Chapter 158 Keep your breathing down

Song Hengjue glanced at the third floor, pulled up his pants, and grabbed the water pipe, ready to climb up.

His pants were suddenly yanked from behind, causing his heart to stop. He turned around and saw Fang Nan, which made him breathe a sigh of relief, but his heart was still pounding wildly. He glared at him angrily.

"You know how scary people can be!"

Fang Nan scoffed: "So cowardly, yet you try to have an affair."

Song Hengjue shook off his hand and glared at him: "What are you doing here? Get out of here."

He bent over and started to climb.

Fang Nan grabbed his pants tightly, her face cold: "Song Hengjue, don't go crazy. She has a husband and a mother-in-law now, and plenty of people to take care of her. You're just an ex-husband, your rights aren't legitimate, what are you doing here?"

"Husband? That bastard Tang Bainian wishes Yang Qingheng were dead so he could elope with his mistress!" Song Hengjue clenched his fists so tightly they cracked, his mind going blank with rage.

"You want to be a doomed couple with someone, but they still find you an eyesore. Do you think that woman Yang Qingheng will appreciate you if you go up to her? She'll just think you're a shameless simp." Fang Nan was exasperated.

It must be said that he had a very thorough understanding of Yang Qingheng's temperament.

Even he knew this principle, how could Song Hengjue not know it? After speaking, he fell into a strange silence for a moment, and subconsciously glanced upstairs.

Fang Nan thought his words had worked, so he pressed on: "Song Hengjue, think about it, what will happen to Aunt Yao if you get infected? Yang Qingheng has a family, and someone will take care of her when she is sick. But if you get sick, who will take care of you? Do you expect Aunt Yao, who is seventy or eighty years old, to take care of you?"

He punched her hard in the chest: "Alright, hurry up and come back with me. We'll find someone to ask about Yang Qingheng when we get back."

Unexpectedly, the man in front of her remained silent for a moment, then shook his head and stubbornly stared in the direction of the building upstairs: "

The room was pitch black; no one had even turned on the lights for her.

The thought of Yang Qingheng lying there all alone filled him with terribly panic.

It's as if everything in my dream has become reality.

He couldn't imagine what Yang Qingheng must have felt in her previous life, knowing that her days were numbered, waiting alone in a cold hospital room for her life to slip away. All her moments of panic were lonely, without any family members, and even he, her husband of most of their lives, didn't notice anything amiss.

Having been given a second chance at life, she was full of hope and wanted to start over with him, but all he gave her was betrayal and indifference.

Song Hengjue felt a rush of cold air into his lungs, making his nose sting.

Fang Nan was startled by his red eyes and took two steps back, flustered and incoherent: "Hey...hey, if you want to go up, then go up, don't cry!"

It's kind of scary to see a grown man crying.

"Are you blind? Why am I crying? Haven't you ever seen trachoma?" Song Hengjue said coldly, but his red eyes had no intimidating power whatsoever.

"Alright, alright, trachoma," Fang Nan felt a pang of sadness, sighed, and pulled two masks and a bottle of disinfectant from his pocket, tossing them into his arms. "Take care of yourself. If you go up there today, don't come back to the company tomorrow, especially not!"

He declared righteously, "Don't come looking for me."

"Am I that kind of person?" Song Hengjue scoffed, casually putting on a mask, and then started climbing towards the third floor.

He easily climbed onto the balcony of Yang Qingheng's bedroom. The room was quiet and dark. He tried to open the window twice, but it wouldn't budge.

It was completely sealed off, not a breath of fresh air could get in, and he knew without a doubt how stuffy the woman must have felt inside.

Tang Bainian is such a despicable man, he has absolutely no humanity.

With clenched teeth and a sudden burst of strength in his elbow, the lock on the window clicked open.

She rolled over and jumped inside. It was quiet; the blankets were neatly spread out on the bed, and there wasn't a soul in sight.

Song Hengjue pursed his lips, searched through several rooms, and finally confirmed it.

Yang Qingheng wasn't even in this house; nobody knows where she went.

My heart skipped a beat. I climbed down the water pipe and finally my feet touched the ground.

After nearly an hour of climbing up and down, his lungs felt like a broken bellows, breathing in cold air.

"Still haven't found it?" Fang Nan sat on the grass and scrambled to his feet.

Song Hengjue shook his head: "I don't know where Tang Bainian sent her." He sent his wife to live elsewhere to avoid infection; that scumbag Tang Bainian is truly something else!

Fang Nan slowly breathed a sigh of relief. It's good that he didn't see it. It's good that he didn't see it.

He patted Song Hengjue on the shoulder: "Now you'll be willing to go back, right?"

Song Hengjue was lost in his own thoughts and remained silent.

Fang Nan frowned and reminded him, "Could you please keep your breathing quieter?"

Knowing he was exhausted, but judging by the way he was panting, if Tang Bainian were nearby, he could catch them in no time.

"Huh? When did I start panting?" Song Hengjue asked, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

The two exchanged a glance, realized something, nervously swallowed, and suddenly turned around.

Then I met a pair of bright green eyes.

Song Hengjue: ...
