Thinking of Chou Chou, Song Yunjiang's memories resurfaced, and she slowly nodded.
"They do look a bit alike. It's quite a coincidence, actually. Your brother-in-law was named Zhou Chou, and he died when he was ten. Chou Chou wasn't fully grown up until he was six..."
She suddenly slapped her thigh. "I remember now. My eldest grandson doesn't look like a member of the Zhou family. He looks more like my older brother when he was young. He was like a little adult when he was a child, and I used to tease him about it."
“At that time, none of the Zhou family members had ever seen my eldest brother. I said that no one could compare to him, and gradually, as time went by, they forgot about him.”
"Xiao Xie, have you met your great-uncle? Doesn't Chou Chou look like your great-uncle?"
Song Yunjiang was excited.
My elder brother's wife and children died at that time. If Chou Chou is really a descendant of the Song family, then it is truly a blessing from our ancestors.
"Grandma, I've never seen my great-uncle when he was young, and now, he doesn't look much like him," Xie Lin said after thinking for a moment.
One is old, and the other is still so young; they don't look exactly alike, so it's hard to tell them apart.
Song Yunjiang wanted to say it didn't matter, and that it wouldn't be too late to compare them when her older brother and Chou Chou stood together, but Xie Lin's next words made her completely excited.
"Grandma, I saw two boys in a farmhouse near the foot of the mountain who look a bit like Chou Chou."
"What?" Song Yunjiang jumped up.
It's time for the token to make its appearance.
Xie Lin took out the small pendant. "I found this at the entrance of that courtyard. It looked familiar, so I ran back."
"Grandma, take a look and see if it's the same as your pendant?"
Seeing Zhui was like seeing her in person; Song Yunjiang's eyes immediately reddened, and her hands trembled slightly.
“It’s your maternal great-uncle’s pendant. It was made by your great-grandfather. My older brother and I each have one.”
The lettering, depicting a tide and a cloud, isn't particularly beautiful, but it carries the father's overflowing love.
"Xiao Xie, they must be your brother's descendants. Where are they? Take Grandma to see them quickly."
"It's over there on the other side of the mountain, quite far, Grandma. Don't worry, I'll go get the car keys from my tenth brother and take you there."
Brother Shi said that the villages on the outskirts of Haicheng are xenophobic, and he wondered if this village would also be xenophobic. He suggested that it would be better to send more people over to avoid any trouble.
Those two, father and son, didn't look like good people at all.
With nothing to do, Zhou Yan, Lu Fan, and Zhang Dong were playing chess in their room. But when they heard about this, they lost all interest in playing.
Grandma Xiao and the two elders of the Han family stayed behind to watch the house, while the five of them sped off towards the village.
A deep mountain that blocks out the sky.
Ugly and Corpse are really digging for wild vegetables; they've piled them up into a small mountain.
"Ugly, is this dish delicious?"
Shishi held the long, thin leaves of a wild vegetable, her little brows furrowed tightly.
It smells rotten and bitter; it doesn't taste good at all.
"I don't know either, I've never eaten it before, but it's edible. Take it back and let my brother cook it. Hurry up and dig, there's still a lot there. Eating it will help you poop."
"Okay." To make sure she could poop smoothly, the Queen was determined to do it.
Hiss, hiss. (Something ugly is coming.)
The eldest son ran back carrying a large bunch of wild sweet potato seedlings covered in mud.
The second oldest had its tail curled around a piece of rotten wood covered in beautiful fungi.
"What ugly thing?"
Corpse dug up the wild vegetables, roots and all, and Stinky Egg said that if we were to plant vegetables, we should plant these.
Hiss hiss hiss. (Look there.)
The eldest brother's tail was pointing in one direction.
Ugly and Corpse looked at the same time.
Ugly didn't see it, but Corpse did, and its eyes lit up.
"Hehe, it's a herd of wild boars. It's Ninth Brother's wedding. There'll be meat."
She stretched out both hands and counted, finding that she had just enough fingers.
"Ugly, there are 6. Let Stinky Egg raise two, use two to make braised pork and sweet and sour spare ribs, and also stir-fry pork cracklings. Give one to Ninth Brother, how about that?"
Ugly nodded. "What about the other one?"
"We're making jerky, and we're taking half of it to Beijing to exchange for sweet water with Egg... Grandpa. Last time we went to Beijing, neither Grandpa nor Dad gave us any sweet water, so we're bringing half of it home for Mom and Dad to eat."
Ugly Ugly died, why are you still thinking about him?
My brother said he couldn't tell her it was another world, afraid she might accidentally tell someone else, so he told her to just think of it as Beijing.
Even when there's food, you still think of Uncle Xiao and Aunt Xiao; they didn't spoil you for nothing.
"Okay, you make the arrangements. Let's hunt wild boar first. Boss, you two stay here and watch our food... Ah, second brother, we can't take this one."
Ugly was startled by the brightly colored wild mushrooms.
That damn snake.
"Second brother, have you eaten this?"
The second child, bewildered, hissed. (No, we'll eat together.)
It is a docile snake and does not eat alone.
Ugly wiped away a bead of sweat, thankfully she hadn't eaten.
"You can't eat this. If you do, you'll die, understand?"
The two snakes nodded vigorously.
Hiss. (I won't eat.)
The second brother flung the rotten wood far away with a whoosh.
Want its snake life? No way.
It hasn't had enough fun yet.
The corpse was curious.
"Ugly, that's much prettier than wild vegetables, why doesn't it taste good?"
She has no resistance to anything beautiful.
"It's not that it doesn't taste good, it's that you can't eat it. It's highly poisonous. If you eat it, your stomach will hurt terribly. You won't be able to eat anything from now on. Forget about it. Let's go hunt wild boar. The meat tastes better than vegetables."
"Oh, don't have a stomachache, I want to eat meat."

"Brother, how are you? Can you walk? Or should I carry you to the clinic?"
Hu Kong accidentally stepped on a sharp stone on the ridge of the field down the mountain and got scratched, bleeding quite a bit.
“Little brother, you work here, I’ll go back by myself. I don’t need to go to the clinic, just sprinkle some wood ash.”
"Captain, can I ask for half a day off this afternoon and make up for the work tomorrow?"
