Chapter 20 Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Porcelain

They thought the small market in Xishan Town was already quite outrageous, but they didn't expect the people in Songshan Town to be even more skilled and daring. This black market has at least forty or fifty stalls. If the Industry and Commerce Bureau came, they wouldn't know who to arrest first. If the higher-ups found out, they would think they were planning a rebellion.

Yang Qingheng wasn't surprised, because this market had been discovered by the authorities in her previous life, but unfortunately that was after the reform and opening up.

"Let's go take a look." She led Sister-in-law Sun inside.

There were lookouts every few meters, ready to react to the slightest disturbance, vividly illustrating the saying "there are policies from above and countermeasures from below".

You came to the right market today!

Yang Qingheng felt a little excited.

“This yarn is nice, we can buy some so Tiger will have a sweater to wear next winter,” Sister Sun said, unable to walk any further in front of the yarn stall. “Qingheng, why don’t you buy some too and knit one for your husband as well?”

As a neighbor, she knew a little about the arguments between Yang Qingheng and her husband, and she wanted to try and bring them together.

Yang Qingheng shook her head, her expression indifferent: "No need, he doesn't care about what I knit."

Sister-in-law Sun burst out laughing: "Everyone in the village knows how much your husband adores you. Why are you arguing so fiercely? If you knit one, he'll definitely be happy."

That was the Song Hengjue of the past; now that bastard wants her to divorce him tomorrow.

Yang Qingheng thought to herself, but she still bought some yarn to take home, intending to make herself a piece of clothing.

She had only taken a few steps with the yarn in her arms when a sudden force grabbed her arm: "You stepped on my plate!"

Yang Qingheng looked at it and laughed angrily: "I'm two meters away from your stall, how could I possibly step on your things?"

The man wouldn't let it go, grabbing her arm: "You little brat, would I falsely accuse you? You have to buy all these broken plates today, or you're not leaving here!"

People around glanced at him indifferently and then looked away, as if they were already used to such things.

"You should at least have some conscience if you're going to cheat people. The bowls and chopsticks on your stall look old, I don't even know where you picked them up from. How dare you ask for this?" Sister Sun was so angry that her face turned black.

Yang Qingheng took a closer look at the plates on the ground and then pulled Sun's sister-in-law aside.

"Brother, I know business is tough these days, but you can't cheat people like this. Let's compromise. I'll buy a few plates, but I want to pick the best ones."

The man, with a face full of fat, looked her up and down before reluctantly agreeing: "Okay, the big ones are three cents each, and the small ones are two cents each."

Sister-in-law Sun was so angry that she cursed, "You actually charged three cents for an old plate? Why don't you just rob me?"

The man's face turned cold, and he raised his fist, as big as a sandbag, in front of Sister-in-law Sun, who immediately fell silent.

Yang Qingheng carefully selected a tea set and a small vase from among them.

Reluctantly: "These will do."

The man made an outrageous demand: "Two pieces."

Yang Qingheng paid the bill with a dark face, then pulled Sister-in-law Sun away.

Sister-in-law Sun was so angry that her face turned red, and she cursed all the way.

"How could this person be so arrogant! We haven't even closed a deal yet, and we've already lost money. This is really bad luck."

"No loss, I made a profit." Yang Qingheng chuckled, showing no trace of her previous frown, but instead appearing to be in a very good mood.

Sister-in-law Sun asked strangely, "Have you been scared out of your wits by him?"

"Not stupid, very shrewd."

Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain – this overwhelming wealth finally came to her!

If they weren't still on the street, Yang Qingheng would have burst out laughing.

She is now incredibly grateful that she watched so many treasure appraisal shows in her past life and read so many professional books out of interest; now she can finally put those skills to good use in this life.

I don't know which dynasty the teacup is from, but it should be quite valuable.

After the crowd thinned out, Yang Qingheng whispered something to Sister-in-law Sun.

"What?! That's an ancient..." Sister-in-law Sun was so shocked that her eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Yang Qingheng forcefully covered her mouth, and only released her after she calmed down a bit: "Keep your voice down."

Sister-in-law Sun nodded repeatedly, admiring her immensely and willingly following Yang Qingheng in this "petty theft" scheme.

They spent half a day wandering around the black market until the stall owner "sold out" all the porcelain, at which point the two secretly followed him.

"He went in!" Aunt Sun exclaimed in surprise.

Yang Qingheng nodded, and only after the man had been out of the scrap metal yard for a long time did she pull him inside.

"What are you doing?" the gatekeeper shouted.

Yang Qingheng stood obediently, her lips slightly upturned in a friendly smile: "Uncle, hello, I heard that your scrap metal recycling station sells old bowls and chopsticks, and they're cheaper than at the supply and marketing cooperative. May I go in and take a look?"

"Yes, there are some, but they're not anything good," the old man said, his expression softening considerably at her politeness. He led them inside himself. "Everything here is sold by weight, one cent per pound. Wooden chairs and tables are sold by the piece. Just give me whatever you want."

Yang Qingheng's eyes lit up when she saw the mountain of junk inside, and she nodded repeatedly, "Thank you."

The old man waved his hand and went outside.

Yang Qingheng and Sister-in-law Sun exchanged a glance and excitedly rushed towards the scrap.

Sun's sister-in-law was in charge of picking out the porcelain and paintings that might be valuable, while Yang Qingheng was in charge of appraising them.

She collected everything that looked like an antique. She only learned the basics; she could tell the difference between some and others. She planned to take them all back with her and have them appraised by experts after the reform and opening up.
