Chapter 387 Doubts

Xia Tao has a very easygoing personality and can quickly become familiar with anyone. It's as if he has a natural affinity that can dispel any sense of unfamiliarity between people.

This approachability is like the warm sunshine in spring, so comforting that it makes you want to get closer and absorb its warmth and comfort.

It was a power that could reach the heart directly. Whether the other person was a quiet and reserved person or an outgoing and lively one, they could naturally open up and talk in front of Xia Tao.

The moment he saw Li Chengjun, his eyes lit up instantly, like twinkling stars in the night sky, dazzling and radiant. His already vivid face shone even brighter, and his whole being radiated a unique glow.

The excitement in his heart was like a firework that had been lit, eager to burst into bloom. He strode forward, his steps firm and powerful, each step feeling like he was stepping on solid ground, stirring up a small breeze as if announcing his overflowing joy.

He put his arm around Li Chengjun's shoulder, the gesture as familiar as that of an old friend reuniting, and greeted him warmly: "Chengjun, it's great to see you! Time really flies, it feels like it wasn't long ago when we last met!"

The hearty laughter, as loud as a bell, carried far through the noisy train station, attracting the attention of many people around. Everyone cast curious glances, wanting to see what kind of reunion could produce such joyful laughter.

Some people stopped their hurried steps, paused briefly to watch, a hint of envy on their faces; others couldn't help but smile, infected by the joyful atmosphere, as if they too were in this long-awaited reunion.

Li Chengjun responded to Xia Tao's enthusiasm with a smile, his lips curving upwards to reveal a set of white teeth. His smile was as radiant as a flower blooming in spring, its petals unfurling, brimming with vitality and energy, his eyes full of sincerity.

He knew Xia Tao's hospitality well and was happy to immerse himself in this unreserved friendship.

The three stood at the exit, surrounded by a bustling crowd. The sounds of rolling suitcases, conversations, and distant car horns mingled together, creating a cacophony of noise.

The sound waves came one after another, seemingly threatening to engulf the entire world.

But they seemed to be in their own little world, and the noise from the outside world could not disturb them at all.

In this small world, time seemed to slow down, flowing only with the affection between them.

Xia Wan stood quietly to the side, her soft hair swaying gently in the breeze, like willow branches swaying in the wind, gentle and beautiful.

As she watched this scene unfold, a warm feeling welled up inside her.

She listened to their conversation, occasionally interjecting with a few words, her voice soft and gentle, like a babbling brook in the mountains, full of liveliness and clarity.

During their conversation, Xia Wan learned that Li Chengjun had indeed come here for work-related matters. She had no idea that he had been hoping to meet her all along. This hidden expectation, like a deeply buried seed, had taken root and sprouted in Li Chengjun's heart, growing stronger with the passage of time.

During each day of waiting, the seed quietly absorbs nutrients, dreaming of the moment it breaks through the soil and embraces the sunlight.

Li Chengjun repeatedly pictured his encounter with Xia Wan in his mind, imagining her every smile and gesture. Those images sustained him through the long periods of waiting.

After chatting for a while, Li Chengjun offered to take Xia Wan and Xia Tao home. He reached out and took their luggage, one in each hand, carrying it easily as if the heavy suitcases were weightless.

His arm muscles bulged slightly, showing his strength; they were the marks left by long-term labor and exercise, and each muscle seemed to tell the story of his life.

He worked hard in the factory every day, which gave him this strong physique, and now he could help Xia Wan and Xia Tao. "Let's go, I'll see you off."

He smiled and said, his eyes revealing an unwavering determination that could not be refused. His gaze was like the brightest star in the night sky, giving people a sense of security, as if as long as he was there, there was nothing to worry about.

The three walked out of the train station side by side. The summer sun shone down on them without reservation, gilding their features and making them look like they had stepped out of a painting, creating a warm and cozy scene.

A gentle breeze swept by, carrying the fresh scent of trees along the street—a mix of leaves and earth, bringing a touch of coolness, dispelling some of the summer heat, and blowing away the weariness in Xia Wan's heart.

The gentle breeze, like a pair of tender hands, soothed away the fatigue of her journey, making her feel relaxed and happy. Xia Wan took a deep breath, savoring this comfort, and her gratitude towards Li Chengjun deepened.

Along the way, Xia Tao and Li Chengjun chatted happily, addressing each other as brothers, as if they had endless topics to discuss.

Xia Tao vividly described the exciting plot of a recent popular movie, gesturing wildly as if he were the protagonist. He imitated the hero's heroic actions and the villain's cunning expressions, speaking with great enthusiasm.

When talking about interesting things at work, Li Chengjun shared the sense of accomplishment he felt when solving problems in the factory. His eyes shone with pride and satisfaction. He described in detail the process of overcoming the problem, not missing a single detail. From having no clue at first, to gradually finding a solution, and finally solving it successfully, Xia Tao and Xia Wan couldn't help but applaud him.

Then they recounted their childhood mischief, the times they stole fruit from the neighbors' yards and fished in the river, which made them laugh heartily. Xia Tao would crack jokes from time to time, vividly recounting those hilarious stories. His expressions were rich; he would imitate this one, then that one, sometimes widening his eyes in surprise, sometimes frowning in distress, making everyone burst into laughter.
