Chapter 235 Impotent Rage

In stark contrast to Xia Jianjun was Xia Jiandang. He merely glanced indifferently at the old man, then followed unhurriedly, his face showing no sign of anxiety.

His nonchalant demeanor made one wonder if he didn't care about his mother's safety at all.

Seeing this, Xia Wan rolled her eyes and deliberately slowed down, soon walking alongside Xia Jiandang.

She lowered her voice and asked with a curious look, "Third Uncle, I heard you're making a fuss about dividing the family property? Didn't they agree?"

Upon hearing this, Xia Jiandang paused slightly in his steady steps, but quickly resumed his normal pace, seemingly not intending to cover up the matter.

He sighed softly and said slowly, "She did agree. Just now your grandmother said she was going to find the brigade leader to be a witness, but I don't know why she went to the village entrance again."

At this point, he frowned, a hint of doubt in his eyes.

After all, the village chief's house is located in the exact opposite direction from the village entrance. Everyone has already finished work; if someone really wanted to find the village chief, they should go directly to his house!

"Third Uncle, if it weren't for the fact that you haven't hurt my father, I wouldn't have come to remind you! You'd better be more careful! My grandmother is carrying a burden on her back!"

Who knows what treasures are inside! Maybe she's planning to use this family division as an excuse to secretly move all the good stuff out and leave it all to her uncle's family!

Xia Wan blinked her bright, lively eyes, her face displaying an expression that said, "I'm only open with you."

Hearing this, Xia Jiandang felt a warmth in his heart and quickly said, "Oh, Xiao Wan is so thoughtful! Your father has always been the only one in this family who has taken good care of me. You must have asked him to come and help me today, right?"

As he spoke, his honest and simple face was filled with emotion, and his eyes seemed to be a little moist.

Xia Wan looked at his expression, so moved he was about to cry, and couldn't bear to shatter his beautiful fantasy.

So she could only nod slightly and give a vague reply, then quickly urged, "Third Uncle, let's not delay any longer! Look ahead, so many people have already run over to join in the fun! If we dawdle any longer, we might miss the very end of the excitement!"

After saying that, he quickened his pace.

Upon seeing this, Xia Jiandang immediately beamed with joy, his mouth stretching so wide it almost reached his ears. He hurriedly replied, "Yes, yes, yes! Let's go take a look right away!"

Despite saying that, the two of them remained unhurried and soon arrived at the place where Grandma Xia had fallen.

However, by this time, there were hardly any people left.

After some inquiries, it was learned from the few remaining onlookers that Xia Jianjun had just carried Old Lady Xia to the village doctor for treatment.

Xia Wan slightly raised the corners of her mouth, forming a faint arc, then waved to Xia Jiandang and said softly, "Uncle, I'll go back now. My dad is still waiting for me at home."

After saying that, she turned and walked lightly toward home.

Throughout the journey, Xia Wan kept one thing on her mind: what exactly did Grandma Xia bury under that big tree? This mystery lingered in her mind, making her eager to find out.

Just as Xia Wan was still some distance from her home, a figure suddenly appeared in the middle of the road ahead, blocking her way.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be Qiao Qiao. At this moment, Qiao Qiao's face was gloomy, like the sky before a storm, and her original sweet and lovely image was completely gone.

"Xia Wan, wait a minute, I have something to ask you!" Qiao Qiao's voice revealed a hint of annoyance and resentment.

She stood with her hands on her hips, staring intently at Xia Wan, as if she wanted to pierce through her with her gaze.

Qiao Qiao had been waiting here for a long time. Ever since Wu Erzhu explained the accident to her this morning, her anger had been burning fiercely.

Wu Erzhu told her that the bowl of water he gave her last night was originally intended for Xia Wan, but he mistakenly took the wrong one, which led to the two of them ending up sleeping in the same bed without realizing it.

Qiao Qiao simply could not accept this explanation.

She felt that things were definitely not that simple, and that it was all a conspiracy meticulously planned by Xia Wan.

But no matter how hard she racked her brains, she couldn't figure out what kind of trick Xia Wan had used to cleverly arrange for Wu Erzhu to bring the bowl of water that should have belonged to Xia Wan to her lips!

That's clearly Wu Erzhu's house!

Qiao Qiao never imagined that Wu Erzhu would betray her, after all, she was very confident in her ability to manipulate people.

Xia Wan casually raised her head, her gaze falling on the figure blocking her way. She saw Qiao Qiao standing there with an angry expression.

Xia Wan's lips curled up slightly, forming a mocking arc, and she chuckled, "Oh ho, isn't this Qiao Qiao? Congratulations! When can I attend your and Wu Erzhu's wedding banquet? I'll definitely prepare a generous gift then."

Upon hearing this, Qiao Qiao's face instantly darkened further. She stared intently at Xia Wan, her eyes blazing with fury, and gritted her teeth as she said:

"Xia Wan, don't be so smug! Just you wait and see, one day you'll pay a heavy price for everything you've done! You shameless slut!"

However, Xia Wan remained remarkably calm and composed in the face of Qiao Qiao's furious accusations and insults. Her voice remained calm and indifferent, as if she were kindly reminding the other party:

"Hey Qiao Qiao, do you know what you call looking like right now? This is what they call 'impotent rage,' tsk tsk tsk, look at your furious state, it's absolutely disgusting. And you'd better be careful, don't let Wu Erzhu see you like this, or he might start to hate you."

Before she could finish speaking, Qiao Qiao lunged at Xia Wan like a madwoman, screaming hysterically, "Xia Wan, you damned bitch! Die!"

Unfortunately, before she could even get close to Xia Wan, Xia Wan flashed forward and launched a kick with the lightness of a swallow. That seemingly casual kick contained tremendous power, striking Qiao Qiao directly.

With a muffled thud, Qiao Qiao was sent flying backward like a kite with a broken string, finally crashing heavily into the trunk of a large tree not far away.
