Chapter 362 Search Warrant

On Xia Wan's pretty face, a pair of big eyes seemed to speak volumes, blinking mischievously. The lively light in her eyes was like stars in the dark night, twinkling with a unique and charming brilliance in the dim light.

She parted her lips slightly, uttering a clear and melodious voice like a nightingale singing: "Hmm, actually, it's only been a few days, probably before you, Grandpa, have even had time to find a suitable hospital!"

Although her voice was incredibly soft, it sounded exceptionally clear and loud in the room, where the air was so quiet it was almost stagnant. It was like a heavy hammer striking Xia Xiong's heartstrings, causing him to tremble.

Upon hearing this, Xia Xiong's forehead, already etched with countless deep and shallow wrinkles by time, instantly creased together, forming a striking "川" (river) shape.

Those eyes, which were already somewhat cloudy, suddenly widened, and a hint of undisguised astonishment flashed across them.

"Wh...what? How...how did you do that? Tell me, what exactly did you add?"

His voice rose suddenly and uncontrollably, filled with urgency and tension. His whole body leaned forward unconsciously, as if trying to discern the hidden truth behind the matter through the subtle changes in Xia Wan's facial expressions.

Faced with Xia Xiong's urgent questioning, Xia Wan simply smiled slightly, the corners of her mouth curving upwards in a mysterious and unpredictable arc.

However, that smile only lingered on the corner of her lips, without reaching the depths of her eyes.

On the contrary, this smile made her already deep gaze even more profound and distant, like a sharp blade gleaming with a chilling light in the cold winter night.

“Some things that could send Guo Guanghua to hell. I’ve never liked to place my hopes on others.” Her words carried an undeniable determination and resolve. Even though she already knew about her father’s background, she had never had the slightest thought of relying on the Xia family.

Xia Xiong's eyes widened, his mouth slightly agape, and after taking a deep breath, a low gurgling sound came from his throat. He stared incredulously at his granddaughter, his heart churning with emotions that remained unsettled for a long time.

In his memory, this granddaughter had always been gentle, graceful, and delicate, speaking softly and behaving elegantly. Yet, the courage and boldness she displayed at this moment seemed to transform her completely, leaving Xia Xiong utterly astonished.

He stared intently at his audacious granddaughter, his eyes filled with a complex mix of shock and fear. His lips trembled slightly, and it took him a long time to squeeze out a sentence through gritted teeth: "You little brat, you're incredibly bold! Do you know that if this gets out, if that ruthless Guo Guanghua finds out, he will absolutely not let you off easily!"

Upon hearing the mention of Guo Guanghua, Xia Xiong's face instantly turned deathly pale, and a fine layer of sweat appeared on his forehead. He had long heard of Guo Guanghua. It was said that this man would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, and his ruthlessness and cruelty were beyond the imagination of ordinary people.

Thinking of this, Xia Xiong couldn't help but shiver, feeling a chill run down his spine. And what if Guo Guanghua found out that Xia Wan had meticulously planned all of this? What would the consequences be? Not only would Xia Wan herself be in danger, but her entire family could be implicated and suffer annihilation. Just thinking about it made Xia Xiong's back soaked with cold sweat, his clothes clinging tightly to his body.

But Xia Wan, facing her grandfather's worry and warnings, remained completely unconcerned. She simply shrugged lightly, a barely perceptible smile playing on her lips. Inwardly, she thought: "Hmph, who will ultimately let whom off the hook? Who knows!"

On the surface, however, she immediately put on a sweet smile and gently comforted him, "Grandpa, don't worry. I was very careful when I did it. The place where I hid the things was very well hidden. As long as Guo Guanghua used the study as usual, there was no way he would have found out."

As she spoke, she gently patted Xia Xiong's hand, her eyes radiating confidence. Her unwavering gaze was like a ray of warm sunshine, calming Xia Xiong's anxious heart a little.

Xia Xiong smiled helplessly. This granddaughter has always been decisive and opinionated since she was a child. She always does things in her own way, which makes it impossible for anyone not to feel at ease.

"Alright, Grandpa trusts you to handle things!" He sighed, his tone full of trust and doting affection for his granddaughter.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, the Revolutionary Committee's office was brightly lit, with incandescent lights illuminating the entire space as if it were daytime.

Following Xia Xiong's instructions, Chu Kuo skillfully navigated the office area and went straight to his cousin Yan Liang, who was busy at work.

"Liangzi, what have you been busy with these past few days?" Chu Kuo asked in a loud voice, pulling up a chair and sitting down next to Yan Liang with a seemingly friendly smile on his face.

His voice stood out in the slightly noisy office filled with the sounds of documents turning and hushed discussions, instantly drawing the attention of many people around him, who cast puzzled or curious glances.

Yan Liang looked up at the sound and saw it was his cousin. His face, already beaming with excitement over his small achievement at work, lit up with an even wider smile, his eyes narrowing into crescent moons.
