Chapter 236 Song Hengjue's Blind Date

Xu Lan gracefully emerged from the room, leaned against the doorframe, and beckoned to the child: "Changchang, come back, don't bother your father."

Xu Changchang felt wronged, looked up at Song Hengjue, and reluctantly returned to Xu Lan's back.

Song Hengjue was also shocked when he heard the word "Dad". He panicked and subconsciously wanted to explain to Yang Qingheng, but he saw that the woman's face was indifferent, as if his matter could not arouse her any emotion at all.

This was a stark contrast to her tense demeanor when dealing with Tang Bainian's matter.

Song Hengjue pursed his lips and gave a self-deprecating smile.

Xu Lan saw all of this, smiled slightly, and looked at Yang Qingheng with a glance: "Isn't this Miss Yang? It's been a long time. I wonder if you still recognize me."

How could I not recognize her? She was incredibly arrogant back then.

However, Yang Qingheng's expression remained unchanged. She sized her up for a moment, looking rather uninterested: "Who are you?"

"You really don't recognize me?" Xu Lan's smile froze. She carefully observed her face for a long time but couldn't see any emotion other than unfamiliarity in her eyes. Her back teeth clenched.

“I recognize you, Miss Xu. I saw you in Xishan Town,” Tang Bainian replied, seemingly oblivious to the undercurrents between the two women. He glanced around and saw more and more people gathering to watch the commotion. He frowned slightly, tugged at Yang Qingheng’s sleeve, and whispered, “Hengjue is in a bad mood right now. He won’t listen to anything you say. Let’s go back first.”

Yang Qingheng glanced deeply at Xu Lan at the door, nodded to Tang Bainian, and didn't give Song Hengjue a single look until she left.

"Oh, still looking? Everyone's gone. What do you think of the conditions I just mentioned?" Xu Lan crossed her arms and looked coldly at the man in front of her.

Song Hengjue's face suddenly turned cold, and he waved to the manager not far away: "Get her out of here, and don't let me see her in this hotel again."

The manager was startled and bowed obsequiously, "Yes, Mr. Song."

Xu Lan frowned. She had thought that Song Hengjue would not do anything to her because of the child, but now he seemed to have gone crazy.

She was embarrassed: "I am also a customer of your hotel, what right do you have to kick me out?"

"We are very sorry, ma'am. This room in our hotel has already been booked. It was due to our poor management that this misunderstanding occurred. In order to compensate you, we will waive your accommodation for the past few days. We hope you can cooperate with our work and go to another hotel."

The manager smiled politely, and every word he said was reasonable. Xu Lan couldn't find any chance to fight back, so she could only shut her mouth in annoyance, glare at Song Hengjue, and wish she could curse him out.

Who cares about the hotel's paltry sum of money!

"Are you alright?" Tang Bainian noticed that the woman hadn't spoken the whole way and glanced at the passenger seat.

“I’m fine,” Yang Qingheng said, shaking her head. After a pause, she said, “I will hand this video over to the police. As for what happens next, we’ll handle it according to the rules. Don’t worry about me.”

Tang Bainian's eyes were dim, and Yang Qingheng probably didn't even realize how dry her voice sounded when she said those words.

Fang Nan only learned about this from Sun Rong that evening. He was stunned for a second, grabbed his car keys, and rushed home. He was relieved to find no empty bottles on the floor and no smell of alcohol when he opened the door.

Song Hengjue just came out of the room: "What are you looking at?"

"Nothing much. I heard you had a fight with Yang Qingheng?" Fang Nan looked him over carefully and noticed that the man in front of her was neatly dressed and his hair was perfectly styled. He didn't seem upset at all. Instead, Fang Nan felt uneasy and asked hesitantly, "It's only five o'clock now. Secretary Mo won't get off work for another half hour. Why don't you ask her how to handle this situation?"

Although Fang Nan would scold him every time he saw him showing affection, he knew how much Song Hengjue liked Yang Qingheng and how much they had gone through to be together, so he still didn't want them to break up.

Song Hengjue didn't care at all, and poured himself a glass of water and drank it: "No need, it's no fun."

Seeing his dejected attitude, Fang Nan, who would normally tease him, couldn't bear it today and patted him on the shoulder: "It's just a misunderstanding, it'll be fine once it's cleared up. Yang Qingheng isn't the kind of person who's unreasonable."

The important question is, if they break up, where will he get two salaries?

Fang Nan was a little anxious.

Song Hengjue suddenly looked up: "You think I didn't do it?"

Fang Nan glanced at him blankly, then couldn't help rolling her eyes: "Although you usually have a sharp tongue and a capitalist's face, we've known each other for so many years, do you think I don't know what kind of person you are? You wouldn't do something like framing Tang Bainian, and even if you did, you wouldn't do it this way."

By reporting Tang Bainian, isn't he deliberately exposing his own shameful side to Yang Qingheng? Given how much Song Hengjue adores Yang Qingheng, he wouldn't do this even if he were killed.

Unexpectedly, these words not only failed to comfort Song Hengjue, but also made him let out a cold laugh.

Even Fang Nan could see it, but that woman didn't suspect a thing; in the end, she didn't trust him at all.

Thinking of Yang Qingheng's disappointed look before she left, Song Hengjue's breath hitched, and his heart felt like it was being squeezed by a large hand, throbbing with pain.

"Should we have someone investigate this matter?" Fang Nan coughed lightly, just about to say that Song Hengjue was in a bad mood and that he could handle the matter. He was short of money lately and could take this opportunity to squeeze some money out of Song Hengjue.
