The tall woman was Wang Fengjiao, the owner of apartment 401 in building 2. She was physically robust, and her name did not match her physique at all.
However, if you only look at her delicate and tender face, the name is quite fitting.
Wang Fengjiao smiled without showing her teeth, her gaze gentle. "Comrade Zhou Shi, my grandparents and parents are all very tall. I look like them."
It's genetic, and she can't change it.
"Oh, I see. Do you have children?"
Shishi was very curious whether her child was also this tall.
The light in Wang Fengying's eyes dimmed considerably. "Not yet. We've been married for two years, and I'm still not pregnant."
Shishi scratched her head. "Then I wish you a speedy pregnancy."
After hearing all the gossip in the compound, she learned a great lesson: a sister-in-law who doesn't have children after marriage will be laughed at.
This sister-in-law seems like a nice person; I hope she has a baby soon.
The clever poet changed the subject, asking, "Are you carrying that basket on your back heading to town?"
"No, it's going up the mountain. I've learned hunting, so I set a trap on the mountain to see if I could catch a wild rabbit to give my husband some nourishment."
She openly stated her purpose.
She was going to say "wild chicken," but when she saw that the other person had three "wild chicken" friends, she quickly changed her mind.
When talking about her husband, Wang Fengying's eyes shone brightly, showing that the couple had a very good relationship.
"Bunny!" Nannan called out with a grin. Wang Fengjiao thought it was a wish that she would catch a rabbit, and happily patted her little head.
"Yes, let's go catch rabbits."
I was so envious of her rosy little face. I wish I could have such a cute child.
As they were talking, they unknowingly crossed the bridge.
"Goodbye, sister-in-law, hurry up and catch some wild rabbits."
"goodbye."
After parting ways, Shishi's gaze remained fixed on Wang Fengjiao.
Because she noticed that when Wang Fengjiao mentioned the pregnancy, the tall, dark-skinned woman behind her had an abnormal smile, and the light in her eyes was not pure; she didn't look like a good person.
She turned into a side path and quietly followed them up the mountain.
Li Zixing didn't understand, "Your Majesty, what are we going up the mountain for?"
"Bunny." Nannan spit out bubbles of saliva, waving her chubby paws. She couldn't quite make a difference in the number two; to others, she just looked like she was holding up a number five.
With the excuse readily available, Shishi twisted Nannan's meaning, saying, "Nannan wants to catch a rabbit."
Li Zixing simply said "oh" and didn't say anything more. Having witnessed her skill in catching chickens and rabbits, which was very fast, he wasn't worried about her being late for school.
Chen Xiao silently followed.
The school bell rang three times, and Han Shuyun looked at the still empty classroom, feeling anxious.
If it were three children, she wouldn't be worried, but now that all seven children are late, there's a problem.
Li Zixing, Da Ya, and the Shen brothers were never late.
"Classmates, has anyone seen Li Zixing and the others?"
The children in the compound shook their heads. A little girl who lived at the edge of the village raised her hand and said, "Teacher, I saw it. Nine of them came up the mountain from behind my house."
Go up the mountain?
Nine people?
She never expected that Nannan was in the group. She thought that besides Chen Xiao, the other person was Xie Lin. With two adults with them, she felt relieved.
On the mountain, several radish heads were hanging on a big tree.
Not far from the tree, Wang Fengjiao parted the thin layer of withered leaves and bent over to look down.
In addition to setting a snare, she also set a large trap with several sharp branches standing at the bottom.
The dry branches and leaves on top have been damaged, and wild animals may have fallen down.
"Xiao Ying, there's a rabbit! There really is a rabbit! I didn't expect the snare to miss the rabbit; it fell into the trap by itself."
Overjoyed, she didn't see the sinister hand reaching out from behind her. Just as she was about to crouch down to catch the rabbit, she stumbled and fell straight into the trap.
With her head down and body tilted, she had no time to grab onto anything for support to save herself.
Seeing that her body was about to be stabbed until her head bled, she felt utterly hopeless.
There were only her and her sister on the mountain, so it goes without saying who pushed her.
She felt sorry for her younger sister Wang Fengying, who had been abandoned by her husband, and took her over to cheer her up. She never expected that her sister would be so ruthless as to harm her.
We were such good friends when we were little, and she loved to stick to me the most. Why did things turn out like this?
There was no point in thinking about it now; she just hoped she wouldn't lose her life, otherwise what would become of her husband?
His feet were tightly hooked onto the edge of the trap, and his hands reached forward, trying to grab the sharp branches to free himself.
It's better to lose your hand than to lose your life.
Just as they grabbed the thorns, they found that their bodies were being supported by the suddenly appearing round vines, preventing them from falling any further.
Overjoyed, he was about to use the momentum to move to the edge when a vicious curse rang out from above.
"Wang Fengjiao, just die already, don't block my way."
"We're twin sisters, so why is it that you're as beautiful as a flower, while I'm called a black bear?"
"Why is it that you are cherished by your husband, while I am despised and abandoned by him, and my children don't want me as their mother?"
"Wang Fengjiao, don't worry, I will take good care of your brother-in-law from now on. You can't have children, but I can. I will give him ten or eight sons."
Wang Fengjiao's body trembled uncontrollably with anger.
She looks like her mother, and her younger sister looks like her father. Not only are their appearances different, but their skin is also completely different. She gets whiter the more she's in the sun, while her younger sister gets darker as soon as she's exposed to sunlight.
But is it her fault?
Is Wang Fengying heartless to take her anger out on someone for such a reason?
Before they got married, everyone said that the sisters had a very good relationship, which was the envy of others.
What exactly caused her red heart to turn black?
Without moving, Wang Fengjiao rested her head on the vines, lying there listening to her dearest sister's bold words.
When Wang Fengying saw her tremble, she assumed she wasn't quite dead and was shaking from pain, so she laughed even harder.
