I received a good news phone call when I woke up this morning.
"Shishi, I'm a father now! Your master's wife gave birth to your little junior sister. When are you coming back to see her?"
The teacher's joyful voice almost pierced her eardrums; she knew without asking that the mother and daughter were safe.
"Not so fast. I'll give my junior sister a gift when I get back."
"Okay, okay, I'll be waiting for you. Remember to read the book I gave you and write a review for me when you get back."
"Don't let your studies fall behind either. Remember to remind your son and his little master to take time to study."
"Okay, okay," Shishi said guiltily; she hadn't even opened the book yet.
Sigh, why can't we just bang our heads against books to collect knowledge?
Why is it that the beautiful, ethereal women on TV are allowed to be like that?
Eyes are for seeing beautiful things, not for seeing dark, indistinct words.
As the seniority decreased, Da Liu pouted and asked, "Grandpa Qiu, could Mom's junior sister be my and Xiao Liu's sister?"
Aunt Duoduo is very young, a little kid so much younger than me, it feels a bit awkward to call her "Auntie".
"But according to seniority, she is your aunt. It's not appropriate for you to call me grandpa and her sister."
Xiao Liu came up with what he thought was a great idea: "Then let's call you Uncle."
The class advisor instantly looked twenty years younger.
The little brat's thought process was unusual, leaving the homeroom teacher both amused and exasperated, and deciding to leave it as it was.
"Sweethearts, your auntie is waiting for you to come home. Have fun, goodbye."
The homeroom teacher hung up the phone.
If the child calls him uncle, then wouldn't Shishi be his peer?
The age gap between the brother and sister, which is more than 20 years, is a bit scary.
Grandma Yao was in a good mood. Upon learning that her benefactor was going south, she used the only rice she had at home to ferment and make white cakes.
"Take this to feed your children on the way, but it's a pity Chunhua's hand is injured; her cooking skills are better than mine."
The old lady busied herself preparing a meal of Dongpo tofu pudding and steamed pork with rice flour, intending it as a parting treat, but...
"Would you like to move to Beijing as a family? My shop is short of skilled workers."
Local dishes, made by locals, taste even more authentic.
And so, two weeks after they left, the family of three boarded a train to Beijing.
Grandma Yao considered a few points.
After her daughter went missing for many years, she was reunited with her and wanted to spend more time with her child to make up for the years she had missed.
Even if the granddaughter is in the right, she will still be gossiped about in the village because she has suffered a great injustice.
It doesn't matter that she's old; the children have a long road ahead. Rather than gambling with people's hearts, it's better to stay away from the source of trouble.
The opportunity is right in front of us, and we should cherish it.
