Chapter 259 We Are All Family Members

Chapter 259 We Are All Family Members

A man and a woman were standing at the door. The man was carrying a lot of luggage, which he tied up with ropes for fear of falling. The woman was wearing a gray coat and holding a little boy's hand, who looked about three years old.

The man's back and aura seemed strangely familiar. Lin Xia glanced at Lu Yuxiu who was sitting next to her, and thought of the comrades who had come to her house for dinner before. Suddenly, she realized that this family must have also asked for leave to go home to visit relatives.

"Yes." Lu Yuxiu stood up and smoothed the place where he had sat, then helped take the package from the man so that he could take it off easily.

When they stood up, the two realized that Lu Yuxiu was very tall and there was no space left in the small carriage.

After the man put his luggage away, he hurriedly thanked Lu Yuxiu, picked up the kettle and went out to find water.

Lele was already looking at the little boy opposite him curiously, chewing a steamed bun while looking at him.

The little boy had already noticed the children in the box. He saw Lele chewing a steamed bun with a look of enjoyment on his face, as if he was not eating a steamed bun but a chicken leg.

He turned around to look at Ningning and Anan, who also seemed to be enjoying the food.

"Mom, I want to eat too!" The little boy tugged at the woman's clothes and pointed at Lele.

The woman looked over and immediately pressed the boy's hand down, looking a little embarrassed. This kind of greed for other people's food is considered bad behavior in the eyes of most people, and she was afraid of being laughed at and accused of being uncultured.

Seeing the three children eating and her own child looking at them eagerly, the woman felt uncomfortable and turned around to rummage through the package to see if there was anything to eat.

Lin Xia responded to her with a faint smile and looked at her three little foodies. The way they ate was really appetizing. In her opinion, it would be perfectly fine for these three to be sent to the future to be food broadcasters.

The little boy opposite didn't get a response to his request. Although his hands were pressed down, his eyes were still looking at this side eagerly, and he couldn't help licking his lips.

But the children went to bed late and didn’t have lunch. We can’t ask them not to eat, right?

Just then, after Ningning finished the steamed bun in her hand, she opened her little hand for more, "Daddy wants some!"

Lu Yuxiu reached out and took the big steamed bun from the lunch box and was about to give it to her.

“Drink some water before eating!” The little guy just took a few mouthfuls of food. Isn’t he choking?

Ningning held the army green kettle and took a few gulps. Lele also came to join in the fun.

Each of them got another steamed bun. Lu Yuxiu glanced at the little boy opposite him and handed him the lunch box, with half a steamed bun left in it.

"Want to eat?"

The woman was holding a biscuit in her hand. When she heard Lu Yuxiu's voice, she turned around and tried to refuse with an embarrassed look on her face. "No, no, thank you. We have food."

The little boy just stretched out his hand, but suddenly retracted it, and looked at the woman with some fear and helplessness.

Lu Yuxiu did not insist. Seeing that she refused, he withdrew his outstretched hand without thinking too much about it.

Lin Xia understood the mother's feelings very well. The child's behavior gave her an inspiration, and she secretly kept it in mind. She decided to find an opportunity to educate her children not to eat things given by strangers.

"Here are some biscuits, have some." The woman handed the biscuits to her son and then sat down.

The little boy seemed a little afraid that his mother would be angry, so he carefully picked up a piece of broken biscuit and started to eat it. However, while eating the biscuit, he saw the three children opposite him chewing it with great relish, and suddenly he felt that the biscuit in his hand was not so fragrant.

Lele hadn't finished eating yet, but his eyes had already glanced into the lunch box. Seeing that the kid opposite him didn't want any, his big black and white eyes curved and he started eating faster.

"How much has he eaten?" Lin Xia reached out to touch his belly. It wasn't cold at the moment, but his clothes were thin, and his round belly was very obvious when he touched it.

"Almost one." Lu Yuxiu recalled that there were three steamed buns left in the lunch box. An An ate one, and the other two were eaten by Lele and Ning Ning, but Ning Ning ate slowly.

The little guy stuffed the last two bites of steamed buns in his hand at once and reached out to take the remaining piece.

"No more eating!" Lin Xia reached out to take the steamed bun from the lunch box. Seeing Lele staring at her, she didn't want him to eat too much, so she stuffed it into his mouth.

Then he clapped his hands to indicate that it was gone.

Lele's face was a little puffy, and he looked at Lin Xia accusingly, and had to chew the steamed bun in his mouth carefully, as if savoring the taste.

Lin Xia swallowed the steamed bun and took a big gulp of water before she felt less choked.

She is so tired from battling wits and courage with these two little ones every day!

After dinner, An An read a picture book obediently, but the two little ones couldn't help wanting to go for a walk outside. Le Le took the lead and rushed out, and Lin Xia couldn't stop them.

"Bang~"

The man who went out to fetch water was just opening the door to come in, and he didn't even notice a little kid bumping into him.

Lele was about to fall down, but Lu Yuxiu quickly caught him.

"Sorry, are you okay?" The man was also startled and didn't pay attention to his feet at all.

"It's okay." Lu Yuxiu knew that it was not his fault, it was just a coincidence.

Lin Xia pulled Lele over and checked him carefully. The little guy was startled by the fall just now, and his head just hit the man's leg, and he didn't get hurt.

"Does it hurt?" Lin Xia reached out and touched him. "Stop running around, okay? Let me tell you a story, okay?"

"Okay!" Lele touched his forehead, nodded immediately and was about to climb onto the bed.

Lu Yuxiu stood up and carried all three of them to the middle bed. The space in the middle was small, and there might not be enough space for adults to sit on it, but it was just right for children.

Seeing that they were having fun, Lin Xia put some dried fruits aside for them and fed the three little ones. Only then could she have some peace and quiet for a while.

The man opposite looked at the three children and started talking to Lu Yuxiu. It was obvious that he also recognized Lu Yuxiu as a soldier.

After the two revealed their identities, they were able to reveal more information during the conversation. At least we knew their names. The man's name was Sun Daming and the woman was from Guangcheng and her name was Chen Huidi.

Lin Xia also understood the general situation as she listened. The two were returning to their hometown in Beijing. The man was also a soldier as Lin Xia guessed. He got married directly in the army. He had never been home until his child was three years old. This time, he took a rare leave to visit his family, so he took his wife and children back to his hometown to celebrate the New Year.

When the man talked about being able to go home, his expression was clearly filled with excitement and anticipation. How could he not be excited after not being home for many years!

But the woman next to him had no expression at all, and the corner of her mouth seemed to turn down when she heard her husband's excitement.

It seems that this couple did not communicate well!

Lin Xia didn't say anything, just observed the couple silently.

If he got married in the army, it means that he chose his wife himself. His family members don’t know about it, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law have never gotten along.

The woman was not at all excited about going back to her hometown, which showed that she was reluctant and only decided to go back home with her husband because of the opinions of outsiders.
