After Du Wenli opened the door, two men in police uniforms walked in.
One of the police officers looked at Du Wenli, then at Bai Lisa who was standing behind him with her head lowered, and then looked at the somewhat messy bed.
He asked seriously, "What are your names? Are you husband and wife?"
"My name is Du Wenli."
"My name is Bai Lisa."
"Du Wenli, Bai Lisha, what do you two do for a living? Are you married? Do you have your marriage certificate with you?"
"I--"
"Comrade Public Security, I'm a student at the Beijing University of Architecture. I brought my student ID! He's my fiancé, and we're getting married soon!"
Bai Lisa spoke before Du Wenli.
