Chapter 49 is not Old Xia?

"Jianguo, you're awake!"

"Uncle Jianguo, are you hungry?"

"dad……"

All three people turned their gazes to the person on the hospital bed, but Xia Jianguo seemed not to hear them, just staring blankly ahead.

His eyes were fixed on Xia Wan, his face full of disbelief, his eyes reddening, and a complex mix of emotions swirling within them.

"This...is me..." His voice was so hoarse that he could barely utter a few words, and he tried to sit up by supporting himself on the bed with his hands.

His eyes never left Xia Wan's face, as if he were afraid she would suddenly disappear.

Perhaps because he was too excited, or perhaps because he hadn't drunk water for a long time, his throat became increasingly hoarse and dry, his voice grew softer and softer, and eventually he couldn't make a sound at all.

"Hey, hey, hey... It's your daughter, it's your daughter Xia Wan, Jianguo, slow down, slow down, let me help you up!" Seeing that he was emotional, Wu Guohua quickly reached out and pressed his shoulder, afraid that he might accidentally pull on the wound on his head.

"Uncle, don't move, I'll go get the doctor!" Wu Dazhuang hurriedly turned around and ran out the door.

"Dad... Dad, have some water!" Xia Wan quickly picked up the water glass that was placed to the side, the water of which she had already cooled down.

She carefully held the water to Xia Jianguo's lips, letting him drink some water to moisten his throat!

After drinking a small glass of water, Xia Jianguo felt much better, and his originally pale face gradually regained some color.

A slight smile appeared on his lips, his eyes filled with concern and love for his daughter: "Call me Dad... call me Dad!"

His daughter grew up in the city and is used to calling him "Dad". Now, asking her to call him "Father" will probably take her a while to adjust.

Anyway, it all means the same thing, so just call your daughter whatever makes her happy!

Xia Wan's tears flowed uncontrollably, like a burst dam.

He really is her biological father. No matter what, he always sees things from her perspective and puts her interests and feelings first!

Seeing his daughter cry, Xia Jianguo panicked and awkwardly tried to comfort her, "Don't cry... It'll be alright when we get home, don't cry... Dad's here..."

When the adopted daughter left, she mentioned that her biological father's surname was Qiao and he was now the director of a plastics factory. She was going to go and live a good life with her biological father!

And Xia Jianguo's own daughter will be sold to a mentally challenged man by her adoptive father, and she will never come back to see her useless father again in this lifetime!

Although he didn't know how his adopted daughter knew these things, the way she spoke so seriously made him worry!

So not long after his adopted daughter left, he sent his son to Suzhou to look for her. Fortunately, he has now found his daughter!

Xia Jianguo felt that his son had done a pretty reliable job this time.

Now that he sees Xia Wan crying, he instinctively feels that his daughter has been wronged by her adoptive parents!

Xia Jianguo was both angry and helpless. His broken body was simply incapable of upholding justice for his daughter!

Watching the way the father and daughter interacted, Wu Guohua couldn't help but laugh: "Alright, Wan'er, stop crying! Your dad is known for doting on his daughter. These few tears of yours are almost making your dad cry!"

They really are father and daughter; they were able to be completely at ease with each other right after meeting.

In comparison, the previous Xia Qiao was a complete ingrate, only knowing how to take benefits but never doing anything decent!

He used to think that Xia Jianguo had spoiled the child, but now it seems that the kid was born bad, rotten to the core, and no amount of teaching could change him!

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Xia Jianguo's face, and he quickly changed the subject, saying, "Brother Guohua, don't talk nonsense in front of my daughter!"

He coughed and continued, "By the way, where did that kid Xia Tao go?"

Xia Wan burst into laughter through her tears, almost calling him "Old Xia" out loud!

Her movements, expressions, and tone of voice are exactly like her dad's! If anyone dares to say that this isn't Old Xia, she'll slap them across the face!

"Taozi hasn't..."

In just a few words, Wu Dazhuang brought the doctor over.

Wu Guohua wanted to say something more, but he swallowed his words and didn't get a chance to say them.

After a thorough examination, the doctor confirmed that there was no major problem and that the patient only needed to stay in the hospital for observation for a few days before being discharged and going home.

Upon hearing this news, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's good that you're alright. Dazhuang and I will head back now!" Wu Guohua stood up, preparing to leave the hospital.

After all, there were still many things in the village waiting for him to deal with, and he really couldn't afford to waste any more time.

Xia Jianguo nodded and looked at him gratefully, saying, "Brother Guohua and Dazhuang have gone through so much trouble. You should go back now. I'm all better here!"

Wu Guohua glared at him and said reproachfully, "Why are you telling me all this? You've helped our family a lot before, and I've never been this polite to you!"

Then he turned to Xia Wan and said, "Wan, you must be careful here all by yourself. If anything happens, go find a doctor for help!"

"Okay, Uncle, don't worry!" Xia Wan nodded, stood up and saw them to the door: "You and Da Zhuang should be careful on your way back!"

After saying that, Xia Wan took out the meat buns they hadn't finished eating and handed them to them, saying, "Oh right, Uncle, take these buns back and eat them too."

Nowadays, everyone's living conditions are not very good, and neither of them are the type to take advantage of others. In addition, knowing that Xia Wan's family had encountered this situation, they refused to take the buns back no matter what.

Xia Wan sighed helplessly and could only try to persuade him earnestly: "Uncle, please take them. This is my token of appreciation! Besides, if you don't take them, the buns will get cold by evening, and my dad can't eat cold food."

After much persuasion, the steamed buns were finally delivered!

After seeing everyone off, Xia Wan closed the door, her face beaming with smiles, and excitedly called out to the person leaning against the hospital bed, "Old Xia!"

Xia Jianguo was utterly astonished, a crack appearing on his face for a moment. What was wrong with his daughter? Why wasn't she calling him "Dad" anymore when there were no outsiders around?

Didn't you just call me Dad? How come you're calling me Old Xia now?

Xia Wan noticed the change in his expression and looked at him in shock: "Old Xia, you didn't recognize me? I'm your daughter!"

She looks a bit thinner now than in her previous life, but otherwise she hasn't changed much. People who know her can recognize her at a glance, so how could Old Xia not recognize her?

Xia Wan's face turned pale. Wasn't this Old Xia? Wasn't this her father from her past life?

How could that be?

Every move she makes is clearly that of that person!

If they weren't the same person, how could they look so alike?

Xia Wan's face grew increasingly pale, and a wave of dizziness nearly caused her to collapse to the ground!
