Chapter 40: Send this child back to the Li family

When Zhong Chengfa saw his mother's action, he was scared to death. He knew his mother's temper. She could really beat him with a fire poker!

He cried out "ouch" and crawled out. As he ran, he cunningly let go of Zhong Hongqing's hand and deliberately left the little kid who was crying breathlessly in the kitchen.

"Mom! Mom! I was wrong! I'll leave now!" He had already rushed into the yard, and his voice was still floating in from outside.

Zhang Chunxue walked to the corner, and before she could pick up the fire poker, she saw that Zhong Chengfa had already slipped away, leaving Zhong Hongqing crying loudly and at a loss.

What else did she not understand? This bastard son was determined to throw this hot potato to her!

Zhang Chunxue felt as if his breath was stuck in his chest, neither going up nor down, and he was extremely irritated.

Without even glancing at the still-crying Zhong Hongqing, she turned to Zhong Chengyi and ordered him coldly, "Third Brother, send this child back to the Li family right now and give him to Li Hongjuan!"

Zhong Chengyi paused holding the bowl of rice and was dumbfounded. He raised his head and looked at his mother in disbelief.

"Mom? Send it back now?"

He looked at the sky outside which was already getting dark, then looked at the food on the table where he had just taken a few bites, and said hesitantly: "This... I haven't even finished my meal yet, and it's so late..."

Lijia Village is more than two hours away from them if they walk there at night.

Zhang Chunxue heard Zhong Chengyi's hesitation and slammed her chopsticks on the table.

"Is the meal more important or my words?"

"If you don't send him away, fine, from now on, this child will be yours!"

"Let me be frank with you, I will never even look at him again or care about him!"

Zhong Chengyi was so choked by his mother's decisive words that he couldn't say a word. He felt so aggrieved.

What could he do? What could he dare to do?

If he dares to say "no", his mother will overturn the dining table!

Of course, what he was more afraid of was that his mother would really leave Zhong Hongqing to him.

He doesn't want to have a child before getting married!

The most important thing is, why? Why should he take care of the eldest brother's son?

Zhong Chengyi was almost speechless. He picked up the bowl and didn't care about the taste. He scraped the rice at the bottom of the bowl clean in a few big mouthfuls.

He wiped his mouth, stood up, and walked to Zhong Hongqing who was still wiping tears on the ground.

The little girl was crying and she shrank back when she saw Zhong Chengyi coming.

Zhong Chengyi sighed inwardly, bent down, picked up Zhong Hongqing from the ground, and held him under his arm.

Zhong Hongqing was startled and stopped crying for a moment, then he howled even louder with a "wow".

Zhong Chengyi ignored him and walked out of the kitchen with the child in his arms. As he walked, he cursed his unruly elder brother Zhong Chengfa in his heart.

"Zhong Chengfa, you bastard! You brought this upon yourself, and now you're throwing the mess onto me! When we meet later, I'll show you how I'll deal with you!"

In the kitchen, Zhou Mingli and Zhong Xiaoxiao, who had not dared to breathe loudly, exchanged glances.

Zhou Mingli watched Zhong Chengyi walk away with the crying child. She shifted uncomfortably and whispered to Zhang Chunxue, "Mom, isn't this... a bit inappropriate? Hongqing is still so young, and it's so dark..."

Zhang Chunxue picked up a piece of cabbage and tofu with chopsticks, put it into his mouth slowly, chewed it for a few times, and then spoke lightly.

"You two saw how I treated him before."

"I treated my grandson like a precious treasure, but what happened? He went back to the Li family with his mother, and it's only been a few days."

"Look at the way he looked at me just now. It was filled with hatred!"

Zhang Chunxue put down her chopsticks, her voice tinged with sarcasm, "Why would I come here to worship a grandson like this? Will he hate me if I serve him?"

Zhou Mingli wanted to persuade him again: "Mom, Hongqing is still young after all. Children don't understand things. Maybe there is still a chance to discipline him..."

Zhang Chunxue shook her head with no expression on her face.

"His mother, Li Hongjuan, is a troublemaker. His father, Zhong Chengfa, is a clueless loser. Like a dragon, like a phoenix, like a phoenix. A mouse's son will dig holes."

"I have so much to do right now that I don't have the time or energy to bother disciplining him."

She paused, and her tone softened a little, and even a faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

"If he becomes successful and has great potential in the future, I won't expect him to be filial to me. If he is a hopeless loser and has no future, that won't bother me either."

Zhang Chunxue looked up at Zhou Mingli and Zhong Xiaoxiao, her eyes softening. "Right now, I just want to spend a few days in peace and quiet. Ignore those awful people and things."

"I'll just take care of you two, my Xiaoxiao, and my little granddaughter Yuanyuan. That's enough."

Zhang Chunxue had said so much, Zhou Mingli and Zhong Xiaoxiao looked at each other, what else could they say?

Neither of them could speak anymore, so they could only lower their heads and continue eating quietly.

But the food tasted a bit unpleasant in my mouth.

After all, Zhong Hongqing was born and grew up in front of them. After all, he was only a three-year-old child.

They didn't think Zhang Chunxue did anything wrong, they just felt that the child was pitiful.

As for Zhong Chengyi, he walked out of the kitchen with a gloomy face, holding Zhong Hongqing, who was crying so hard that she was about to die, and headed out to the yard.

As soon as he reached the gate of the courtyard, he saw his disappointing elder brother Zhong Chengfa, stealthily peeking inside from under the wall outside the courtyard.

When Zhong Chengyi saw it, he was furious!

He took a few steps out of the hospital gate and directly pushed Zhong Hongqing, who was still twisting and crying, into Zhong Chengfa's arms!

"Brother! What are you doing?!" Zhong Chengyi yelled unhappily, his voice low and filled with anger.

Zhong Chengfa was caught off guard by his son who suddenly came towards him. He tried to hold him in a panic and almost lost his balance.

He was also stunned when he saw that it was Zhong Chengyi who brought the child out. Then he asked with some dissatisfaction: "Third brother, what are you doing? Why did you bring the child out?"

Zhong Chengyi rolled his eyes, his voice full of sarcasm: "Why shouldn't I bring him out? Keep him at home for the New Year? Isn't that what Mom said? She said, if I don't send this child out to you, he will be my responsibility today!"

Looking at Zhong Chengfa's expression, he was even more furious. "Luckily, Big Brother, you were smart and didn't run far. You knew to wait here! Otherwise, I would have to go all the way and personally send you to Big Sister-in-law's family home!"
