Chapter 7 Finding the Key Information
Gu Yunting looked at his comrades and said, "After they come over, we'll work together to take their guns and disable their fighting ability."
"clear."
Time passed by, and Gu Yunting sent Zheng Jiayu to the upper bunk, covering her with a blanket at the same time.
"Hide well and don't move around."
Zheng Jiayu nodded quickly: "I understand."
Time passed second by second, and fifteen minutes later...
The train entered the tunnel.
Gu Yunting and the other two listened intently to the sounds coming from the corridor outside, their bodies tense.
About two minutes later, Gu Yunting indeed heard footsteps coming from outside.
Although the train was loud as it passed through the tunnel, his exceptional hearing allowed him to hear the faint sound of footsteps.
Gu Yunting said in a low voice, "They're here."
The sound was very soft; only a few of them could vaguely hear it.
Gu Yunting's two comrades-in-arms stood to the side, while Gu Yunting stood at the door.
As the other party cautiously opened the door and began to move, Gu Yunting instinctively grabbed one of their hands and delivered a karate chop to their neck, instantly knocking them unconscious.
Gu Yunting snatched the gun from the other person's hand.
At the same time, two other people went out, grabbed the other person's wrists, and pushed him to the ground.
When the last person realized they had been discovered and tried to run next door to grab the hostage, Gu Yunting kicked him away, and the gun in his hand fell to the ground at that moment.
Gu Yunting strode over and dislocated the other man's limbs, rendering him completely immobile.
The other two also used the same method to eliminate each other.
They dragged the person back and tied them up.
After everything was done, the train emerged from the tunnel.
With the light in, Gu Yunting and the others looked at the guns in their hands and the people lying on the ground, their faces grim.
This weapon doesn't look like their own.
These people...
If Zheng Jiayu hadn't learned of these people's actions beforehand, the three of them might not have been able to bring her back safely.
He kicked the other person: "You've even reached your hands onto the train. Looks like your people are pretty powerful."
The person beneath his feet was kicked awake.
Zheng Jiayu also crawled out of bed and looked at the four people piled up below.
Seeing that everyone had been caught, Zheng Jiayu breathed a huge sigh of relief: "Great, we finally caught them."
Are you alright?
Gu Yunting shook his head: "Thanks to your reminder, we discovered it in time and were not injured."
"It's good that they weren't injured. They should have some kind of identification on them. Search them." Zheng Jiayu reminded Gu Yunting, thinking of this.
Zheng Jiayu's reminder prompted Gu Yunting to quickly search the person.
Sure enough, we found something on them.
Although their identities cannot be directly proven, one can guess.
One of Gu Yunting's comrades received a letter: "Yunting, look at this letter."
Gu Yunting opened the letter and read it carefully, his expression growing more and more serious as he read.
Looking down at the people on the ground, Gu Yunting said with a serious expression, "It seems we can't just leave these people with anyone nearby. We have to take them back."
“Their influence has already extended northwards. Bringing these people over might be useful to us,” Gu Yunting said seriously.
"Then we'll take turns guarding it."
Zheng Jiayu finally breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the group had found the relevant items.
Gu Yunting noticed Zheng Jiayu's nervousness and reassured her, "Don't worry, everything's alright for now. The next three days are crucial."
Zheng Jiayu nodded solemnly.
She will try her best not to cause them any trouble.
For the next three days, Gu Yunting remained on edge, but fortunately, no further pursuit or assassination attempts occurred during those three days.
Upon arriving at the station, Gu Yunting escorted the person off the train and looked at Zheng Jiayu: "Stay with me, don't get separated."
Zheng Jiayu followed Gu Yunting, clutching his clothes.
Gu Yunting glanced at it but said nothing, and quickly left the station with his men.
They walked out of the station, where people were already waiting.
Upon seeing the people in their hands, the young soldier who came to pick them up asked, "Battalion Commander Gu, who are these people...?"
“They are the people who were chasing us on the road. Let’s take them back first.”
"yes."
On the way back to the military region, no one spoke. Zheng Jiayu gripped the strap of her bag, her expression very serious.
Gu Yunting turned his head unintentionally and saw Zheng Jiayu's serious expression. He immediately said with a smile, "Don't be nervous, everyone is easy to get along with."
Zheng Jiayu coughed lightly: "I'm not nervous."
Gu Yunting raised an eyebrow at Zheng Jiayu: "Aren't you nervous at all?"
Zheng Jiayu glanced at Gu Yunting and refused to speak to him.
On the way to the military region, Zheng Jiayu's face turned pale from the jolting.
Grabbing Gu Yunting's arm, Zheng Jiayu felt like she was about to vomit: "This road..."
"This is how the road is here. You've been wronged." Gu Yunting knew that Zheng Jiayu had never been to a place like this before, so he gently patted Zheng Jiayu's back and said comfortingly.
Zheng Jiayu waved her hand: "I'm fine. It's just that I'm not used to it since it's my first time here. I'll get used to it."
Gu Yunting stopped talking and simply told the driver to drive smoothly.
The young soldier in front slowed down the vehicle a bit.
When he saw this woman at the station, he was curious about who she was.
But seeing the relationship between Battalion Commander Gu and her, I instantly realized that this person was probably Battalion Commander Gu's fiancée.
Otherwise, how could Battalion Commander Gu be so close to him?
About half an hour later, we finally arrived at the entrance of the military region.
After Gu Yunting got out of the car, he helped Zheng Jiayu down.
Zheng Jiayu leaned against Gu Yunting and it took her a while to feel less uncomfortable.
Gently patting her chest, Zheng Jiayu turned to look at the road she had come from, and then everything went black.
This was the most difficult road she had ever traveled.
Although she was traveling by car, she felt that walking would have been more comfortable, even though it was a bit far.
Looks like I'll have to buy a bicycle later.
While Zheng Jiayu was lost in thought, Gu Yunting asked worriedly, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, I'll be alright in a bit."
Seeing that Zheng Jiayu's complexion was better than before, Gu Yunting slowly released his hand from supporting her.
Thinking of something, Gu Yunting said to Zheng Jiayu, "That person I told you about before will probably come looking for trouble for you."
Zheng Jiayu was stunned for a moment, then instantly realized who Gu Yunting was talking about. She waved her hand dismissively and said, "It's okay. Tell me about their name and situation. Knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory."
"The other person's name is Song Lin. Their family has some connection with my family. They've been bothering me, but I really don't like this person." The Song family and the Gu family have different goals.
Their pursuits are also different.
In my grandfather's words, "Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together."
"I understand, let's go."
Gu Yunting took Zheng Jiayu to see his superior: "Report, mission accomplished. We also caught a few people on the way back."
