Chapter 149 Revenge on Old Man Xia

Xia Wan thought angrily, "No wonder these two people provided such high scores. It turns out they've taken lives and done heinous things!"

Looking at the information I found, I immediately wanted to go out and beat up those two old bastards.

But reason told her she couldn't do that now; she should check other information while the search period was still open.

Now that the two old men have figured it out, it's time to see what the others are like!

Then she began investigating Xia Jianlin's affairs.

It turned out that Xia Jianlin's life was not going well after returning to Beijing; he had been abandoned by others.

Moreover, he has not obtained many high-quality resources over the years, and even part of his living expenses in the capital still need to be covered by the assistance of Old Man Xia and Old Woman Xia.

Thinking of this, Xia Wan couldn't help but sneer: "Ha, what a fitting end!"

Xia Jianlin went to the Xia family in Beijing. It was quite a coincidence that the family also had the surname Xia.

But don't underestimate the Xia family of the capital; they are no ordinary family.

The family members are either in the military or in politics; none of them are ordinary citizens.

After Xia Jianlin arrived at the Xia family, he was treated like an insignificant ant. Moreover, he was particularly disliked, arrogant and haughty. Over the years, he had not even been able to get a decent job.

The Xia family had long seen through his true nature and had no intention of paying any more attention to him.

But out of a sense of guilt, I could only give him some pocket money occasionally and let him fend for himself.

Over the years, he has been using the excuse that the other party suspects him to constantly ask Old Man Xia and others for money.

Actually, he was tricked over there and lost a lot of money in order to get a job, but he didn't dare to tell the Xia family in Beijing, so he could only rely on his father!

Xia Wan felt that Xia Jianlin was having a really tough time over there, and she laughed at the sight of him.

Xia Wan finally breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the news.

It turns out these people aren't difficult to deal with; they just cause a few minor troubles.

She decided to go see Lao Xia tomorrow to discuss his plans and ideas.

However, whenever Xia Wan thinks about the abuse her father has suffered over the years, she can't let it go, as if there is an invisible obstacle in her heart.

She secretly wondered if she should take advantage of tonight to vent her frustrations.

This is a good opportunity to settle old scores, so let's do it tonight.

In the dead of night, Xia Wan cautiously entered the room of the elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Xia.

Without the slightest hesitation, she went straight forward, grabbed a thick quilt, and quickly covered the elderly couple's heads with it.

Without hesitation, she raised her foot and kicked them hard.

"Who...ah...wait..."

"ah……"

The muffled groans and painful moans coming from under the covers sounded exceptionally clear in the quiet night.

These sounds, however, gave Xia Wan a strange sense of pleasure, as if each sound was a comfort to her wounded heart.

Xia Wan didn't remove the blanket until she had knocked the two men unconscious.

"Tch, she passed out so quickly? I haven't had enough fun yet!"

Muttering to herself, Xia Wan picked up a chair from the ground and smashed it on Old Man Xia's leg. Then, she opened the window and rushed out as fast as she could!

"ah……"

"Old man...you...ouch...who the hell is this..."

Xia Wan jumped out of the window and heard a pig-like scream behind her.

A smile appeared on her lips; she felt much better now and went back to her room to sleep.

She wanted to sleep, but the rest of the Xia family couldn't sleep peacefully. Everyone was awakened by Old Man Xia's screams, and even the neighbor's dog started barking.

Xia Wan had just lain down when she heard a commotion outside.

"Dad? What are you doing in the middle of the night!" The first voice was from Xia Jianjun, who lived closest to Old Man Xia and the others.

"Ah... my leg is broken!" Old Man Xia cried out in response.

"What the hell?" Xia Jianjun asked in shock. "Dad, how did you do that?"

Old Xia was in so much pain that he couldn't speak, and his face was pale. He had no mind to answer his son!

Then came the panicked voice of Old Mrs. Xia, who cried out for her son at the top of her lungs: "Eldest son, eldest son! Come quick! Your father has been beaten badly..."

Upon hearing the noise, Xia Jianjun hurriedly put on his clothes and rushed to his father's room without even having time to put on his shoes.

When he saw his father's face contorted in pain, he froze on the spot.

Can anyone tell him what's going on? Why would someone come to my house and beat me up in the middle of the night? And why would they do it so violently?!

"This...this...Dad, should I go and call the village doctor for you?" Xia Jianjun asked, somewhat at a loss, looking at his father's injuries.

His father's kang (heated brick bed) was covered in broken wood, and even the stool was smashed. What kind of hatred must have driven him to do such a brutal thing? It was like he was trying to kill him!

"Go...go quickly..." Old Man Xia was in so much pain that he almost fainted. He managed to squeeze out a few words through his teeth, urging his son to hurry up and fetch a doctor.

In the few minutes they were talking, the other family members also got up from the kang (a heated brick bed).

The men rushed to Old Man Xia's house, while the women waited anxiously in the courtyard.

A tense atmosphere permeated the entire house.

It wasn't until Xia Jianjun went out to fetch a doctor that the people waiting outside realized the seriousness of the situation.

Upon hearing the commotion outside, Xia Wan immediately got up, quickly tidied her clothes, opened the door, pretended to have just woken up, and slowly walked out.

She pretended to be unaware of the situation and even wore thick clothes to keep warm.

After all, even if it's just for show, you can't let yourself get cold.

As she walked, she muttered to herself, "What are you doing in the middle of the night? What's wrong? Is my grandpa dying and my grandma is mourning him?"

Xia Wan was secretly delighted, but she showed no mercy on her words.

However, no one dared to provoke her at this moment, because everyone was filled with doubts: who would dare to break into someone's home in the middle of the night and commit violence?

When Xia Jianjun brought the village doctor, the old man had already fainted from the pain.

The village doctor glanced at the bloody, mangled leg and shook his head helplessly, saying regretfully, "You'd better get him to the hospital quickly; it's probably broken a bone. Even if you get him to the county hospital, they might not be able to cure him."

The village doctor immediately noticed that Old Man Xia's leg was severely deformed, indicating that his injury was very serious.

He was powerless to help with such a serious injury and could only suggest that the patient be sent to a larger hospital for treatment.
