Chapter 180 Humility

Chapter 180 Humility

Seeing that Zhou Xiye was standing still, looking serious and cold, clearly very angry, Jiang Zhizhi hesitated for a moment before preparing to walk over.

Unexpectedly, Zhou Xiye coldly replied, "Wait here."

Then he turned and went back into the stone house. He told the two policemen to come out first.

Jiang Zhizhi's heart jumped. Oh no, Zhou Xiye is really angry this time!

Li Yuanchao felt that his breathing became much easier after Zhou Xiye left. He quickly moved closer to Jiang Zhizhi and whispered, "Are you alright? I was so scared. It's all my fault. I had a moment of madness and remembered the place wrong."

Jiang Zhizhi was taken aback: "So that's why you're so late?"

Li Yuanchao scratched his head: "I remember it clearly at the time, but I forgot after they scared me and hit me a few times."

Jiang Zhizhi quickly reached out and grabbed his arm: "Are you hurt? Is it serious?"

Li Yuanchao is still a kid under eighteen. He's fine when he's being loud and arguing, but if something really happens, he's inexperienced and easily panics.

Li Yuanchao shook his head: "It's nothing, it's nothing. It's cold and I'm wearing thick clothes, so I don't feel any pain. It's just that we're late. Zhizhi, I'm sorry, I definitely won't do this again next time."

Jiang Zhizhi chuckled: "It's already very good for the first time. Experience is gained through repeated battles. There's no need to feel guilty."

Li Yuanchao scratched his head again and muttered, "Zhizhi, you're amazing now. You've become much more composed since you started following Brother Zhou. By the way, what's going on inside?"

Jiang Zhizhi kept it brief: "Lai Laosi and his gang drank Bian Xiaoxiao's medicine and were about to bully her when Bian Xiaoxiao shot and wounded them."

Li Yuanchao's mind was a little muddled: "Why are they fighting amongst themselves? Bian Xiaoxiao is really a jerk."

She started to worry again: "I'm really afraid she'll force you to take the medicine first."

Jiang Zhizhi shook her head: "She won't do that. She'll definitely show off in front of me first, and then force me to drink the medicine so she can see how miserable I am."

As the two were whispering crickets close to each other, Zhou Xiye came out of the stone house, and two policemen went in again, handcuffed everyone, including Bian Xiaoxiao, and brought them out.

Bian Xiaoxiao came out and saw Zhou Xiye standing by the door. Her voice was hoarse: "Zhou Xiye...you will regret this."

Zhou Xiye's expression was stern as he said to the police, "Take them back."

Bian Xiaoxiao stood still, her hair a little messy, but her eyes were filled with hatred and resentment: "Zhou Xiye, don't forget, you also promised my brother that if something happened to him, you would take care of me."

Zhou Xiye's gaze fell on her, then shifted away without lingering, looking at Jiang Zhizhi in the distance: "Taking care of you while you recklessly hurt my lover? Bian Xiaoxiao, you and your brother are actually very similar, blindly confident."

Bian Xiaoxiao wanted to speak, but the police officer came over and pushed her shoulder: "Hurry up and go. If you have something to say, go to the station to talk."

Zhou Xiye strode toward Jiang Zhizhi and Li Yuanchao.

Upon seeing Zhou Xiye approach, the two immediately stopped whispering and stood up straight.

Zhou Xiye glanced at the two of them and said, "Let's go down the mountain."

After saying that, he walked ahead without even looking to see if Jiang Zhizhi was following.

Jiang Zhizhi felt terrible. She would rather Zhou Xiye scold her and yell at her than accept this cold indifference.

She pursed her lips and followed at a distance that wasn't too close.

Li Yuanchao didn't dare to say a word, and carefully used a flashlight to light the way for Jiang Zhizhi.

Zhou Xiye was indeed very angry. He didn't know when Jiang Zhizhi and Li Yuanchao had been plotting such a big thing.

If their plan had gone awry and Bian Xiaoxiao and the others hadn't done what they expected, they would probably be dead by now.

They were together every day, but Jiang Zhizhi never talked to him or discussed things with him, which made him very angry.

He was worried all the way home because he couldn't find her, and when he met Li Yuanchao and learned what had happened, he was very angry.

I'm so angry I want to explode, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I could only walk forward in a huff, listening to the footsteps behind me, and unconsciously slowing down.

Down the mountain, Li Simin was waiting for them in the car. Seeing everyone get out of the car, he quickly got out as well. First, the police escorted a few people out, followed by Zhou Xiye, Jiang Zhizhi, and Li Yuanchao.

After calling out "Brother Zhou," he quickly walked towards Jiang Zhizhi: "Zhizhi, are you alright? There was a slight mishap on our end, which is why we're late."

Jiang Zhizhi shook her head: "It's nothing, it's nothing. Si Min, are you alright?"

Li Simin smiled and said, "I'm not that fragile. There are still two people left, so I sent them back first. Don't be so reckless in the future. What if something unexpected happens?"

Jiang Zhizhi hummed in agreement and nodded, promising, "It definitely won't happen again next time."

The sound was a bit loud; I wanted Zhou Xiye to hear it too.

There weren't enough seats in the two cars, so one of the police officers told Zhou Xiye and his group to drive one of the cars back first, and then send someone to pick them up.

Zhou Xiye drove Jiang Zhizhi and the others to the Public Security Bureau first, while Song Dong was still waiting.

Seeing Jiang Zhizhi, Li Yuanchao, and Li Simin, he was quite surprised: "What's going on with you three? You made such a commotion. Why didn't you call the police first?"

Li Yuanchao was also afraid of this older brother who was much older than him: "We thought we had no evidence, so we'll find some."

Song Dong was both amused and exasperated: "Do you have any evidence now? You guys are lucky to be alive. You even dared to mess with Lai Laosi?"

Li Yuanchao muttered under his breath, "He's so bad, he's done so many bad things, and you guys don't arrest him."

Song Dongchao and Zhou Xiye laughed: "That's right, they're all a bunch of passionate young people. But this Lai Laosi is quite capable. He leads people to rebel and ransack homes every day. Your sister-in-law's teacher's home was ransacked by him."

He went too far, but no one dared to say anything.

Zhou Xiye told the three of them to wait outside while he and Song Dong went to his office to talk.

Jiang Zhizhi was filled with anxiety, and Zhou Xiye didn't say a word the whole way.

She had just chatted with Song Dong, exchanging only a few simple words, and when he told them to wait outside, he didn't even glance at her.

The more I think about it, the more panicked I become.

Li Yuanchao had completely calmed down by now. He nudged Jiang Zhizhi and asked softly, "What's wrong? You look like you're about to cry."

Li Simin had already sensed it: "Are you worried that Brother Zhou will be angry?"

Jiang Zhizhi said with a mournful face, "He didn't talk to me the whole way."

Li Simin smiled: "You were really wrong this time. Go back and apologize to Brother Zhou properly. He's worried about your safety too."

Jiang Zhizhi sighed inwardly, knowing she could only go back and coax him gently and patiently.

He wrote a stack of guarantees.

In the office, Zhou Xiye briefly explained the situation to Song Dong.

Song Dong frowned upon hearing this: "Bian Xiaoxiao is too arrogant. She's doing whatever she wants because of the Bian family. She's probably going to suffer this time. What do you want?"

Zhou Xiye paused for a moment: "Make sure these two never leave prison."
