Chapter 208: Hold my sister's thighs tightly
Gu Bohuai returned to the office and sat alone for a long time.
He was seriously injured during the war and when he woke up he could only remember his name.
It was only when others talked about him that I found out that he was married. His wife was Song Jinshu and he had a younger brother named Gu Zhonghuai.
But he couldn't remember anything, name, appearance, life story, his mind was blank.
His comrades said that his wife was not feeling well at the time and could not travel with the troops, so he entrusted her to the care of his younger brother Gu Zhonghuai's family.
After his injury healed, Gu Bohuai sent people to look for him, but the news that came back was that nothing was found.
During the war, his hometown village had become a wasteland with remains scattered all over the ground, and the person he was looking for could not be found at all.
He sent people back every year, but still could not find a single word, and he could never remember those people he should have been familiar with.
After a few years, he finally decided to let it go. Du Shuang had waited for him for so many years, and it was time for him to give her an explanation.
Later they had children, and the events of those years gradually faded into memory.
Only occasionally would fragments of memory flash back into his mind. It was a very blurry face, and every time it appeared it seemed to be smiling at him.
Gu Bohuai opened the drawer and took out the newspaper with the group photo printed on it.
He didn't know why he kept only this one.
Looking again, his gaze still unconsciously turned to the fifth person from the left in the second row. Gu Qingye's appearance vaguely overlapped with the blurry face in his mind.
Gu Bohuai put down the newspaper and picked up the intercom: "Xiao Li, please get the files of the people who were awarded medals at the commendation ceremony. I need them now."
That afternoon, a thick stack of files appeared on his desk.
Gu Bohuai asked the communicator to close the door and go out. He took out one of the copies, and on the cover was written "X|Military|Region-Special|Fighting|Team-Gu Qingye".
The one-inch photo was much clearer than the one in the newspaper, and Gu Bohuai finally understood why Gu Hongying insisted that Gu Qingye looked more like his child than Gu Yuanzheng.
It felt like there were drums hammering in his temples, veins bulged on his forehead, and his headache came back again.
Gu Bohuai leaned back in his chair, pinching his brows, quietly waiting for the waves of pain to pass.
He had gotten used to this kind of pain over the years, but this time the pain seemed particularly long.
Cold sweat dripped down his temples, and the muscles on his face were cramped from exerting too much force. He clenched his fists, and fingerprints were deeply embedded in his palms.
He didn't know if this was the pain that was supposed to come or because of the photo.
Gu Qingye, Jiang Province, Hongqi Commune, Qiaoshan Village.
His hometown is indeed in Jiangxi Province, but it is not Qiaoshan Village, Hongqi Commune.
When Gu Bohuai saw the column for his father, his heart skipped a beat. How could it be "Gu Zhonghuai"? !
His younger brother's name is Gu Zhonghuai, which is only one character different from Gu Qingye's father!
Is this a coincidence?
Gu Bohuai stood up and fell back again. The needle-like pain began to torture his nerves again, until a name suddenly popped up in his mind -
Song Brocade Book.
The ex-wife he couldn't remember and whose life or death he didn't know.
He didn't know why he suddenly thought of this name, nor could he sort out the chaotic thoughts in his mind, but after many years, there was suddenly a clue, and he had to investigate.

Du Shuang went straight to her elder brother Du Guanghan's house last night, but unfortunately no one showed up until 10 o'clock in the evening, so she had to give up.
She was restless all night and kept her eyes open until dawn. She finally waited until Gu Bohuai went to work. She went straight to the Ministry of Education, where Du Guanghan was the current vice minister.
Du Guanghan had heard from his wife that his sister had been waiting for him all night, and wanted to ask her what was the matter today, but Du Shuang came to the unit early in the morning.
"What happened? Why are you so anxious?" Du Guanghan stood up and made tea for Du Shuang. "Try this. It's a ten-year-old Pu'er tea. It tastes mellow and fragrant."
Du Shuang turned a blind eye to all this, with a serious face: "Are you free now? I have something to talk to you about."
"Now?" Du Guanghan was stunned for a moment, and seeing that her expression did not look fake, he immediately said, "Okay, it's not convenient here, let's talk outside."
Although Du Guanghan is the deputy minister, he is not very busy on weekdays, and it seems that he is accustomed to leaving as soon as he arrives.
The once famous Du family has been going from bad to worse since the death of Mr. Du. The eldest son Du Guanghan has little ability and he has managed to get the position of deputy minister thanks to his family's influence.
The second son, Du Guangsheng, is quite clever, but he is devoted to reading books of sages. He is now teaching at Peking University and ignores everything else.
The two daughters of the Du family are living a good life.
Du Shuang is peacefully working as the wife of her leader. Her younger sister Du Xue works in the Shanghai branch of the China News Service. Her husband is the leader of the Shanghai Beicai Text Bureau, and the couple is living a prosperous life there.
Du Guanghan knew very well that he couldn't climb up by himself, and if he wanted to get ahead, he might as well cling to his sister's thigh. After the old man passed away, he could be said to have responded to Du Shuang's every request.
He personally drove Du Shuang to a quiet courtyard, and a charming young woman walked out of the house.
"Ayun, go make a pot of tea and bring it to the study."
The young woman nodded and left. Du Shuang took a few glances at her and then looked at Du Guanghan coldly.
She didn't care whether her brother had a concubine or not, but what she was about to say was no joke.
"Are you sure it's safe here?"
Du Guanghan waved his hand and said, "Of course, sister, if you have anything to say, just tell me."
Soon, the young woman came back with tea. She didn't look up, put down the tea tray, closed the door and went out. She also walked past the window carefully to show that she would never eavesdrop.
Du Shuang looked at the carefree Du Guanghan and suddenly felt annoyed.
If her father had not passed away early and her second brother had not been a person who turned a deaf ear to the world outside, she would not have come to find this eldest brother who had accomplished nothing.
She had been a housewife for many years and had no one to turn to.
"Are you sure Song Jinshu is dead? Are you sure there are two dead bodies?"
Du Guanghan almost spit out the tea he had just drunk and choked several times before he put the unstable cup on the coffee table.
The days of peace had lasted too long, and the phrase "one corpse, two lives" was really stimulating. For a moment, he even failed to remember the familiar yet unfamiliar name.
"Song Jinshu? Who?"
Du Shuang's breath was stuck in his chest, his eyes were like knives: "Who did you say it was!"
The memories of more than 20 years ago had long since rotted away to ashes in Du Guanghan's mind. He frowned and thought for half a minute before he remembered who Song Jinshu was.
At the beginning, Gu Bohuai was under the command of Mr. Du. Du Shuang fell in love with him at first sight and had been madly in love with him for many years. However, Gu Bohuai and Song Jinshu were childhood sweethearts and had a very good relationship.
If those things hadn't happened later, Du Shuang wouldn't have become Mrs. Gu today.
Du Guanghan recalled for a while before saying, "Didn't she die of dystocia? One body, two lives lost. That's what Gu said herself."
He went there in person at the time and saw two graves, one big and one small, standing on the mountain.
"Think again, is there anything you missed?"
