Chapter 142 White Bird Appears

They carefully kept a certain distance and followed quietly and silently.

Cheng Jiawen stared at the figure nervously and intently, thinking to himself, "It seems she doesn't seem to be aware of our presence, but we still can't let our guard down."

He gently touched Officer Xiao Fan beside him, looked at him, and the two reached a consensus and continued to follow.

Officer Xiao Fan held his weapon tightly, ready to deal with any possible situation at any time. He was the only one at the scene with a hot weapon. Jiang Ziwen and Cheng Jiawen were holding batons, so he took the lead and walked in front.

In the middle is Jiang Ziwen, and Cheng Jiawen is at the back.

Several people followed Widow Li carefully, passing through narrow and winding streets, and finally arrived at a remote little house on the outskirts of the city.

Widow Li stopped and looked around nervously, as if danger could come at any moment. She took a deep breath and gently reached out to knock on the door.

After a while, a slight noise was heard, and then the door slowly opened a crack.

Everyone looked closely and saw a burly man appear at the door. When Widow Li saw him, her eyes immediately turned red and she rushed forward to hug him tightly.

The man in the room didn't seem to be shocked by this sudden action. He just stood there quietly without moving, with Widow Li still holding him.

He scanned the surroundings with sharp eyes and remained highly alert. He was extremely cautious and kept his entire body hidden in the room without revealing a single bit, so all Cheng Jiawen and the others saw outside was his blurry figure.

The man observed carefully and made sure that there was nothing unusual around him. Then he quickly closed the door with force, isolating the outside world from the house.

Cheng Jiawen and others hid in the bushes not far away and continued to observe the situation in the house.

Jiang Ziwen squatted beside Cheng Jiawen, watching Widow Li enter the house, and couldn't help but admire her in his heart, "Jiawen, you are amazing."

He reached out and poked him, "Hey, how did you find out she was at my aunt's house, and how did you know for sure she would leave tonight? Tell me quickly, I'm very curious."

Cheng Jiawen rolled his eyes at him and said unhappily, "Your aunt must have told me that, otherwise how would I know."

Jiang Ziwen was a little confused and retorted in a low voice: "Impossible, how could my aunt tell you and not tell me? When did she tell you? Was it when you went to her house together?"

Cheng Jiawen nodded. "Well, when we were walking to her house together, she told us about her relationship with Widow Li. Later, when we got to her house, she stayed in her room for a long time, and then came out and told us that she was not familiar with Widow Li and had no relationship with her."

"These inconsistent words were clearly a clue to us, so after we left her house, we didn't leave immediately. Instead, we waited downstairs."

Jiang Ziwen nodded in sudden realization, "Oh, so that's how it is. No wonder."

Officer Xiao Fan looked at the silent room and felt anxious. "Ziwen, go back to the station right now and tell Officer Liu to lead a team to surround this place. I'm afraid they've escaped."

"Okay, I understand."

After hearing this, Jiang Ziwen nodded without hesitation and responded in a very low voice. Then he stood up as lightly as a cat and ran out on tiptoe.

At the same time, Cheng Jiawen and Xiaofan were still quietly lurking in the bushes, staring intently at the house, not missing any movement.

They opened their eyes wide and pricked up their ears, as if they wanted to take in all the subtle changes around them.

Time passed by minute by minute, but the two remained highly vigilant and did not dare to relax at all.

-------------------------------------

On this side, Jiang Ziwen was running wildly on the road, beads of sweat the size of beans kept dripping from his forehead, and his clothes were already soaked with sweat, but he did not dare to stop.

Finally, he ran to the door of the police station and sat down on the ground because he was so tired.

The police station was still brightly lit at this time, and the policemen inside were busy. Some were looking through documents for clues, while others were organizing information and analyzing the case.

Everyone is working overtime, hoping to solve the case as soon as possible.

Jiang Ziwen ran into the police station panting and attracted everyone's attention as soon as he entered.

When Officer Liu saw his expression, he immediately understood something. He immediately stood up and walked towards Jiang Ziwen.

"What's wrong? Do you have any clues?" Officer Liu asked anxiously.

Jiang Ziwen gasped for breath and it took him a long time to recover.

He nodded and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "Yes... We found Widow Li and followed her to a house on the outskirts of the city. There seems to be a man in that house. Jiawen and Xiaofan are watching him now. Xiaofan asked me to come back and call you."

Upon hearing this news, Officer Liu's eyes flashed with excitement. He nodded excitedly and then quickly glanced at the other police officers in the station.

"Xiao Chen! Xiao Li! Jianguo! Bai Lin... Take your weapons and follow me!" Officer Liu shouted.

The police officers who were called stood up and quickly grabbed their equipment, ready to go. They knew that this might be the crucial moment to catch the murderer, and everyone seemed extremely nervous and excited.

The person whose name was called immediately stood up and said seriously, "Okay."

Afterwards, they quickly changed their clothes, put on bulletproof vests, checked their weapons, and set off with Officer Liu.
