“A new friend,” Qin Xiaoxiao said, her eyes crinkling as she took the hose from her hand. “Mom, let me help you.”
As soon as Yang Qingheng left Qin Xiaoxiao's sight, her legs went weak and she squatted down, pressing her cold palms tightly against her abdomen.
"Yang Qingheng, what's wrong?" Tang Bainian ran out from the shadows, his voice tight, both angry and worried. "Did she bully you?"
Yang Qingheng's face turned pale, and she shook her head helplessly: "No, I'm just not feeling well."
Tang Bainian was at a loss. Seeing her clutching her stomach, a sudden idea flashed into his mind. His ears turned red, and he took her arm and said, "Come on, let's go to my car first. I have hot water in my car."
Yang Qingheng felt dizzy and couldn't care less about anything else, so she obediently got into the car with him.
"Drink some hot water first," Tang Bainian coughed lightly, unscrewed the water glass, and explained earnestly, afraid that she would misunderstand, "This glass is clean, I haven't drunk from it yet."
Yang Qingheng nodded, and it took her a while to recover before she asked, somewhat amused, "What are you doing here today?"
Tang Bainian pursed his lips: "I just happened to come here today to see Uncle Qin about something."
"Oh, then I'm getting in your way." Yang Qingheng deliberately didn't ask any further questions.
Tang Bainian lowered his eyes and shook his head: "No, it's nothing important. You're not feeling well today, so I'll take you home first."
Without giving her a chance to refuse, he started the car immediately.
Yang Qingheng was feeling unwell and just wanted to go back to rest as soon as possible, so she didn't refuse.
Suddenly, her eyes widened: "Stop the car."
"What?" Tang Bainian was puzzled, but he still obediently stopped the car and looked in the direction she was looking. It turned out that she was sending Heng Jue away, and he was carrying a woman on his back!
He was shocked and turned to see her reaction.
Without saying a word, Yang Qingheng pushed open the door and ran over quickly, her face so pale it was almost transparent.
"Slow down, Song Hengjue, slow down!" Xu Lan bared her teeth and claws, angrily pulling his ear, "Don't you know what it means to cherish a beautiful woman?"
"Xu Lan, if you move again, I'll throw you down!" Song Hengjue's temples throbbed with veins, but he still slowed down.
"Try throwing me at you, and you won't find me next time!" Xu Lan gritted her teeth.
Yang Qingheng watched the two arguing quietly, her eyes as calm as a stagnant pool: "Song Hengjue, who is she?"
Both of them were startled and stared at her. The scene was deathly silent.
Song Hengjue frowned and put Xu Lan down: "She's my friend's sister."
"What do you mean your sister needs a married man like you to carry her? Doesn't she have legs and can't walk?" Yang Qingheng said coldly, staring straight into his eyes.
Song Hengjue patiently said, "She's sick. She just came out of the hospital and is still weak."
Yang Qingheng pursed her lips and opened her arms: "I'm sick too, carry me back."
"Song Hengjue, do you want to leave me here alone? Don't forget what you promised my brother." Xu Lan's eyes also turned cold as she stared straight at Yang Qingheng's face, a slow smile playing on her lips. Yang Qingheng felt the provocation.
Song Hengjue pursed his lips, about to speak, when Yang Qingheng forcefully pulled him to her side: "If you want to carry someone, find your own man to carry you. What kind of man would you be if you asked someone else to carry you?"
He was practically ready to verbally berate her for being indecent.
Xu Lan's eyes reddened, and she was about to cry. Her eyes were fixed on Song Hengjue: "If my brother finds out..."
"Xu Lan!"
Song Hengjue's temples throbbed with veins as he pried Yang Qingheng's hands away, saying, "Alright, stop making a scene. I'll take her home first."
"Me making a scene?" Yang Qingheng suddenly laughed. "She can make a scene, but I can't. If I make a scene, it's just being unreasonable, but if she makes a scene, it's just flirting, right?"
Song Hengjue was speechless, and shoved Xu Lan onto his shoulder: "Wait for me for a few minutes, I'll be right there."
Yang Qingheng didn't agree, turned around and left, getting directly into Tang Bainian's car: "No need, you should stay with your sister."
Tang Bainian felt awkward seeing this scene, and forced a smile: "I will get her home safely."
The car drove straight away into the distance.
Xu Lan chuckled, "Oh dear, Brother Hengjue, your wife is angry."
On the bus.
The gloom in Yang Qingheng's eyes grew thicker and thicker. Tang Bainian quietly turned to look at her, afraid that she would suddenly burst into tears.
“You should listen to his explanation; he shouldn’t be that kind of person.” Tang Bainian hesitated for a few seconds before finally speaking.
Yang Qingheng pursed her lips: "I can see what he's like, I don't need you to speak up for him."
The jealousy she felt when she saw Song Hengjue with a woman on his back was genuine. In their past life, he had only treated her like that, but now she belonged to someone else.
He treats even strangers much better than he treats her now. Yang Qingheng didn't believe Song Hengjue was a fickle person before, but now she does.
Tang Bainian dared not say anything more and drove obediently.
"Slow down up ahead," Yang Qingheng said.
Tang Bainian was as honest as a quail, and the car stopped again.
Yang Qingheng poked her head out with a smile: "Big brother, did you have any sales today? I just saw a couple having an affair over there in Qinghe Lane."
The man in the red armband narrowed his eyes, like a fly smelling manure: "Really?"
“It’s absolutely true. If I’m lying, my man gets beaten every day.” Yang Qingheng said seriously.
Tang Bainian turned around in surprise.
Upon hearing this, several people wearing red armbands took off running in the direction she indicated.
Song Hengjue turned into the alley and was about to take out his key to open the door when a furious roar came from behind: "It's right there!"
Both of them paused, turning their heads in alarm.
