Chapter 21 She was both charming and alluring
Without thinking twice, Zhou Xiye rushed over and jumped down as well.
Judging from the figure, it was a woman, who was probably being abused at home and couldn't bear it anymore, so she threw herself into the river to commit suicide.
They scooped a person up from the rushing river, grabbed them around the waist with one hand, and swam them to shore.
As Jiang Zhizhi soaked in the icy water, she was just starting to feel a little better and her consciousness was returning when someone suddenly pulled her close. Subconsciously, she still had to protect her injured arm, while her left hand instinctively reached out to push against the person holding her waist.
She knew the other person might be trying to save someone, but she didn't need anyone to save her right now; saving her would be the real danger.
Zhou Xiye did not expect that the woman, who looked very thin, had great strength in her struggles. The two of them sank to the bottom of the water several times, only to be swept downstream by the swift current.
This was dangerous, so Zhou Xiye had no choice but to use his other hand to press down on Jiang Zhizhi's arm to stop her from moving. However, he touched the plaster cast on her hand and was very surprised to find that it was Jiang Zhizhi!
Without thinking twice, he turned the person around, held them tightly in his arms, and swam towards the shore. When the water became shallow, he stood up and picked the person up in his arms.
Her clothes were soaked through, and the cool night breeze made Jiang Zhizhi shiver. However, she couldn't resist the heat in her body, and her mind became increasingly confused.
At that moment, she felt a hot body pressed against her, and her left hand instinctively reached out and wrapped around Zhou Xiye's neck.
Before Zhou Xiye could react, Jiang Zhizhi, who was in his arms, straightened up and pressed herself tightly against him, hooking her arms around his neck and using the force to lift her head and kiss his face.
Zhou Xiye paused in his wading through the water and called out softly, "Comrade Xiao Jiang?"
Jiang Zhizhi seemed like a thirsty person who had found a spring of clear water. When she kissed Zhou Xiye again, she kissed him precisely on the lips and bit him twice without any technique. Still not satisfied, she whimpered like a kitten and stuck out her tongue for more.
Zhou Xiye had never been so close to a woman before; his muscles tensed and his expression stiffened.
It's not that I feel nothing when I have a soft, delicate person in my arms; it's just that reason prevails.
The delicate skin pressed against his face was now frighteningly hot.
The person in his arms kept struggling, their shirt rolled up, revealing a large expanse of their fair and slender waist. His large hand was pressed against it, and he could clearly feel the delicate smoothness and the undeniable heat.
Zhou Xiye swallowed hard, turned his head away from Jiang Zhizhi's kiss, and strode towards the shore.
The distance of just a few steps felt incredibly long to him.
Jiang Zhizhi's savage kisses against her soft breasts.
She was incredibly strong with one hand. When he turned his head, she whimpered and forced his face to turn back, determined to kiss his lips.
Zhou Xiye pursed his lips tightly to prevent Jiang Zhizhi's tongue from succeeding, quickly walked to the shore, found a quiet and dry place, and put Jiang Zhizhi down.
Jiang Zhizhi, however, was unwilling and struggled to hug Zhou Xiye, her mind completely blank.
Zhou Xiye reached out and grabbed Jiang Zhizhi's thin shoulder: "Comrade Jiang, calm down, what happened to you?"
Judging from Jiang Zhizhi's appearance, the dosage was quite strong, but she was staying at the village secretary's house, so who would have drugged her?
Jiang Zhizhi twisted her body, refusing to answer.
Zhou Xiye looked around, unbuckled his belt, and tied Jiang Zhizhi around the waist to a small tree nearby. This way, he could stay away from Jiang Zhizhi and she wouldn't be able to pounce on him.
Jiang Zhizhi, who was tied to the tree, struggled a few times but could not find a spring to quench her thirst. The cold air seemed to suppress the heat in her body and she gradually calmed down, but she could not help but shiver from the cold.
Under the moonlight, Jiang Zhizhi, tied to the tree, was unbelievably beautiful. Her hair was wet and scattered at her sides, her small, delicate face was fair and pink, her eyes were watery, and her eyelashes were wet. She looked pitiful as she trembled.
Helpless, Zhou Xiye reached out and touched Jiang Zhizhi's head as if to comfort her: "Don't do anything you'll regret. I'll take you to the clinic. Just bear with it a little longer, okay?"
The last sentence was almost a doting murmur, the voice low and gentle.
Jiang Zhizhi actually fell silent, trembling, her eyes unfocused as she stared at Zhou Xiye.
...
When Jiang Zhizhi woke up again, she was once again in a simple hospital room, which made her feel a little disoriented, as if she had returned to the time when she had just transmigrated.
"You're awake?"
Yang Fengmei's voice came, and she arrived at the bedside, looking at Jiang Zhizhi with concern.
Jiang Zhizhi rolled her eyes, recalling the process of taking Chinese medicine last night. She was later pulled out of the river, but she couldn't remember anything after that.
The splashing water was too loud, and she couldn't open her eyes, so she couldn't even see what the person who rescued her looked like.
Yang Fengmei tucked the blanket around Jiang Zhizhi: "Are you still cold? You had a high fever all night and it didn't break until dawn."
Jiang Zhizhi shook her head: "How did I get here?"
His voice was hoarse when he spoke, and his throat was so dry and uncomfortable, it felt like it was on fire.
Yang Fengmei looked worried: "How did you fall into the river in the middle of the night? Widow Ma from the village went to the river to wash clothes in the middle of the night and saw you fall in. She pulled you out. Luckily, she's tall, strong and powerful. She knew you and knew you lived at my house, so she quickly called us. Dazhuang and I quickly drove the tractor to take you to the county hospital."
This is what Zhou Xiye instructed her to say, and he also made it clear to Widow Ma, otherwise it would ruin Jiang Zhizhi's reputation if it got out.
Jiang Zhizhi raised her injured arm; the cast was still wet, indicating it had been re-fixed. She didn't feel a thing: "Auntie, thank you."
Yang Fengmei quickly waved her hand: "Don't mention it. I changed your clothes and washed your dirty ones. Just focus on getting better. Dazhuang will come to pick us up this afternoon."
Jiang Zhizhi looked at Yang Fengmei, who seemed completely unaware that the medicine in the thermos hadn't been put there by her.
It couldn't have been Liang Dazhuang and Old Man Liang who put it there. If they wanted to drug me, they would have had plenty of opportunities; they wouldn't need to leave a thermos.
If it were Old Man Liang and Liang Dazhuang who drank the water from the thermos, the consequences would likely be the same; under the influence of traditional Chinese medicine, they might both try to bully her.
Therefore, the person who drugged her intended to ruin her at the hands of Old Man Liang and Liang Dazhuang.
Who could it be?
Seeing that Jiang Zhizhi didn't speak, Yang Fengmei reached out and touched her forehead: "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Jiang Zhizhi shook her head: "Auntie, did you boil the water in the thermos next to the stove yesterday afternoon?"
Yang Fengmei nodded: "Yes, what's wrong?"
She was completely bewildered and had no idea what had happened.
Jiang Zhizhi frowned: "I drank the water from that thermos last night, and for some reason, I felt really unwell. I uncontrollably ran to the river and jumped in."
Yang Fengmei exclaimed, "Drugged by a cursed drug? That shouldn't be the case. Last night when I went to bed, I took the thermos into my room, and you didn't come in to get it."
