. He protected a young soldier under his body, but he was hit by shrapnel. The situation is not optimistic now." Captain Lin sighed with regret.
As soon as he finished speaking, the door of the emergency room was pushed open.
The military doctor frowned tightly, "Who are the family members?"
Su Jinhui, who was a doctor in her previous life, was very familiar with this process. She hurried over and said, "I am."
"All the shrapnel in your back has been removed, but one fatal shrapnel is embedded too deep near your heart. We are unsure. If the operation continues, you will need to sign a critical illness notice."
"How confident are you?" Su Jinhui asked.
The military doctor answered truthfully, "At most 20%."
Everyone present was shocked. A soldier who had been sitting in silence for a long time suddenly spoke up, "What's the difference between that and waiting to die? In my opinion, it's better not to save him. He'll die anyway in the end, so why suffer that?"
He was yawning lazily, obviously coming here to watch the fun.
"Comrade Chen Kai, now is not the time for you to harbor personal grudges!" Captain Lin glared at him coldly, signaling him to shut up.
Su Jinhui glanced at him indifferently. She had seen this name in a book. Yan Li'an was one of the few sworn enemies in the army, and he often tried to trip up the male protagonist, both openly and covertly.
But now was not the time to worry about trivial matters. She clenched her fists and made up her mind: "I'm 60% sure. I'll perform his surgery."
Everyone present looked at her in shock. The military doctor expressed his undisguised suspicion, "You look young. Have you studied medicine?"
"I taught myself." Su Jinhui answered truthfully.
"Have you ever performed surgery on anyone?"
"I have..." Su Jinhui realized something and quickly changed her words, "No, but I have practiced with animals."
Chen Kai burst out laughing. "Your courage is admirable, but it would be more satisfying if you just stabbed him."
"Comrade Jinhui, I understand your desire to save lives. But surgery is no joke. Human lives are at stake. I disagree. Doing this is extremely irresponsible to yourself and Li'an." Captain Lin immediately rejected her proposal and did not allow for discussion.
Su Jinhui became increasingly anxious. "Just let me try! I won't hurt him!"
Her request was met with silence.
The feeling of powerlessness at this moment was even more profound than when she first experienced the medical dispute. She had no way to express her suffering, and in desperation, she could only choose to take the risky path.
"Captain Lin, I, Su Jinhui, now give you a military order. If I cannot rescue Comrade Yan Li'an, I will voluntarily be buried with him." Su Jinhui's words were firm and powerful.
Captain Lin looked at her in shock. "Are you really 60% sure?"
"Yes, I won't gamble my life!" Su Jinhui glanced at the operating room worriedly, "If you delay any longer, my 60% chance of success might become 40%."
They all understand that time is life.
Captain Lin gritted his teeth and said, "Okay, go ahead! Do your best!"
"Captain, how can you agree so easily? This is Deputy Captain Yan's life, and they haven't gotten married yet. Who knows if she will play tricks?" Chen Kai looked at her with an inquiring look.
Su Jinhui, who was busy putting on her protective suit, immediately retorted, "That's easy. You can bring a military doctor to observe. If I make any move that's not to save people, just arrest me on the spot."
"That's it, Chen Kai, just say less." Captain Lin gave him a dissatisfied look.
Everyone entered the operating room together. Yan Li'an was still in a coma, his face was pale and bloodless, and his forehead was covered with beads of sweat.
Su Jinhui picked up the scalpel, and each cut was steady, accurate and ruthless, not daring to make the slightest mistake.
Twenty minutes passed, Su Jinhui remained highly alert and finally successfully removed the first shrapnel.
Her knife skills were precise and her technique was experienced. The military doctor standing beside her stared at her with wide eyes in disbelief.
Just when everyone was relieved, Su Jinhui suddenly exclaimed, "Not good!"
She subconsciously looked at the electrocardiogram recording paper. The waveform had disappeared and turned into a straight line. Yan Li'an's heartbeat suddenly stopped!
Su Jinhui didn't have time to think and hurriedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but there was no improvement.
Dead?
He just died like that?
The plot in the book is clearly not like this.
Su Jinhui's mind was blank, but her hands never stopped moving.
"The heart has stopped beating. Can it be saved?" Chen Kai walked quietly to the side of the military doctor.
The military doctor replied with regret, "My condolences."
The operating room was the size of a palm, and their conversation could be clearly heard by everyone.
Su Jinhui was already exhausted, but still insisted on performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him.
This was the second life lost in her hands, and she was unwilling to accept it! Yan Li'an couldn't die!
Chen Kai strode over and said, "Comrade Su, don't waste your energy. We need to arrange for someone to prepare the remains of Deputy Commander Yan. He won't die! He is not dead!" Su Jinhui murmured.
Rather than answering Chen Kai's words, she was more like talking to herself.
"Comrade Jinhui, you have done your best. Leave the rest to us." Captain Lin was heartbroken.
Chen Kai winked at his soldiers, "Take Comrade Su Jinhui away immediately! Arrange for someone to tidy up Comrade Yan Li'an."
"I won't leave! He won't die! I can save him!" Su Jinhui shouted at the top of her lungs.
As the two soldiers approached and were about to drag Su Jinhui away by force, the electrocardiogram detector suddenly made a beep, and the lines on the diagram began to fluctuate again...
