Chapter 24 Misdiagnosis
"Okay." Chen Jun knew that she had made up her mind, so he stopped trying to stop her. He got up without even bothering to eat and went to organize the documents.
Fortunately, the information was organized into categories in an orderly manner. After a few minutes, Chen Jun placed the information in front of her.
After Chen Jun sat down, he slowly explained, "Not only does this include long-standing, difficult-to-treat illnesses, but there are also some medical records from other doctors for your reference. After all, you're new to the hospital, so it's always a good idea to learn more."
"Okay, you make sense, thank you very much." Su Jinhui nodded modestly.
Although this was not her first time working in a hospital, there were several decades between them, so it was not a bad thing for her to better understand the thinking logic of doctors of this era.
She flipped through the medical records while eating, and it only took three minutes for her expression to go from curiosity to seriousness.
"Is there any problem?" Chen Jun swallowed the fish in his mouth and asked in confusion.
Su Jinhui pointed to the word "gastritis" that was finally diagnosed. "This patient clearly has stomach cancer. Why is it called gastritis? Isn't this a misdiagnosis?"
"What did you say?" Chen Jun quickly put down his chopsticks and took a quick look at the patient's condition. The doctor's name at the end of the medical record was Luo Ping. "How did you know that the patient had stomach cancer? Doctor Luo Ping is also an experienced doctor. He wouldn't make such a mistake."
"The patient has developed symptoms of bleeding and is often in pain. Many times, the symptoms of gastric cancer do resemble common stomach problems, but I can be sure that this patient has gastric cancer. This is a misdiagnosis!" Su Jinhui became increasingly excited.
She didn't care about anything else, she just felt sorry for the patients' wasted treatment time.
Although it is only one month away, if the disease is serious, the patient may lose his life within this month!
Chen Jun gritted his teeth, his face solemn, "How sure are you?"
"Ten points!" Su Jinhui's eyes were bright and unwavering.
At this moment, Chen Jun's heart began to beat fast. If he pointed out the mistake, it would undoubtedly be a slap in the face of Dr. Luo, who was about to be promoted to director. Now was the critical moment!
Perhaps sensing Chen Jun's concerns, Su Jinhui couldn't help but remind him, "Doctor Chen, this is a life! If we choose to stand by and watch, then both you and I will be sinners!"
She didn't want to morally blackmail the other party, but they knew in their hearts what time meant to the patient.
"I will help you contact the patient, you just focus on saving him, and I will explain the rest to Dr. Luo." Chen Jun made up his mind.
After all, human life is at stake, and it was indeed a mistake made by Dr. Luo, so he should be held responsible.
After lunch, Chen Jun took the apple on the table and ran to Luo Ping's clinic.
"Xiao Chen, you have so many patients, how do you have time to come to me?" Luo Ping stood up and welcomed him with a smile.
Chen Jun smiled unnaturally, "I have something to tell you. Try this apple. It just arrived in the mail."
"Wow, it's big and red. This fruit is really good!" Luo Ping took the apple and said, "Just tell me what you want to say."
He no longer hid anything and directly took out the medical record and placed it in front of the other person. "Do you remember this patient?"
Luo Ping opened his eyes and examined her carefully for a moment. "Of course I remember. This is my patient, Chen Ke. She was rolling on the ground in severe stomach pain!"
He suddenly stopped mid-sentence and asked in confusion, "Why are you asking about my patient all of a sudden? And, this is the medical record I wrote, right?"
"You wrote it, but you may have misdiagnosed Chen Ke's disease. It's not gastritis but gastric cancer!" Chen Jun said straight to the point.
Luo Ping angrily threw the case on the table. "You're talking nonsense! How could I have made a mistake when I personally examined her? What evidence do you have? What do you mean by looking through my old medical records? Are you trying to take advantage of this opportunity to mess with me?"
There have been rumors in the hospital for a long time, but in terms of medical skills, Luo Ping's medical skills are not as good as Chen Jun's, and in many aspects his ideas seem outdated.
If it weren't for Luo Ping's age and seniority, the position of director should have belonged to Chen Jun.
The hospital was not big, and even if Luo Ping didn't want to hear it, the news spread from mouth to mouth and eventually reached his ears.
In short, as the story spread, the days he had survived year after year with his real ability were now regarded as him relying on his seniority!
He was already feeling a surge of anger, but considering that Chen Jun was an honest and kind person, and treated him with respect, he suppressed his anger.
Now it seems that Chen Jun is not a good person at all! He is clearly a wolf in sheep's clothing, constantly looking for his key mistakes, trying to bring him down. What a deep mind he has!
"No... Doctor Luo, you misunderstood." Chen Jun hurriedly explained, but was interrupted.
Luo Ping snorted coldly, "The Yangtze River's waves behind push the waves ahead. You have such a deep mind! I really underestimated you."
"My original intention was to let Comrade Su Jinhui learn the standard way of writing cases and gain some experience from everyone's medical records. I not only gave her your case, but also picked out two from basically all the doctors. I really didn't have any other thoughts!" Chen Jun had a feeling that he couldn't wash away even if he jumped into the Yellow River, but he still had to bite the bullet and explain.
Luo Ping said stiffly, "Are you saying that Su Jinhui told you that I misdiagnosed you?"
"She means well, and we can't take chances with patients..."
Without waiting for Chen Jun to finish his words, Luo Ping threw the apple into the trash can without any hesitation, walked out angrily with the medical records, and went straight to Su Jinhui's consultation room.
He closed the door with a loud noise and his face turned pale, attracting everyone's attention.
Until they saw that he was heading for Su Jinhui, everyone's curiosity became stronger and they all came closer to listen carefully.
Luo Ping pushed the door open and walked in, slamming the things on the table. "You were the one who said it was a misdiagnosis?"
The door was not closed, and his voice was so loud that it could be heard clearly in the corridor.
Everyone stared with wide eyes and looked at each other. No one dared to speak, for fear of missing the good show.
Su Jinhui calmly stood up and poured him a glass of water. "Yes, there is indeed something wrong with this diagnosis."
"You are such an arrogant little girl! I have treated more patients than you have eaten salt. How can you be so arrogant as a little girl? Are you so confident that you are right?" Luo Ping was so angry that his face turned red and the beard at the corners of his mouth trembled.
Su Jinhui put the water cup on the table and pointed out the multiple symptoms recorded in the medical record. "These symptoms combined indicate early-stage gastric cancer. I am 100% sure that this patient does not have gastritis."
"You! Tell me! Who sent you to oppose me? It's obvious that you want to harm me!" Luo Ping gritted his teeth and glared at the other party, wishing he could eat him alive with his eyes.
