"I heard that Brother Duan has found his family, and he was so happy that he rushed back from out of town overnight!" Lan Huaixi happened to be coming back from outside when he met them returning from buying groceries.
The group chatted happily on the way.
"What a coincidence! This coincidence is wonderful. It's just that I'm usually too busy. My daughter is right here, and I didn't even know!" Duan Hongguo has known Lan Huaixi for many years since he moved here.
Lan Huaixi looked at Duan Hongguo and teased, "If you were willing to take a few days off, I don't believe you wouldn't see July. Yeah, I'm just too busy!"
"Yes, if it weren't for this thief, I really..." In truth, he really had to thank the thief, otherwise he really wouldn't have been able to find his child.
Haider looked at Duan Hongguo, her feelings still complicated. In fact, neither of them was wrong, they had just been separated for too long and had become estranged.
Duan Hongguo noticed his wife's expression and knew he couldn't continue the conversation.
Qian Xiuying, who also had a sharp eye, stepped forward and joked, "Let's not talk about Brother Duan. My son only stayed one night when he came back, and it's been half a month since then. If it weren't for the fact that he's going back to the army in a few days, he probably wouldn't want to come back!"
"Oh dear, this work is just too busy, everything needs to be rebuilt, how can I not be anxious!" Looking at Qian Xiuying, he explained, "Who doesn't want a warm home with their wife and kids!"
"Haha, that makes sense. Who wouldn't want that? But the conditions don't allow it." Duan Hongguo couldn't help but chime in.
"Dad, you're back?" Lan Yusui ran out of the room when she heard her father's voice.
Lin Qiyue followed them out from behind and saw that they had all returned.
Walking up to Lan Yuchu, she glanced at him and wanted to greet Lan Huaixi, but since her father was also there, she felt too embarrassed to say hello.
Lan Huaixi looked Lin Qiyue up and down, holding his daughter in his arms and nodding, "Qiyue has gained weight. How has Yu Chu been treating you lately? Has he been bullying you?"
Lin Qiyue glanced at everyone, shyly touched her head, and replied in a low voice, "Yu Chu is very good to me, thank you for your concern, Dad."
She couldn't help but glance at Lan Yuchu, who was looking down at her.
She was really nervous; with so many elders present, she felt very embarrassed.
"Please come in and sit down. I'll go cook now."
Qian Xiuying took the groceries they had bought and then turned and went into the kitchen.
"Yu Sui, go make tea for your father, uncle, and aunt, and take out the candy your brother bought." She also reminded Lan Yu Sui to help make the tea.
"Okay, Mom."
Lan Yusui went inside to make tea for them.
Hedelle didn't go in with them; instead, she chose to stay in the kitchen and help out.
"Let me help you cook. I'm not a very good cook, but I can help you out." Haider had already rolled up her sleeves, ready to get to work.
Lan Yuchu thought she couldn't let her mother work so hard, so she suggested, "How about I help out to both of you?"
Haider was very happy to hear Lan Yuchu address her like that.
"It's alright, I'll just exchange cooking tips with your mother. You go and chat with them!" Haider was overjoyed to hear her son-in-law call her that.
Lan Yuchu called her that because he knew Lin Qiyue wouldn't refuse to acknowledge him; she just might not be used to it yet.
It's good that he adapts first, after all, he's a son-in-law, which is different from a daughter, and it's a bit of a flattery.
Qian Xiuying had long seen through her son's intentions. He was afraid that the other party would keep Qiyue, so he had to try his best to make his future in-laws feel that he treated Qiyue very well and that she was someone they could entrust their lives to.
"Go on, there are a few of us women here, what are you doing here?" Haider continued to shoo people away.
Lan Yuchu had no choice but to leave the kitchen.
Lin Qiyue came out of the living room and saw Lan Yuchu, so she smiled at him.
"Go inside and chat with your fathers, I'll go help with the cooking." Lin Qiyue took Lan Yuchu's hand when no one was looking.
Looking at the marks left on Lin Qiyue's body, especially the faint mark on her neck, Lan Yuchu asked with heartache:
"Are you feeling alright? Would you like me to give you a massage later?"
When Lin Qiyue tried to talk to him about serious matters, he actually brought up bedroom stuff.
"Lan Yuchu, be serious!" How could she be okay? She's like a starving wolf, as if she hasn't eaten meat in centuries.
Lan Yuchu smiled contentedly, pinched Lin Qiyue's little cheek, and whispered, "You've gained some weight. I'll like you even more when you grow a little plumper~"
Lin Qiyue immediately shook off his hand and whispered, "Are you crazy? Hurry up and go inside."
Not wanting to pay attention to Lan Yuchu anymore, she let go of him and went into the kitchen.
Their actions were clearly seen by the two people in the kitchen.
"This young couple looks just like they've just gotten married. On the train, I saw them and they just wouldn't let go of each other, they were inseparable! And they're still the same when they get home!" Haider was holding some greens when she looked up and saw their loving scene.
Qian Xiuying followed the gaze and, already used to it, quickly said, "They're actually quite well-behaved. Every night after dinner, they make a huge scene in the yard!"
Seeing that the couple had a good relationship, the parents were naturally very happy.
Haider was quite satisfied with her son-in-law, whom she had only known for a short time.
"Xiuying, I really want to thank you for escaping my daughter's suffering!" Seeing her daughter's lively appearance, she sincerely thanked Qian Xiuying. "You not only provided her with food and clothing, but also sent her to high school, found her a job, and gave her a place to live. I don't know how to thank you enough to repay this kindness."
