Chapter 188 The Feeling of Trust
Jiang Zhizhi frowned, somewhat hesitant: "His family? I've heard of them. The family I was talking about this morning. The wife who died after the divorce is your sister?"
Ge Qinghua nodded with red eyes: "This is my younger sister, Ge Xiumei. My father, Old Ge, works in the boiler room. When I was little, my family was too poor to raise too many children, so my father gave me to an uncle far away."
"However, the two families still kept in touch. Later, when things got a little better, my dad would come to visit me and secretly give me some of the food coupons he had saved. I know that giving me away was also to help me survive, so I don't blame him."
"Moreover, my sister is a very nice person. She is introverted and doesn't like to talk. I don't know how she met Bian Yucheng. The two got married less than a month after they met."
“My dad didn’t agree to the marriage at the time. What kind of family was the Bian family? What about our family? We felt that we were not a good match.”
"I don't know how my dad agreed to it later, but on the night before my sister's wedding, he walked more than ten miles to find me and said that if anything happened to him and my sister, it would definitely be because someone killed them."
“My sister got married without a wedding ceremony; the groom carried her home on his bicycle. The day after my sister’s wedding, my father died in an accident. Everyone said that my father was so happy that he drank too much and fell into the boiler and burned to death. I didn’t believe it, but I was working in the countryside for those two years, and I didn’t find out until a month later.”
As she spoke, she wiped away her tears: "I went to find my sister to ask what happened, but I couldn't find her. Later I heard that they got divorced, and not long after the divorce, my sister drank pesticide and died in my dad's house."
Jiang Zhizhi frowned: "Didn't he die from an illness?"
Ge Qinghua shook her head: "The Bian family, in order to save face, said to the outside world that he died of illness. If word got out that he died from taking medicine, wouldn't that mean they drove him to his death?"
Jiang Zhizhi gently patted Ge Qinghua's back, comforting her: "You must grieve in moderation. They definitely want you to live a good life."
There was indeed something hidden behind this, but Ge Qinghua's sudden willingness to tell her so much made her more cautious.
Ge Qinghua took out a handkerchief and wiped away her tears: "I always felt that my father and sister's deaths were not accidents, but I had no evidence. They died so unjustly, especially my sister, who was a very sensible girl."
Jiang Zhizhi gently patted her back: "That's right, even if you have doubts, you need to have evidence. If you go out and talk nonsense without evidence, it may cause you trouble."
Ge Qinghua quickly shook her head: "I haven't told anyone else. I just feel that you are a warm-hearted and kind girl, so I couldn't help but tell you. It's been too hard for me to keep these things to myself. You just said that if I have evidence, I can sue them. Is that true?"
Jiang Zhizhi nodded: "If there is enough evidence, you can sue, but be careful."
Then, looking at Ge Qinghua, he asked, "Do you have any evidence?"
Ge Qinghua quickly shook her head: "No, no, I was just saying it casually."
She did have evidence, and she originally wanted Jiang Zhizhi to come forward and hand it over.
But when she got close enough, she hesitated. Her father said that if this evidence were discovered, it could lead to her death.
For the past few years, she had been timid and hesitant. For a fleeting moment, she thought of taking advantage of Jiang Zhizhi's kindness and enthusiasm to get her to help her file a lawsuit.
But when she got close, she still couldn't bear it. What if this thing got out of Jiang Zhizhi's hands and ended up harming Jiang Zhizhi?
Jiang Zhizhi noticed her hesitation and patted her shoulder: "Sister, if you have any trouble, just come to me. My husband and my mother-in-law are very nice people and can definitely help you."
Ge Qinghua nodded: "It's okay. Maybe I'm overthinking it. After all, losing two relatives in less than two years is something I can't accept."
Jiang Zhizhi sat quietly with Ge Qinghua for a while before going to class.
During class, Jiang Zhizhi clearly noticed that Ge Qinghua was distracted.
The teacher seemed particularly enthusiastic today. Even when it was time to leave school, he was reluctant to put down his textbook. He didn't leave until it was dark outside.
Even so, many students were still unwilling to leave, and gathered around the teacher's desk with their textbooks to ask the teacher questions.
Jiang Zhizhi originally wanted to leave, but seeing the atmosphere, she was afraid of missing some important information, so she quickly grabbed her textbook and went over to listen to what everyone was asking.
The students who asked the questions all had a solid foundation in basic medical knowledge.
Jiang Zhizhi listened to the questions for a while, holding her textbook, and found that they were like gibberish to her; she really didn't understand them at all.
Quickly grab a pen and write it down next to you, then go back and study it slowly. If you don't understand something, ask someone later.
Because of this delay, it was almost eight o'clock when we came out, and it was already completely dark.
There were no streetlights on the way back, so Ge Qinghua suggested, "Zhizhi, I'll walk with you. We can just use one flashlight."
Jiang Zhizhi had no objection: "Sure, but can you manage the rest of the way by yourself? Or do you want to stay at my place for the night?"
Ge Qinghua shook her head: "It's alright. I've walked the darkest and most latest roads before. Let's go."
The two pushed the bike out of the school gate.
Ge Qinghua first saw Zhou Xiye standing under the street lamp. He stood tall and straight like a poplar tree under the street lamp, looking serious, but his military uniform gave people a sense of security and trust.
Jiang Zhizhi lowered her head to tuck her gloves in, then looked up and saw Zhou Xiye. She exclaimed and said to Ge Qinghua, "Sister, my husband has come to pick me up."
As she spoke, she pushed the cart and jogged toward Zhou Xiye.
When they got closer, they realized Zhou Xiye wasn't wearing a coat: "Where's your jacket? Aren't you cold?"
Zhou Xiye reached out and straightened Jiang Zhizhi's loosely wrapped scarf: "It's at the venue, it's fine, it's not very cold."
While he was adjusting his scarf, Jiang Zhizhi leaned closer and rubbed her cheek against his cold fingers: "It's so cold, you'll freeze if you don't wear a coat. Be careful you don't get frozen shoulder when you get old."
He used a completely lecturing tone with her, and Zhou Xiye was a little helpless. He casually pinched her cheek and said, "You're really naughty."
After greeting Zhou Xiye affectionately, Jiang Zhizhi quickly introduced Ge Qinghua, who was still at the school gate, to him: "That's Sister Qinghua. She takes good care of me. I didn't come yesterday, and she copied my notes for me."
Ge Qinghua originally wanted to wait until she could say goodbye to Jiang Zhizhi before leaving.
Seeing that Jiang Zhizhi introduced her to Zhou Xiye, she had no choice but to push the cart over and greet Zhou Xiye with a smile.
Zhou Xiye nodded politely: "Thank you for your help to my wife these past two days."
Ge Qinghua shook her head: "It's nothing, it's just a small favor."
Jiang Zhizhi looked at Ge Hua, and after everyone had left, she said to Zhou Xiye, "Her sister was Bian Yucheng's ex-wife, and she sadly passed away..."
